Becoming A Family

[Icarus Stratis]

Santorini, Greece


Icarus Stratis had caught the portkey of 2 p.m (a paper coffee cup) from an abandoned parking lot in Amsterdam. He travelled along with several Dutch wizards and witches from the Netherlands where he had spent a month for business, to the island of Santorini, Greece. The reason he had to spend a few months away from his family, had to do with Moutohora Macaw's team scouting fo new chasers. The team was desparate for new blood. Renewal was necessary if they wanted to remain one of the top ten most competitive Quiddtitch teams in the world and as a Keeper of the team, he was in the best position to test the talent of those who were aspiring to become a part of the team. He, along with the team's coach and a few other team players, had travelled around Europe for a few months in search for fresh talents. The last stop of their long tour ended up in Amsterdam where they met their last candidate. It was a month until the next cup for the Macaws and a week until practices were going to start again. After such a long time, Icarus needed desperately a break and to spend some time with his family.

This was the reason he appeared along with a few Dutch tourists in a vineyard, in Santorini. He had promised to his wife they were going to have holidays with their children and Icarus decided to combine this with something he was avoiding for a long time. It had been a year since Icarus married Kida and this happened without the attendance of his side of the family. His relationship with his father was never the best one ever since he revolted against his father's design of his son becoming a healer and instead going professional at Quidditch. When he announced to his parents that he had got engaged with a woman who had already a child, his father made it clear that he was diametrically opposed to this. Icarus had a spark of hope that his father would have grown soft with his first grandson's arrival. He wanted to introduce Kida and the children to his parents and siblings but his stomach was clenching up in knots at the though of his father speaking his mind and offend Kida. Despite his uneasiness, it was something he had decided to finally face and stop avoiding.

Icarus used his broom to fly from the location of the keyport to the hotel he had booked, where Kida and the children were already staying for a couple of days. As a child and later as a teenager, Icarus had been spending his summers at Santorini where his family had their summer house. His suggestion of spending their vacations there wasn't a random one. His parents and his siblings were in Santorini and it was a nice opportunity for all of them to meet. He had contacted his mother to let her know and she had invited them for a dinner at the house. Icarus had also prepared Kida about the invitation but he wasn't sure how exactly she had taken it. He was soon going to find out.

The hotel was on the lip of caldera, overlooking the smothered volcano which had caused the greatest volcanic eruption that human kind had ever experienced. The hotel althought it wasn't all wizarding, was owned by a friend of him who was a wizard as well and had modulated it in such a way that wizards could use magic without muggles becoming aware of anything out of the ordinary. It was just the perfect place for wizarding children such as Scarlet and Leonidas who couldn't fully control their magic. Under the effect of a disillusionment charm, he entered the magically concealed entrance for the wizarding visitors and reversed the effects of the charm when no muggles could see him. He went straight for the reception. "Hello! Where I could find room 221?" he asked the receptionist in Greek. He had booked the particular room for its breath-taking view but he didn't know how to get there. The hotel was large with facilities, including also a mini zoo with magical creatures. Some of them were given by his father who was a magizoologist and breeder. He was looking forward to take Scarlet and little Leo and see the creatures.

After receiving the directions he needed, he charmed his baggage to follow them and used the lifts to reach the upper floors. He walked through long corridors, checking the numbers on the closed doors. He flashed a broad smile when he found their room. He stopped for a moment to hear the children's voices who seemed to be playing. "Room service." he called with a grin after knocking the door twice. He couldn't wait for this door to open and see his wife and children. He had missed them all so much.

Long Brown hair blew gentle over her lightly tanned shoulders, she leaned lightly against the bannister of the balcony and admired the view; Absolutely Breath taking. Her Hazel eyes studied the houses surrounding them and the plants which grew, The Witch took a Deep breath and exhaled with a sense of Tranquility although her stomach was performing little back flips she was both Excited and relaxed. It had been quite some time since she had seen her Husband, They got Married a year ago, not many people knew of her Marriage she didn't want to cause drama just to be with the Man she loved, so together they decided to exchange their vows with a small intimate ceremony. Not long after however her new Husband was needed to seek out new talents for his Quidditch Team; Many had told Kida that having her Husband on a rival team would cause issues but she doubted it. What other way to get back at someone for not making the bed in the morning or leaving a dirty tea cup out other than a Healthy game of Quidditch.

It had been almost an entire year since her Son had seen his Father and he had missed many Firsts but she was ready for him to return and catch up on all of them. Turning around she walked over to her two children and smiled at both of them. Scarlet was checking out everything in the Hotel room three times over with excitement, this was her first time in a Hotel as when they went to Tuscany they had a house so the idea of a tiny little fridge amused her greatly. Scarlet ran over to her little Brother Leonidas excited to show him things but he was too young to take much notice so she gave up and went to the Balcony while Leonidas was busy talking to himself as he went from standing to sitting. He hadn't quite taken his first steps just yet but he had mastered a good bottom wiggle as he rocked himself forward and pushed himself onto his feet.

Pacing the room Kida trying to figure out what to do with her time, She knew Icarus was arriving sometime soon but she wasn't sure when and the anticipation was causing the stomach flips to turn into knots, she was worried that something had happened to him. The last she had heard from Icarus was a few weeks ago about coming to Santorini, Greece to meet his family at Dinner, she knew she wouldn't be received well by them, she was Muggle born for one and all ready had a child to a Different Man those two things were not a good Mix. Kida look at her two children again and took a deep breath, Everything would be fine.

Kneeling down onto the floor Next to Leonidas she tapped his nose and he instantly grinned 'Are you Excited to meet your Daddy little man.' she asked her son and he made an odd sound in agreement, Snickering she picked him up and walked over to a free standing crib to put him in so she could unpack a few things without the worry of him Crawling off and breaking something. Meanwhile Scarlet was counting Birds 'Scarlet, Sweetheart. Have you Unpacked your things?' she asked which Scarlet ignored. Kida walked up behind Scarlet and gave her a big kiss on the cheek 'Are you Ignoring me little miss to avoid unpacking?' she asked picking her up and carrying her into her room; Scarlet was getting so Big now that Picking her up was an awkward half carry half waddle. 'Unpack Missy, and then we will find somewhere to get something to eat.. like Ice Cream'
Scarlet quickly went to unpack and Kida went back out to keep an eye on Leonidas when he heard a Knock on the Door, the muffled voice said Room Service but she could swear it was Icarus. Kida walked over to the door and unlocked it, swinging it open wide. She was eye to eye with her Husband; Her Heart skipped a few beats and a smile was on her face.

The room's door opened and the hazel eyes he faced made his lips lift upwards. Icarus curled his hand around her waist, his grey gaze tattooing her. "I missed you so much." he breathed and leaned over and touched his lips to hers. A deceptively gentle press that, from someone else, would’ve seemed sweet, innocent even, but the heated grip on her waist was something else. Then something squeezed his leg and he looked down. "Daddy!" squealed Scarlet who had wrapped her arms around his leg. "Hello little miss!" he beamed and took Scarlet in his arms to kiss her cheek. "I missed you too!" he tickled her to hear that sweet laughter, always melting his heart. "Have you been taking care of your mother and baby brother like you promised?" he smiled and looked back at Kida who looked great but he could discern her worry. "Come on! Take me to your brother!" he left her back down on the floor and she guided him to his son's crib. The baby looked like his wife but his big, grey eyes were matching Icarus. "Hey buddy!" he took him carefully in his arms and the warmest of smiles melted on his face. He had been away for so long and he wanted to make up for the time he had lost. "He had grown a lot since last time I saw him." he pointed out as he rocked him softly and kissed his forehead. Icarus was a really happy man right now.

His longing to see his family made him forget his luggage outside and the room's door opened. He flicked his wand to summon the luggage inside and the door closed. "Why won't you open the luggage Scarlet? There is something there for you." he mischievously winked to the girl and he followed her with Leonidas in his arms to see Scarlet's face transform as she found out what her present was. "That's right. Now you can build your own Quidditch pitch and have Quidditch matches." he told her as she unwrapped the big package to reveal the board game. Icarus had kneeled beside her and held his son from his arms as he tried to stand and walk. The box except from the parts that could be used for the pitch's construct with many different customization options, had also Quidditch players "See? Different terrains and you can choose from ten different teams. Oh! Look! Daddy is here, mommy as well!"figurines on brooms, representing real life players like him and his wife. He was glad to see his daughter excited over her new toy and Leonidas also clapped his little hands together and started babbling in enthusiasm as Scarlet set both Icarus' and Kida's figurine to fly in the room. Icarus stood up with his son and turned back to his wife. No matter how hard she might was trying to hide it, he knew that she was concerned about tonight's dinner. "Don't worry baby. We'll deal with this together." he reassured his wife and with his free hand cupped her cheek.

With a hand around her waist she felt tingles run up her spine as lips touched hers, she leaned into him and kissed him back. The moment however was short lived as her young Daughter had run full force into Icarus' leg and squeezed. Icarus asked her if she had taken care of her mother and little brother and Scarlet nodded enthusiastically. Both Icarus and Scarlet moved to Leonidas' crib and Kida followed her Son standing on the edge of the crib watching the man who had entered their room. Kida's heart melted as she watched Icarus pick up Leonidas, Both of her Children had picked up her traits but when he was held by his father you could see the similarity between the two, the Grey eyes and skin tone was more like Icarus as well as some facial features. 'Photo's don't do him Justice, He grew so quickly I expect him to be a very tall boy' she said as she moved next to Icarus and gentle brushed her hand through his soft brown hair.

Icarus used his wand to bring the luggage in and Leonidas instantly wanted to grab onto this new stick toy, Kida had taught him to leave her wand alone but this one looked different and in Leonidas' eyes was a completely new toy. Kida couldn't help but giggle at her son who was fixed on the wand but his attention was quickly broken when he saw Scarlet unwrapping a big package containing a Build your Own Quidditch Pitch. Scarlet was delighted, more magical toys to play with. Instantly she had started pulling pieces out to start building things, going right for the Tuscan Charmers players she found her Mother and then went looking for Icarus' player. 'Can I set it up now please Daddy? Mummy?' she asked curiously as she dug into the pitch without even waiting for a confirmation.

Kida hung back and let Scarlet play with her new toy and Leonidas be close to his dad, in the back of her mind she was still concerned with Dinner later that day, she had two children and one wasn't her Husband's. She hadn't traveled with her husband where ever he went to support him instead she stayed at home and trained her Quidditch team and went to work at the Ministry, she knew that Icarus' family was rather old fashioned and weren't huge fan's of muggleborns and it made the butterfly's in her stomach turn into Rocks. Standing silently she caught Icarus' eye as he turned back to her, he must have sensed her uneasiness because he cupped her cheek tenderly.

Kida noticed over Icarus' shoulder that Scarlet had started to spread out all over the floor with her new gift and Kida rolled her eyes 'Sweetheart, you're going to have to pack that up before you go out to Dinner' she reminded her and Scarlet huffed and tried to shuffle everything into the corner. Kida smiled at Icarus and saw Leonidas struggle to hold his head, she ran her hand over his little head again and gently took Leonidas off Icarus' hip and onto her's 'Someone needs a Nap before tonight or else we're going to have a very grumpy boy on our hands' she said as she held one hand out to take Icarus' and lead him towards their room. Once past the threshold she swung the door shut slightly enough to keep an eye on Scarlet but for her not to see in and placed Leonidas down on the bed and made her way over to Leonidas' suitcase and pulled out some comfortably pyjamas for him and held them out to Icarus 'Think you're okay to Change him?' she asked curiously.

Once changed Kida picked Leonidas up and put him down in his bed and spun the mobile attached to the crib which had little quidditch players attached to it. and in a few moments Leonidas was asleep 'Icarus' she said softly as she turned around to see him, but as much as she wanted to she couldn't look him in the eyes 'Maybe it'll be better if just you and the kid's go tonight. I don't want there to be any problems and You know what your family thinks..' Kida wasn't ever one to back down but when her Children were involved she would rather her children grow up not having to know what a burden being born Magical to Muggle parents put upon you. Her family is Magical but a few Squibs in the Family tree had made her Father a Muggle and as her mother was also Muggle and because of that no matter what she could say or prove she was still Born to Muggles.

Toys and gifts couldn't make up for lost time but he could spent some time, maybe tomorrow with Scarlet and built together the best Quidditch pitch. As for his son, he was too young to remember but Icarus didn't want to lose a second from his son's childhood. There were times he was considering of sacrificing his career to be more often with his family. A professional Quidditch player was more than stardom and matches. Good physical and mental conditions were the corner stones of success and while most people could just watch them giving everything they had at the pitch during a match, they were highly unaware of the time they were spending on training. Icarus was pragmatic and knew that he couldn't be a Quidditch player for his whole life. After his early thirties he had to extend his career horizons by choosing to become either a coach or to own a team. He was already considering doing something different after his Quidditch career but he had still a lot of time before him to think of it.

As his wife took him to their room, naughty thoughts races in his mind but he knew they couldn't get real with the children around. Icarus had compromised on the less intimate time he was going to spend with his wife now that they were parents of two young children. His sex drive was killed completely when Kida offered him to change Leonidas. "I can try." he said and took his son from her arms. A clean towel laid itself on their bed and placed carefully his son on it. "Let's see what you have for us." he smiled to his son as he unfastened the tabs on the dirty diaper. "Like father, like son." Icarus bragged with a cheeky smile about his son as he cleaned carefully his front and then his bottom. He then removed the dirty diaper and grasped softly both ankles to gently lift him upward and place underneath then clean diaper. "I think I deserve at least nine out of ten for my first attempt." he said and pulled the front half of the clean diaper up to the baby's belly. "Ready and clean." he smiled and let his wife to put him down in the crib.

Icarus was sitting on the bed when his wife turned around and addressed him. His eyes tried to meet hers but she avoided to look at him. She finally spoke of what she was brooding over. Icarus stood up and wrapped his arms around her in a comforting embrace. "Don't be silly babe." he purred and held her close to him. "They are going to love you. My mother and siblings there simply to love you. I have no doubt about it." he reassured her. "My father is going to be a different story but hey, he has to suck it up like he did when I choose Quidditch or when I did these tattoos." he referred to his right arm which was covered with tattoos from shoulder to wrist. It was an unpleasant surprise for his father when he saw that for the first time back at Icarus' seventeen birthday. "Look at me." he urged her and cupped her face in his hands. "Everything's going to be fine. I promise" he said with his grey eyes oozing affection. His kiss might have been more reassuring than his words but deep inside him, he was sharing the same worry like her. He just couldn't permit himself show that concern to her.

Regardless, Icarus was more positive than before his son's arrival. His relationship with his father wasn't the best one but he knew him pretty well. A male grandchild could make him reconsider his view about this marriage. To his father everything was diplomacy and strategy in order to raise the family's name up. He had insisted Icarus to become a healer just for the status the job would offer. Then he wanted to negotiate a marriage contract with one of his allies' daughters, in order to strengthen the bonds between the families belonging to their coven. Icarus had let down his father's expectations but a grandson was going to bear the family's surname and Icarus was hopeful that this would gratify a little his demanding father. That little man sleeping in that crib could make his father finally accept Kida as part of the family. "I'm a wreck." he complained and lied on the bed throwing his arms over his head. "Any news since I was gone?" he attempted to change the topic to something less worrisome. Icarus enjoyed listening his wife getting passionate over her Quidditch team management.

Standing back she watched with a smile on her face as her Husband successfully changed their son for the first time she rolled her eyes at his quip and shook her head slightly 'Don't look now, But I think you're being a successful Father' she joked before putting Leonidas in his Crib. '9/10 Indeed, Maybe you want to always change him' she said over her shoulder. Leonidas kicked his feet in a small protest but he was tired and clean so he quickly settled down. The Brunette smiled down at him before address her concerns to her Husband.

Icarus always had a way to settle her racing thoughts, she had missed that over the months he had been gone, Leonidas had been the one she talked to and he couldn't understand her yet. 'I feel as if I need to bring a copy of my Family tree to prove my worth to your father' she mumbled as Icarus cupped her face, reassuring her that things will be fine, she looked into his Grey eyes and practically melted. 'Okay, If you think spells and hexes won't be flying then okay, I'll go to dinner' Kida watched Icarus throw his arms over his head on the bed and she sat down and lay down next to him, resting her head on his chest 'Well, I missed you' she started with and placed one hand across his body and gave him a squeeze 'The Charmers are doing great, I re-organized a new training time with them and i'm thinking of appointing an assistant coach to help work with each group so I can have some time off to spend with the children instead of bringing them to Tuscany every other day and leaving them with my Grandparents' Kida knew there was so much to catch up on she wanted to keep to the important details and go into more depth later, she knew Scarlet would want her soon, she would either get hungry or curious. Enjoying the calm rythem of Icarus heart beat she switched topics to the children.

'Scarlet started going to Kindergarten and is apparently exceptionally bright in muggle schooling, I was considering finding her something Magical but I wanted her to have some form of combination upbringing, I had both so why shouldn't she' she sat up slightly and adjusted herself to look into Icarus' eyes 'Oh, all the boys have moved out, at the back of the acreage I built a small collection of Granny flats for each of them but Perseus, he still lives with me ' Kida watched Icarus' expression to make sure she wasn't overloading him with information 'But with him at Hogwarts now the Big House is all to myself and the children' she smiled knowing that Icarus would be glad that they could have some alone time. Kida felt her heart beat a lot faster inside of her chest, she swept her hair out of her face and leaned in and gave Icarus a few soft kisses on his neck before moving up to his jaw line, Everything around her seemed to go silent as she moved a free hand up his chest and onto the other side of his neck and delicately ran her fingers over it. She moved up to Kiss him on the lips when she head Scarlet's voice call them from the other room which brought her right back to reality Kida let her lips linger just above Icarus' 'Welcome to Parenthood' she said softly.

Icarus responded with a cheeky smile to his wife's suggestion for always changing his son. "Nine out of ten is a good score. No reason to break it." he cunningly avoided her offer that would made him do all the dirty work. However, he was eager to split equally the responsibilities of parenthood. He could lift some of the weight of upbringing a baby off Kida's shoulders, especially when she was nervous about tonight's dinner. "You don't have to prove anything. No one is fussy about blood status. My mother is a muggleborn, so you'll have at least one person there to feel for you." he appeased once more her angst in a teasing manner. His father was going to be a hypocrite if he was going to bring on the table the blood status card. No one in his family was prejudice over that matter. It was just that his father wanted deal weddings for his children, with the families constituting the alliance existing for generations. If not that, then any popular wizarding name with a history to support it would be just fine. Obviously, Kida's name fell in none of these two categories.

"I missed you too." Icarus purred as he lied down and locked one arm around her. He was a really sly person for his wife didn't realize he had asked her that question to spill the beans about the team she was coaching. The two of them weren't only married but also competitors on a professional level. This constant, healthy debate over Charmers'and Macaws'performance was enough to excite their senses but today Icarus wasn't going to argue with her or suggest how easily his team was going to beat hers. He slightly smirked when she wasn't looking at his face and she had her head on his chest but he didn't comment. He just made a mental note to just find out who was going to be the new assstant coach she was talking about and what assets could bring to her team.

Then he listened about her decision over Scarlet's education. Icarus couldn't say much on this topic. Scarlet was a daughter to him but since she wasn't his biological child, he couldn't force his opinion to Kida about her proper upbrining. As his wife was telling him about the muggle kindergarten, Icarus thought about the upbringing he wanted for his son. The Stratis were choosing early edification for their children by centaurs. Not only they were taught the essentials about herbology, astronomy and other magical arts at the age of five but they were also introduced to virtues such as modesty and discipline. Icarus hadn't shared this thought with his wife yet as Leonidas was too young but he was slightly curious of what she would think about it. It was going to be easier if his father was going to accept her and their child. He was sure that old Deadalus Stratis would be more than happy to take care of his grandson while he and Kida were busy with their jobs.

His hand caressed her shoulder as he reflected at the news she was sharing. He didn't mind his wife's family. He understood her close bonds with her cousins and half-brother and he was more than fine to have them over to their house. The possible reunion with his family could mean that sometimes they might have to accomodate his siblings as well. His sister for example wanted to move into New Zealand and until she was going to find her own place, Icarus would love to provide accommodation. For now he didn't want to bother his mind with such kind of thoughts. He wanted to relax and get prepared for the forthcoming dinner. His wife might have sensed this need and her lips brushed his neck and sent pleasant goosebumps racing down his body. It was a long minute until their lips greedily met but this didn't last long as Scarlet's voice came from next doors. "Sure. Thank you for torturing me so sweetly." he said and sat up, leaning on his elbows. His eyes were blazing as they followed his wife who went to check upon their daughter. Icarus unwillingly stood up. A warm smile melted on his face as he watched his son sleeping but then went for his luggage. After a really needed cold shower he passed out on the bed.

He woke up hours later completely disoriented. He checked the wrist watch on the bedside table and curse word in Greek slipped of his tongue. "Honey! We must get ready!" he called as he started mussing up the stuff in his luggage in search of appropriate clothes.

Sitting up Kida patted Icarus' leg gently before standing up and going to check on Scarlet, brushing her hands through her long hair as she walked to smooth out any stray strands. Scarlet had set up her Quidditch Pitch and had little characters flying around every, Kida stopped and went up onto her toes to avoid collision with her miniature self 'That doesn't look like packing up' she said as she looked at Scarlet, her Bright Hazel eyes and mischievous grin across her face made Kida shake her head 'C'mon Sweetheart, We have to pick an outfit for you to wear to dinner' upon saying that Scarlet instantly got up and went to run for her room but Kida intercepted by wrapping her arms around Scarlets middle and picking her up with a turn 'Sweetheart, Packing up.' she reminded her as she put her down facing her Quidditch Pitch. Scarlet huffed and went to pack up her her new toys before stomping past Kida to her room but Kida could see the Smirk on her Daughters face.

Following Scarlet into her Room they picked up her suitcase and pulled out some outfits, Scarlet was a fan of dresses but she wasn't a pink kind of girl. Kida pulled out a present wrapped up which contained two piece Skirt and Shirt and put it on the bed 'Why don't you open this and see if you like it' she asked. Scarlet's eyes lit up as she picked up the present and unwrapped it to revel the dress 'It's so Pretty' Scarlet squealed 'Don't crinkle it honey, We still have a few more hours left to go' Kida said watching Scarlet's enjoyment. 'Now let's go find a dress for Mummy, wait here' she said as she walked back to her room and opened her suitcase pulling out three options she had brought with her, she gently put them on the bed and walked to the Bathroom as she heard the shower running and opened the door to the Bathroom and could just see Icarus 'My My, there seems to be a Man in my Shower' she said putting on a fake southern accent, she giggled and quickly shut the door before he could throw soap at her.
Collecting the dresses on her way past she went back to Scarlet's room and put the options on her bed 'Which one' she asked. All options weren't formal but still dressy enough, Option 1 was a simple black dress with white writing on it, Option 2 was another Black and white dress but far more flowy and Option 3 was far more her style, Pants instead of Dresses, she wasn't sure what to wear or if the dinner was going to be super formal, but she always preferred some form of pants especially with her kids around if she had to pick them up she wasn't to do it gracefully. 'Well?' she asked and looked at Scarlet who was studying each outfit closely 'Can We combine them?' Scarlet asked curiously and Kida shook her head, she wasn't sure a skin tight dress with black leggings would look good. Scarlet pondered some more before picking Option 3 'Option 3 it is' Kida said as she kissed Scarlet on the head.

Gathering up the clothes she put both of their outfits in the wardrobe hanging up 'You go have a shower, and I'll come back in and brush your hair' she said from the doorway as she walked back to her room to put the clothes away. She walked in to see Icarus passed out on the bed in a similar position to Icarus in his crib and she stopped for a moment and leaned against the doorway taking in the view of finally walking in and seeing her Husband in their bed. Kida exhaled happily and put her clothes away and walked to the wardrobe and pulled out a spare blanket and draped it over Icarus and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek. She walked back over to Leonidas who was asleep soundly and brushed her hand along his cheek before jumping into the shower herself.

A few hours Later she had Scarlet dressed and Leonidas changed and Dressed as well as herself, Leonidas was wide awake and Kida was walking around with him on her hip, she had some music playing softly in the lounge room and she held one of his hands gently and danced with him, spinning him around slightly and he mumbled in enjoyment. Kida looked at the time and wondered if she should wake Icarus, they were cutting it close but she was sure he would have set an alarm or something. Kida peered into the Bedroom 'Icarus' she said watching him to see if he would stir 'Icarus?' she repeated, she was about to walk in and rouse him from his sleep when Leonidas started to grow grumpy, he wanted to be fed but Kida was waiting for dinner. Making a sad face she quickly walked back into the lounge room and put him on the blanket on the floor and handed him a toy but he still continued to grumble 'Leonidas, please'
Kida heard Icarus call out from the Bedroom 'See, We're about to go, so you better not be grumpy' she said kissing him on the forehead. Kida stood up and walked to the Bedroom to see Icarus tearing through his luggage 'The Kids and I are ready' she said as she walked over to him and knelt next to him trying to get him to calm a bit she kissed him on the cheek 'and i'm sure they'll understand, we can just blame the children' she quipped as she rubbed his back and stood up, walking over to where his shoes are she pulled them out and placed them at the foot of the bed.

Icarus was dressed in no time. He put on dark jeans and a white shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to contentiously display his tattoos. They were going to remind his father, who didn't like them at all, that Icarus was the one calling the shots. It was his life and he did with it what he really wanted. These were the tattoos he so liked to have when he was seventeen and the woman with the two children, waiting for him in the next room, were his new family. Taking a deep breath, he walked in the next room. "They will understand." he reassured her and took Leonidas in his hands."Let's make your grandpa happy. Okay?" he kissed his son and the looked at Kida. "Ready? Everyone, grab my arm." he said and as soon as his wife and daughter's hands grabbed his arm, all four disapparated in a blink of an eye.

For a moment they swirled in a vortex of colors but soon everything took shape again. They ended up in a path going through a vast vine field. No houses were around. Just an enormous manor at the end of the path, hulking at the edge of the cliff, overseeing the caldera. "Home sweet home." he murmured both nostalgically but with a hint of nervousness in his voice. Icarus guided the children and his wife through the field, the manor towering before them as they were getting closer. As they were reaching the open yard, a winged shadow took off from the manor's roof and flew towards them. "Just hold him for a second." Icarus he gave Leonidas to Kida as an intimidating griffin landed before him and its golden eyes suspicious studied them. Icarus took a step forwards in case he had to protect them. "Aetor...it's me...Icarus." he said in Greek and carefully approached the creature with open arms. The griffin remained vigilant for a moment but then pushed softly its head against Icarus' chest and purred loudly. "Hey! You recognized me!" he patted the creature on the head. "They are with me. This is my family." he gestured at Kida and the children behind him. The male griffin's piercing eyes locked at the other humans but it seemed to be understanding Icarus. It left a loud cry and flapped its huge wings to soar back on the manor's terrace. "Security measures." he shrugged and took back his son, hoping that the griffin hadn't scared anyone too much. Now that they were accepted by the creature, the walked through the yard and up the marble stairs. He waited for Kida to stand by his side, both facing the manor's front door. He took her hand and his grey eyes cast on her an encouraging look. "Here we go!" he said and left her hand to knock the ornate door, decorated with carvings of gorgons.

With Scarlet's hand in her's they were facing the Manor which Icarus called home. 'Well, Now that makes my Child Hood home look like a Box' she said looking at the huge Manor, Kida grew up in the suburbs of Australia in the same street as her cousins and would spend her days at their house or playing in the neighbourhood when they weren't watching Her aunt and Uncle perform magic. Icarus passed her Son back to her and she took him, she felt so lost without him after having him around her for so long that when Icarus held him a small bit of her felt like it was missing. When a wing Shadow took off from the roof Kida instinctively drew her wand and moved Scarlet behind her changing her stance so that Scarlet couldn't get hit by any spells. Landing in front of them was a Griffin and Icarus took a Step forward in front of them, he spoke to the beast in Greek and it nuzzled him affectionately before talking to him and identifying Kida and the Children as his Family, The Griffin locked eyes with hers and instinctively her's flashed to her Golden Animagus eyes, The Griffin accepted them and took off back to the Manor. Kida looked at Icarus her eye's still Golden 'I Swear Icarus, If the Scarlet has nightmares or Leonidas is Scarred for like I will personally knock some heads together.' slowly her eyes faded back to her Regular Hazel, Icarus took Leonidas back and Kida took Scarlet's hand in hers and walked up to the Manor.

Moving Next to Icarus Kida leaned in and spoke softly 'Don't put too many noses out of place' she said giving him a gentle nudge with her hip. Kida knelt down next to Scarlet and gave her a quick run down 'Remember Manners and You can Discuss Magic with these people okay, These are Your Dad's Parents, Maybe if things go well you can ask them what you can call them okay Sweetheart.' her voice was warm and comforting as she could see Scarlet could tell she was slightly out of place here just as Kida felt. Standing back up Icarus took her hand in his and knocked on the door. Kida took a deep breath in and waited for the door to open.
