This is an Open topic, but please let Cyndi, Linda and Emzies reply first. Then, go crazy! :D

This was the start of something fantastic. Sure, the two had done plenty of pranks together, but this was genius. This was a money maker. Finn and his very best pranking friend ever, Desislav had asked, very politely, for the help of the House Elves. They were only too happy to help, running around to finish the task that Desi and Finn were far too lazy to do themselves. While the house elves baked, the two boys fought over who's name was going to go first on the sign.
Finally it was all done, the most amazing cupcakes with a very special ingredient hidden in the middle. The house elves, of course, thought it was a peanut surprise, but their customers were sure to figure out quickly that the peanuts tasted very similar to cockroaches. Finn couldn't hide his grin as they set up their table and put up the sign, ready for their first victim customer.

Most amazing ever cupcakes!

Putting the finishing touches on their small table, Desi held up his hand for a high five from his very good friend. Finn was always up for fun, and this had been just that. The most fun. Casting the Sonorous charm on himself, Desi called out “Cupcakes. Get your cupcakes here!” He bit back the laugh that threatened to escape when he glanced at Finn. This idea had been genius, but he expected nothing less considering he and Finn had thought this up together.

“Hey. Heading to Melbourne’s class? Take a cupcake for the walk!” he called out as he saw a tiny student walk by. Desi was pretty sure that the children were getting smaller and smaller. He could not remember ever being that tiny, certainly not at the age of eleven or twelve.

Norton was so thoroughly enjoying his time at school, there were so many things that he was enjoying about it. The fact he could talk to paints, he liked reading books that had moving pictures since that was still a novelty, he was enjoying the magical magazines that he'd read through with Jess, he was enjoying so much of the school. There was nothing about it that he didn't currently enjoy. There was another quidditch game coming up which he was so excited about, but he was also super excited about the up coming Yuleball, if the halloween celebrations were anything to go by this would be even more amazing. Norton was heading to get some food when he spotted two people with cupcakes. Never one to turn down a treat, he headed over to them both. As Norton got closer he noticed that one of the boys was someone he knew, they were both older. He grinned, "Desislav!" he greeted warmly, he pointed to the cupcakes, "Are you just giving these away?" he asked hoping that they were. He hadn't quite figured out the currency and he didn't know how to pay for things, "Can I get one for free?" he tested, looking up at the boy that he knew with a hopeful wide smile. Hoping that if someone did have to pay for one, that because he knew one of them he could get it for free.

Minerva had been practicing her levitation spell all morning by using it to carry all the books she had borrowed back to the library, she had been delighted with herself as she hadn't bumped into anyone, hadn't knocked a book over and hadn't dropped a single one. Considering that she was levitating anywhere up to seven heavy tomes at any given time meant this was definitely a pat on your back day for Minerva. She briefly wondered as she left the library for the last time that day if she could have used the levitation charm on her broom or herself and all this grief about flying wouldn't have come about at all.

Making her way down the stairs and towards the great hall so that she could just sit about and read a little as the library was far too busy with students studying for end of term exams, Minerva heard a voice calling out something about cupcakes. She had not had a decent cupcake since she had left home and suddenly began rooting in the pocket of her skirt to see if she had any coins on her. Noting the sickles available to her, she smiled and made her way towards where the voice had come from. A small table with a sign that had names scratched out before it informed it's readers that the most delicious cupcakes were available, Minerva couldn't help but smile. She wasn't a cupcake connoisseur or anything but she didn't think anyone could make cupcakes like her mother could.

As she glanced up from the sign on her approach, she spotted her classmate, house mate and haunted house aficionado Norton Gillespie. She had not had any opportunity to speak to him since and eve if she had, she really wouldn't have known what to say to him .... wandered into any good haunted houses lately? Seen any good pumpkins about? Her small talk had always bordered on the abysmal but when she got near the table and heard him asking for a free cupcake, that seemed to clear the way for her to finally have something to say to him.

"Hi .. I mean... uhm, hullo Norton" she didn't blush but she felt the ground opening up to swallow her and the portraits about the hall begin to whisper at what a dope she sounded ... dawh.. hello Norton! Could she be any lamer? "So ... cupcakes huh?" oh the observable that was she! she glanced up at the two older boys and let her hand remain for now in the pocket, she was pretty shrewd and would wait first to see if the cupcakes were for free or not, otherwise she would offer to pay for a treat for herself and Norton and hopefully talking about the deliciousness that was a good old cupcake would thaw her ability to speak better.

"Norton!" Desislav replied loudly and happily. "Hey bud" he added, genuinely happy to see the kid. They'd had a spot of fun a few months before. Before he could reply, a girl showed up, greeting Norton. The smile remained on his face, though it became a knowing one as he assumed one or the other of the little firsties were interested in the other. "First one's free, especially for you and your friend, Norton" he said, gesturing for them to pick the one they wanted since they were frosted differently.

"Just make sure you tell people where you got it" his grin transformed into a smirk as he gave Finn a light kick. "We're taste testing these to see if they'll work for our...ahem...business." He left it at that, conveniently leaving out that it wasn't a baking business.

The young hufflepuff was pretty happy that the older boy remembered his name, he was surprised by it, not entirely expecting him to but he was happy about it. He was really looking forward to getting a cupcake and hoped that he could get one for free, the best candy was always free. Norton looked to the new voice as they said hello, and Norton's smile grew even more upon seeing Minerva, "Hello!" having met her probably recently, and thoroughly enjoying her company no matter how brief it had been, "Good to see you," he added with a warm and genuine smile to the girl. Though from then his attention was solely back upon the cupcakes, of course they would be, he was possibly about to get them for free! The hufflepuff nodded excited at Minerva's question, "Yeah, and Des is going to give us free ones right?" he asked the boy again, celebrating a little when they did actually get the first one for free. He took it gladly, "Thanks Des and Des' friend," he thanked them both sincerely as he held the cupcake in his hands as if it was pure gold. He nodded at the condition, "I'll tell everyone!" he assured the boys before turning to Minerva and smiling, "Right? We'll tell everyone?" he was asking her to be sure she agreed with him and would also fulfil the condition. He wasn't sure whether to eat it there and then or save it for later, "Do you wanna go eat it now?" Norton asked Minerva, pointing towards the great hall where they could enjoy the cupcakes.

Finn grinned at the two suckers victims customers as they approached them and asked about the cupcakes. The Seventh Year boy nodded his head in agreement with Desi, everyone could try one free, but he hoped that would encourage them to buy a few. Finn gave the boy that Des called Norton a thumbs up as he thanked them, "You can call me Finn, friends of Des!" Finn announced. "Make sure you tell them it's from Finn and Desislav!" He added, smirking at Des. His face fell however, when the boy named Norton suggested that him and his friend went and ate it in the Great Hall. "No need for that dear Norton! We want to see the joy and delight on your face as our first customers!" He exclaimed. In honesty, he really did want to see their reaction, and he was sure the first few moment would be joy and delight...until they reached their cockroach surprise.

Matt had heard many great things about Hogwarts and he couldn't help but explore the inside of the castle instead of outside where he'd been spending most of his free time. The first year was glad his family had decided to place him here and not the school in Scotland, to be fair his cousins were already here and there was no point in separating the family. He smiled as he wandered around, until he heard voices from somewhere up ahead. Continuing to walk along the corridor, Matt found himself at the Entrance Hall and before he knew it he was standing in front of other students, some he recognised in Gryffindor and two people he knew from a couple of classes he had with them. They weren't in his house though, he was sure of it. "Hi," he said walking up to the small group. Then he noticed the cupcakes and his grin widened. "Did you make these yourselves?" Matt raised an eyebrow as he glanced at the two older boys, seeing their friendly smiles made him think they were harmless. What harm could eating a cupcake possibly do? "I hope they're free."

Minerva gave Norton a smile when he turned and greeted her, she wished she could be as brave as he was asking for free cupcakes like that but she wouldn't have found the nerve to. She would have most likely slapped the money on the table and hurriedly made her way far from them all if he hadn't been there. As it was because one of the boys obviously knew Norton he decided to give them both free cakes. Minerva's eyes widened with delight and surprise but before she could question his generosity a simple and good explanation soon came. They needed taste testers to make sure the cakes were good enough for whatever entrepreneurial endeavour they had planned.

"Thank you" she said to the older student's behind the table as Norton then promised that he would tell everyone where he got the cake from. He looked at her and included her which warmed her greatly. She was used to her own awkwardness around people keeping her from being friendly and open or in any way engaging and often had to rely on the kindness of others to bring her into the fold so to speak. She was grateful now to Norton that he was including her in this and she nodded her head enthusiastically.

"I'll tell anyone that will listen"
she told him, looking from Norton to the boys when the other boy, who she deduced from the poster must be Finn considering how often the other was referred to as Des, said they'd prefer for them to eat where they could witness themselves the joy and delight when Norton and herself ate their cakes.

It seemed like a reasonable request, so Minerva picked up one of the cupcakes thanking the two boys again and took a few steps back as another boy came forward, he was a first year as well but from another house which Minerva couldn't recall at that moment. It mattered not at any rate, she looked to Norton and holding the cupcake to her mouth, smiled at him.
"Thanks for this" she told him before taking a bit.

The bite was small enough, she hadn't wanted to get frosting all over her face but the cake was ... good, it wasn't fantastic and nothing like her mother used to make but it was alright. She shrugged at Norton and decided to take a bigger bite so that she could taste the cake better and turned to face the two boys in the moment she did so. The bite was bigger and she chewed twice breaking the crumbly cake into her mouth when suddenly the most disgusting taste assailed her. She didn't know what it was but suddenly her face crumbled and the reflex action to spit the cake out came upon her strongly.

"Bla... urgghhh!"
she couldn't formulate any words, the taste seemed to claw at her mouth so badly. She lifted her free hand to her mouth and let the gooey crumbly mess spew into it, Crumbs falling to the floor and on her jumper that did not make it to her hand.

Desi nodded his head, making a rude gesture at Finn as he listed his name as being first. They'd gone over this! Still, he couldn't be upset for too long, not when the two first years were so close to giving the cupcakes a taste and especially not when another kid came along. "First one is" he said, gesturing for the young kid to take one. "Desi and Finn's cupcakes" he added, pointedly looking at his friend, "guaranteed to make your taste buds pop." He covered his mouth as he chuckled, not wanting to give anything away. Desi watched as the girl went for her cupcake first, nudging Finn with his elbow as discreetly as he possibly could, which for Desi wasn't discreetly at all. He could tell the instant when her taste buds must have popped. Her reaction was priceless. Desislav only wished he had a camera.

Norton gladly took the cupcake and the advice given to say within eye line, but he looked to Minerva with the little happy smile, glad that he was able to share in the love of the cupcakes. Despite the fact that the first time Nortie had met Des was when he'd tripped him up the boy didn't think twice about giving his trust to him, or to his friend, Finn. Norton held the cupcake in his hand, just marvelling at it for a moment, and watched as Minerva took a small bite and seemed to confirm that it was just fine, he had no reason to think that she would be in on anything, and he trusted her, so he just took a large bit of the cupcake, the niceness of the cupcake was then ruined by the overwhelmingly horrible taste that then filled his mouth. Without the decency of Minerva who caught it on her hand, Norton spat it out on to the floor, making slight gagging noises as the taste continue to overwhelm his mouth. God that was horrid! WHAT was that! He was bent over slightly, trying to get all residue cupcake out of his mouth, and looked to the remainder of the cupcake in his hand and noted the horrible looking center with his bite marks all over. Norton glanced round to Minerva and frowned a little, he looked up at the boys who'd given them the cupcakes and with as hard a throw he could, with the taste still in his mouth he threw the cupcake at the older boys with a smirk. He didn't know enough magic yet to throw that at them, but he had a horrid cupcake in his hand and the slight attention of the two boys.

When the new boy approached, Finn shrugged his shoulders at his question on whether they made them. They had input, for sure, but asking the two boys to bake would be a disaster. He was sure the House Elves were much happier doing it themselves...rather than clean up the bomb site that Finn and Des would have left behind. The girl kept saying thank you and it was music to Finn's ears. She had no idea what she was in for. The Seventh Year had to laugh when Desi pulled the fingers at him, he would surely keep up the argument for as long as he could. He knew the two of them would never get into a real fight over something like a name. Finn laughed when Des tried to corrected the name, and he coughed "Finn," over the top of Desi's sales pitch. He felt an elbow in his side and excitedly patted Des on the shoulder as the two of them watched them eat their cupcakes. He absolutely lost it with laughter when the girl spat it back up, and though he was taken by surprise as the little boy's cupcake hit him in the face, he laughed again. He picked up the half eaten cupcake and held it in the air for all to see. "Best ever cupcakes, a perfect present or your best friend or worst enemy! Get them while you can!" Finn called out to all that would hear him.

Gideon's past fifteen minutes had been spent scouring the castle for Gilly, in the hopes she'd teach him some of her karate moves, or whichever martial art style she'd said she trained in. He wasn't really paying too much attention to the names at the time, but in his short time at Hogwarts he quickly realised that he wouldn't always have his wand on him, and he hoped to learn a thing or two on how to kick ass without one. It was only on his way outside that he finally skidded to a halt, overhearing some shouting in the entrance hall. The Gryffindor soon found an unusual sight, two boys with a cupcake stall, surrounded by a small crowd. He could recognise at least one of the girls present, the shy Hufflepuff whom had offended his sister someway or another, a feat that wasn't entirely hard to do. She looked repulsed by something, and it wasn't until he'd gotten closer that he realised what was happening. "That's sick." The boy commented, frowning in disgust at the half eaten cupcake. As gross as it was, he couldn't pass on the opportunity. He had siblings to trick, or Gilly if she didn't want to help him out. "How much are they? Are they free? Can I take two - no, three!"

Desi had already been laughing but fell into hysterical laughter when the cupcake hit Finn right in the face. Whenever he looked at Finn he broke into more laughter until a glob of frosting fell off of his cheek. Desi managed to pull it together to greet the next person. He wanted to make a purchase. "Finn!" he kicked his friend so he could grab one of the pastry boxes the house elves had given them. "First one's free. Second and third are one galleon each." He was trying to be serious, but he was delighted that they were actually going to make money right now.

Minerva felt wretched and looked at Norton, genuinely hoping he wasn't in on this because it was most assuredly some sort of prank! However, she couldn't help but give a faint smile when she saw him throw his own slightly bitten cupcake at the Finn boy and hit him squarely in the face. To her astonishment the boy merely laughed and continued selling the cakes and to her further astonishment boys began lining up to buy them! They hadn't really been pranked she gathered, they had just been used as test subjects for what the boy had originally said - their entrepreneur endeavour ... selling crap cupcakes that tasted terrible, obviously what some people would consider hilarious to give to a friend or enemy.

She wanted to see the funny side but couldn't, the taste was disgusting in her mouth and now she had an awful mess in her hand as well. She couldn't very well just throw it at them the way Norton had but what else could she do? Knowing her luck she would get caught and have points removed from Hufflepuff and that she could not live with herself for doing.

"That was disgusting" she whispered to Norton, rummaging in her other pocket for a napkin, retrieving it she wiped her hand and let the cake get lost within its folds. She would find a place to dumb it, though she really did want to dumb it back on to the two older boys. Minerva glanced a little shyly at Norton,
"I'm glad we didn't have to pay for those" a slight smile graced her mouth before she felt the need to gag once again, "I have to get rid ... of this ... taste!"

Matt's grin widened as he took one eagerly, glancing at the two other first years who seemed to be enjoying their cupcakes. The Gryffindor took a bite, frowning when the girl spat out the contents and then soon afterwards, so did the boy. Matt stopped chewing, swallowing uncertainly, before shrugging and carrying on with eating it. Maybe some hadn't been baked as well as others. He was content with the delicious food when he stopped chewing abruptly, a sour expression clear on his face. He looked at the half chewed cupcake in his hand, forcing himself to swallow his last bite he'd ever take, causing him to gag and throw the cupcake at the nearest person in his reach - totally unintentional. Matt turned quickly to look at where his delicious turned into disgusting piece of food had landed and covered his mouth in an attempt not to laugh. It had been one of the older boys, the blonde one who had laughed while his friend had been thrown a cupcake at him. Some plans just backfired.

Norton couldn't help but laugh as the cupcake hit Finn in the face, the taste was truly horrid and he couldn't imagine tasting anything worse, but Nortie had tried olives before and those were just as horrible as the awful cupcakes that they had eaten. Norton looked to Minerva and nodded in agreement, "Disgusting," he agreed but laughing slightly, "But funny," he couldn't help but admit, he'd been caught out on a prank yet again, and though it was horrible in taste he almost admired the two older boys pranking them and seemingly other students who were opting in despite the fact that both he and Minerva had spat out their own cakes! those boys had to GENUISES! Norton didn't think he could pull it off, too much laughing and probably a desire to not trick people would stop him. He was however glad like she was that they hadn't had to pay for them, it would've been worse he had had to spend money he barely understood on disgusting cakes. The boy wondered what they could drink or eat to get rid of the taste of the disgusting cupcakes from his mouth, "We could go to the kitchens, and get some drinks? We could try that butterbeer stuff, so if that helps?" he offered, a little unsure as to where the kitchens were but knowing from what others had said that he could get food from there, "I'm sure they'll give us something!" He offered Minerva, pointing in the direction he thought it was.

A younger boy had approached the two pranksters and asked how much they were. Finn didn't need the kick from Desislav, and vowed to return the favor once the customer had left. He grinned at the small child when Des gave their prices, waiting excitedly for their first purchase to happen.
The first small child mentioned getting a drink from the kitchens, and he knew it was time for their next big sale. "No need tiny friend! We have just what you need." Finn exclaimed, before dragging up bottles of water. "3 Galleons a bottle - sure to get rid of any uh - sickening tastes." He grinned at the small crowd that gathered in front of the two of them, happy that Des and himself were being seen for the geniuses that they were.
The best part was that Desislav had now been hit in the face with a cupcake as well. That was just the icing on the top. He packed up, and held out his hand for a fist bump to the small Gryffindor child that did it.

Her mother always said that she was a good judge of character and somehow she believed her this time as she watched the laughing face of Norton before turning to see the other boy this time getting a cupcake flung at him. Still that she couldn't do, no matter how the impulse to do it was strong. If the boys had meant it as a vicious prank, then yes, she would have retaliated with bells and gargoyles tolling but there had been nothing malicious about it at all, really.

Minerva glanced at Norton again as he spoke to her and then eagerly nodded her head, she hadn't been to the kitchens yet and it had been months since she'd had any butterbeer.

"I like that idea" she smiled, glancing about her before glancing about her trying to recall if she had heard anyone mention where the kitchen's were. For the life of her she had no idea but thankfully it looked as if Norton did.
"Great" she hoped she didn't sound ridiculously over enthusiastic but right now she would have happily sold the family farm to get the rotten taste out of her mouth. She began to move in the direction that Norton had pointed in.
"So what part of New Zealand are you from?" she knew a kiwi accent when she heard one, it wasn't vastly different from her own at all. What she found the most fascinating was that for some strange reason she didn't feel as cripplingly shy around this boy and wondered if he had some kind of charm about him.

Desislav was having an amazing time. The cupcakes were getting exactly the reaction that they'd hoped they would, and he knew that they would be adding this to their inventory. Just as he was turning to tell Finn that, Desislav was hit right in the forehead by a cupcake. As it slowly slid down the bridge of his nose, falling to the floor, Desislav laughed it up. That kid's aim was amazing, but what was more amazing was part b of their plan - selling water at twice the amount the cupcakes were since they knew that people would want to wash the taste out of their mouths. Desi had tried one of the cockroach clusters, and really he didn't know what all the gagging was about. They tasted pretty good to him. Watching as Finn held up his hand, waiting for a fist bump, an expression of the utmost betrayal crossed Desi's face, though it only lasted for a second before he was too busy chuckling again. "Get the best cupcakes ever right here!"he yelled out, wiping some frosting off his forehead and eating it.

Like a moth drawn to a flame, Zee couldn't help but follow her feet to big commotions. Someone was calling out something. Other people were crying out like they had touched babies' poop. Things were being thrown at others, and it seemed like too much fun to miss out on. As she approached the group, it seemed as if the two older boys there were selling cupcakes, but they did not go down well with the others. Not wanting to regret trying what was being labelled as the best cupcakes ever, Zenia tried her first free one. At first, she couldn't understand what the others were freaking out about. They tasted fine. Zenia was wondering whether she should buy some for Cristian and Zoe before she took the next bite, and decided that was a horrible decision. Not a care about what she might look like, Zee opened her mouth and let the half-chewed cupcake fall out, with a "yeucchhhhh" sound. Grabbing a bottle, she dropped the other half of the cupcake on the ground, there was no way she was going to finish that. She drank half the bottle of water before she was sure the taste was gone, slamming it down on the table, glaring at the two bast pranksters when another idea came to mind. With a smile, she spoke. "Give me a dozen."
