As far as Blake was concerned, tonight was his redemption. It had been a year now since he had accidentally driven his reputation into the ground, and he had worked hard to rebuild it to where it should be. A year ago he had been on top. Dating one of the most popular girls in school, an undisputable Quidditch champion, taking his rightful place as king of the school. Kissing Sierra had been a stupid mistake, and it had cost him almost everything. The kiss that had really hurt though had been later the same evening, and it was something Blake still couldn't bring himself to think about. He had ruined everything with his best friend, the one person who should have been by his side in his darkest time, and Blake could only count himself lucky that Tyler hadn't told anyone.
Now, though, he was rebuilding. He was captain of the Quidditch team, back in the limelight for his successes rather than his failures, and to his relief he had been able to put the charm that had worked so well on Alice to work again, and convince one of the prettiest girls in his year to attend the ball with him. Walking into the Great Hall arm in arm with Thyonia, Blake could tell they looked every bit the part. Like an old timey knight and princess. Nothing was going to stand in his way this time. He could make this work, forget all about how it had felt to kiss Tyler, and get back to where he was supposed to be. Be a version of himself who would make his dad proud. He smiled at Thyonia, hoping people were looking as he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles. "You look beautiful." He said softly, layering on the charm. "What do you want to do first?"
