Christmas was one of Jon's favourite holidays, the concept of gift giving and spending time with loved ones something he always cherished. Although that year he was looking forward to the christmas season more than usual if it were possible, for no other reason than he was considerably busier than he was most other years. Having a schedule with little to no gaps for time to himself, while seeming overwhelming on the surface, had made Jon feel incredibly happy, fulfilled, and excited instead knowing his time over the holiday was allotted evenly between the people he cared about most in his life. To top it all off, he had also planned out many of the gifts he wanted to buy, confident that his choices would be appreciated by the people receiving them. Wrapping them would be difficult given his sense of taste and coordination but he knew the way they appeared would be secondary, and it was the thought behind each gift that counted the most.
The yule ball marked the beginning of christmas for him, and Jon arrived to chaperone feeling giddy and excited for the holidays ahead. With a wide smile on his face he headed to the refreshment table, following his usual routine of pouring himself a glass of punch before moving somewhere on the sidelines, not wanting to disturb the students from making the most of their nights as he kept an eye on all that was happening.
