Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, and welcome to another Bi-Weekly Update from myself. We have a number of exciting things coming up and happening around the board, some of them you may have missed, so without further delay, let's skip right to it!
Semester Two
Semester two of Y23 will be beginning tomorrow, Monday 29th June. So, professors are reminded to post classes, and students should remember to sign up for said classes. It'll be an exciting semester I'm sure, and there is still all to play for in that House cup! Well, at least for Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, with 5 points between them it's all to play for.
Electives fair
After the first elective's fair of last IC year, the staff are keen to host this once more, so it shall be posted in the near future. Folks with second year students should consider attending the fair, students can benefit from learning about the elective subjects and talking to the respective professors about it, while you as the RPer might already know, the student themselves may still be unsure, so it'll be a good place for possible character development. If this goes well, and is successful then perhaps something just as exciting will be able to happen.
Welcome the New Professors
We have a number of new Professors to welcome and a few current professors doing a bit of moving around to welcome to their new positions; first of Professor Kida Frost will be taking over the senior years of Transfiguration and Professor Dillory Mouse will be taking over the junior years of Care of Magical Creatures. Taking over the junior years of Muggle Studies will be Professor Sloane Stark. Professor Misha Haden will be taking over the junior years of Charms and Professor Hades Styx II will be taking over Defence Against the Dark Arts during Professor Kalif Styx absence. So, welcome to the new professors and their RPers! And once again, as always a huge thank you to all of our RPers who have professors.
Accio!
This a reminder for people to remember to post your pictures in the Accio yearbook, as the term/Y23 dwindles down the Accio Staff have to get to work creating the pages, so post the pictures soon. The profiles will be closing soon, but the rest will remain open longer. So, get to it, post the pictures before it's too late!
Quidditch!
There shall be a quidditch game at the end of the week, Captains should prepare their teams see whom is available to play and we are all looking forward to these games, quidditch is always great fun! Perhaps they might impact the house cup? Quidditch isn't just for the players too, when the games have started, students not on the team can post in the stands, post their support of their teams, and reactions to the game.
Restricted Area
Reminder about the restricted section of the library, that is accessible to students who desire to use it, so that is something available. They would need to have a valid reason for doing so but with that, can access these areas if they really desire and have permission to.
And in those areas of the school and grounds restricted to students, Professor should feel free to gate crash, and get those students into trouble!
Wizengamot Excitement
As you may have perhaps noticed just last week saw the launch of the Wizengamot, if you missed the announcement, you can read all about it Here. The applications are for this however closed, but it's very exciting stuff, and sure to provide many good plots. It requires a degree of activity now, so if you feel sad you missed the deadline this time around to apply, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future for you to do so. It is exciting stuff, so keep your eyes pealed for plots surrounding the Wizengamot. I'm very much looking forward to it, are you?
Applications closed
Applications are now closed, so hopefully you managed to get your application in before they were closed, if not you'll just have to wait until they reopen. Those who did get their applications in will likely hear back when the application has been processed. Please remain patient with the Admin during this period.
New Scitorari Group
As well as the excitement surrounding the Wizengamot, we have a new sect of the infamously evil Scitorari group, they are the Blood Magic group, with the leader, Adalia Ater. You can read about what they are as well as any of the other Scitorari groups, Here.
Calendar Updated
The calendar has now been updated. So feel free to look there to see when things will be happening during this term, and when the term will end, the exciting things happening during the term, and of course when sorting will begin! You can check that out here.
