Beauxbatons,PracticeThe cool winter air felt surprisingly good to Grace as she waited for her team to arrive for another practice session. After lazing around for two weeks for the Christmas Holidays, Grace was eager to get started again. She wanted nothing more than to get the team into shape and see them do well during this practice. It still bothered her that the chasers hadn't scored once during the first practice of the year, though she knew it was largely due to Zeke's skills as a keeper.

Grace held her broom ready in her right hand, the crate with the quaffle, bludgers and other supplies on the ground near her feet. She wouldn't hesitate to push the team hard this time, they had to really do their best if they wanted to compete against another school. She waited impatiently for the others to arrive, keeping an eye out especially for her co-captain.

OOCOut of Character:
Alright! So this is my first time doing this, so don't hesitate to point out anything that goes wrong. This practice will be open for two weeks.
I would really appreciate it if every team member posts at least once within this time-span if possible. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to PM me.

Jessica was excited for the first practice of the semester to start back up again. After hearing that Asaiah couldn't play for his team anymore for the remainder of the semester, she didn't want to take her position for granted on her own team. She wouldn't know what to do with herself if she wasn't playing Quidditch. She pulled a beanie on over her pink hair to keep warm in this weather and made her way out to the Pitch. She hoped this practice would go well, she really wanted to be in tip top condition so they could get the chance to play against another school, even though she was bummed Asaiah would not be one of those players. "Hey Grace!" she greeted the girl who she was getting closer to. Jess put her Amethyst Streak and Beaters Bat on the ground so she could pull off her gloves, and waited for the rest of the team to show up.

Peter was eager to get started with their next Quidditch practice, not least because it would be a good distraction from his classes. He'd hardly been back at school long enough to get settled in again and he was already sick of the academic atmosphere. There was only one kind of pressure he wanted to feel, and that was the knowledge that he was one of the only things standing between his teammates and a bludger. Anything else could go shove it right now, as far as he was concerned. As he walked onto the pitch, Peter could see two people gathered already and as he came closer recognised Grace and Jessica. Instead of calling out he just raised his hand in greeting, hoping that the rest of the team would arrive before he would be dragged into any inane chatter.

After the morning jog, Liesl Huberta rushed to the quidditch pitch and ran a few more laps before the co captain; Grace Holland appeared in her sight. The young woman slowly made her way toward the brunette and waved at the two other students who joint the group. She stood quietly somewhere near Grace, swishing her wand and summoned her broom stick. Liesl waited for the instruction as she held on her broom tightly with a little bit of irritation displayed on her face. She wasn't sure what irked her, but she knew that it wasn't because of any of these students.

People that haven't RPed arriving yet: feel free to write your arrival first participation in one post. I just really wanted to get this going so we can get some practice in.

Grace watched her teammates arrive, though she frowned at a few that were late. She didn't comment on that, though. She nodded at Jessica in greeting, but she was in no mood to socialize, it was time to work hard. "No time for chit-chat today. It's time to show us that you guys haven't slacked off too much during the break. I want to see everyone in their best form." She sighed. "We need to show that we are serious about taking on Hogwarts New Zealand if we want to have a shot." She released the bludgers and snitch, taking a hold of the quaffle. "South hoops, let's go." She got onto her broom and kicked off. Once in the air, made her way to the hoops, looking around for one of the other chasers so she could pass the ball. Hopefully they could get past their keeper this time.
Everything is released. For the practice to end: 4 goal blocks for the keeper, 5 scores for the chasers, 3 hits for beaters and 2 snitch catches for seeker.

The co-captain. The one who should be a role model to his teammates was late for their second practice. Ezekiel hopes that his other captain was there to guide the others. A quick change into his casual winter clothes, he haul his ass to the Quidditch pitch with his broom in hand. When he got to the pitch, he didn't like how Grace's expression was. Maybe it's because he was late and the others were already there. Zeke scratched the back of his head, hearing the last bit of her strong speech. He smiled secretly. "Nice speech, captain" Zeke tapped her on the shoulder, it was a gesture for Grace to loosen up. The co-captain mounted his broom and kicked off to the south hoop. He was ready and alert, positioning at the center.

It wasn't long before Beauxbatons would be taking on another school, and Brendan could admit to himself that he was nervous about it. They didn't know how they played over there, how different it could be. While flicking through Quidditch Through The Ages, the boy had found out that the Russian students of Koldovstoretz played the game on entire tree trunks, not the branches he was accustomed to. What if New Sealand was the same? What if they flew on something that wasn't really a broomstick? He had no idea.

Taking to the sky, Fulke focused his attention on the practice, trying his best to push aside his other thoughts. He couldn't be distracted now, and he couldn't be distracted when they versed the other school. Nudging the bow of his broom, Brendan flew close to Grace, giving her the space she needed and signaling that he was available to take possession if she wanted to pass the quaffle.

Grace was relieved to see the other captain arrive, and when he tapped her on the shoulder she felt some tension leave her body. It wasn't until now that she understood that she had been nervous about addressing the whole team, it had probably shown in her speech, and it had been why she had sounded harsher than normal. She smiled at him weakly before she started playing.

Brendan flew close to her and she gave him an approving nod before passing the quaffle on to him. She hoped he would score, it would definitely ease her tension more.

Although Grace had been slightly brusque in getting practice started, Peter was quite glad to kick off as quickly as possible. He felt like he had been slacking off over the break - his definition of slacking off, anyway. He'd almost made his family late to Christmas dinner with his muggle grandparents one of the times he'd tried practicing. Soaring off for a warm up lap or two, Peter kept his eyes trained on the bludgers he could see rocketing about the pitch, and once he felt the opportunity was right dived off course to chase after one, intending to whack it away from where the team was concentrated. It was too quick for him, however, and he scowled as his bat whistled through empty air.

With an appreciative nod, Brendan's fingertips made contact with the quaffle that Grace had passed toward him, moving to curl it under one arm as he pressed onwards, jetting towards the hoops at the other end of the field. He dodged and weaved through the air in his approach, hoping to break Ezekiels guard of any one hoop, until finally entering the scoring zone and letting the leather bound ball loose. His well practiced throw sent if whistling through the air - and cleanly into the far right hoop! "Yes!" The boy whooped, pleased to have gotten off to a decent start already. He could only hope to keep it up for the rest of the practice.

Valor was always normally late to the party, needing Quidditch now that his best friend dropped out of school. So, Valor needed a distraction. He watched as Brendan scored, which made the seventh year smile. He waited around to see if it would be thrown out to him or if someone else wanted to be able to try to score first. Valor hoped that this would be a good practice. He was down and needed this to distract him.

Jessica felt the pressure as Grace began the practice but nodded affirmatively to let the girl know she was listening and going to take this seriously. Once the balls had been released, the pink haired girl mounted her broom and kicked off the ground hard. Jess took a few laps around the pitch first, in search of a bludger and chased after one. Once she was close enough she swung her bat and hit the ball successfully toward the chaser with the ball. Jess pumped her fist happily even though she did feel bad for hitting it towards her teammate. It would be worth it when practice paid off and she was aiming with precision at their opponents instead.

Grace was trying hard to both keep an eye on all her teammates and focus on the practice game, it was quite difficult. She watched Peter miss a bludger but then Brendan scored! Grace grinned and gave him a high five as she passed him. "Good going!" She zoomed to get the ball and passed it to Valor, she wanted everyone to get a turn today. Before she could see how he reacted to the quaffle being thrown at him, a bludger hit her. She gasped and grimaced, it had hurt. But she tried not to let it show too much, this was part of the game too and if Jessica would hit like this during their actual game, it would be perfect. After a moment of recovery from the pain of the bludger, she gave Jessica a rather weak smile and a thumbs up. Then she turned to see what Valor would be doing, one hand rubbing her side where the bludger had grazed her.

Peter kept an eye on the rest of his team-mates as he flew around looking for another chance with the bludger. He was glad this practice seemed to be going better for the chasers, although he would never complain about Zeke's skill as a keeper. For himself, however... he wanted to step it up. Seeing a chance Peter flew towards the nearby bludger, but it had caught on to his attempt at surprise and once again his bat failed to connect.

Fulke enthusiastically high-fived Grace as they passed, but not moments later he watched as she was hit by a bludger that one of the beaters had sent her way. His face flushed red and his eyebrows furrowed, annoyed that it wasn't one of the boys who was targeted instead, or even one of the other bludgers loose on the field. "You alright?" He asked, flying around Grace to make sure she wasn't too badly injured. The last thing they needed was her taken out of the practice match. At the very least, he hoped Jessica could keep up her aim when it came to the New Zealand team.

Grace was getting ready to approach Valor as he held the quaffle, but was pleasantly surprised by Brendan asking if she was okay. She nodded with a slightly pained smile. It was sweet of him, though he should also be paying attention to the game to avoid getting hit himself. Not all bludgers came from beaters, after all. "I'm fine!" She told the redheaded boy before returning her attention on the game. She sped to Valor and hoped to surprise him by taking the quaffle from him, it wasn't something you could expect from a teammate but it was something you could expect from the opposing team. "Be on your guard." She told the boy before speeding to the hoops. It was the first time during the practice she would try to score herself, and after Brendan succeeded she didn't want to fail. She threw it, and watched as it sailed to the hoops and grimaced as it was blocked by Ezekiel. Her heart sank, was she the worst chaser on this team? She quickly tossed the ball to the next person, flying away under the pretense of checking up on their seeker.

OOCOut of Character:
I'm extending practice by 4 days, since HNZ is so busy right now with valentine's day stuff. It closes on the 17th instead of tomorrow, so if you want to get more actions in before then, please do!

Jess winced as the ball she had targeted ended up hitting Grace because she had moved and passed the ball to Valor but the girl didn't seem to be too hurt. She mouthed a quick 'Sorry!' at Grace before the girl sped off after the Quaffle again. Jessica circled the pitch in search of any bludgers that might be heading towards her teammates and saw one was heading towards Brendan. The pink-haired girl zoomed forward on her broom, willing it to go faster, and managed to get there in time to smack the bludger away from the boy before it hit him. The bludger went rocketing off in the other direction and Jess grinned triumphantly.

Valor was a little surprised with the captain took the ball from him. He needed to get his head in the game. However, the keeper blocked her shot, which meant a lot to the keeper. He had good skill then. Valor stuck around in case he was needed, which came sooner than he expected since he caught the ball again, this time taking a death grip on it. He was just so worried over Dove. Thankfully, he graduated this year to see where she vanished off to. No, he needed to focus. Valor started to fly away before swerving back around, since he didn't want to just throw it in right after.

As practice wore on, Peter's mouth had become set further into a thin, grim line. Mostly he was frustrated at himself and though he tried to remain unaffected by his bad hit record so far, it was getting increasingly more difficult to do now that he had just missed another bludger.

Brendan was relieved to hear that Grace was fine, but his brief distraction almost cost him a bludger of his own, if not for Jessica's intervention. He blinked in surprise, before giving the girl a quick thumbs up to thank her. Turning in the air, he watched as the quaffle was taken from Valor, dismayed when the following shot blocked by the keeper. As Valor took possession of the ball again, Fulke followed closely behind, looking for an opportunity to take it from him.

The first shot was a fail on his part for not blocking it and that didn't scars his belief that he will not block the next one or the third one but he did anyways and he was thankful for that. Ezekiel tossed back the quaffle in the game and gaze upon each of his players. The boy was worried about one of their beaters who seems to have having problems with hitting. Maybe he needs to have a talk and a session with Peter before their game two months from now against Hogwarts New Zealand. Although, it wasn't just Peter but their seeker as well who seems to have a no sight of the snitch. Zeke sigh and continue to focus on the practice.

Valor arrived at the goals and let the ball loose. It soared through the hoop and he pumped his fist into the air. Finally, he was back in the game. Nah, before he was just getting warmed up.

Brendan was pleased to see Valor score a goal, but he wasn't sure if it meant they were doing well as chasers, or if Ezekiel was off his game as a keeper today. Taking possession of the quaffle as it was thrown back into play, the boy lapped at half pitch, wanting to give himself enough distance to come in and make a shot.

Jess felt that all the playing she had done over the break with Asaiah was paying off because she had made every hit so far. But she didn't want to interfere with the game until she needed to so she flew above the rest of the players for now and circled the pitch, keeping an eye out to see if there were any bludgers coming their way for her to stop.

Brendan came in strong, entering the scoring zone for a second time and letting the quaffle fly into the most vulnerable hoop. The leather bound ball whistled through without a problem, and the redheaded boy cheered, feeling more confident in himself than before.
