Freddie stepped out of the hospital wing, catching the door so it wouldn't slam. He was thinking about where to go next when suddenly he saw a face that felt important for some reason. Was Teddy Pirrip on his list? Oh - he was! That was easy. Freddie headed toward him, slowing down the closer he got. What was he gonna say? Teddy was Professor Pirrip's son. He was a prefect, and, like, cool, and he had nice hair. Freddie knew all that, but Teddy probably didn't even know his name. He was just a first year with an orange juice stain on his shirt and a rose.

He was standing right behind him now. "Rose," he said. He poked the boy's elbow. "Teddy. Rose."​

Teddy loitered near the hospital wing, debating if his elbow warranted a visit. It wasn’t broken he didn't think and definitely not dislocated, but the spot where the quaffle had slammed into him was really painful and he wondered if he should get someone to at least look at it. As he hesitated, something jabbed right into the sore spot. He grimaced from the pain and clutched his elbow to his chest. Teddy was never poked, but that one time he is injured, that's exactly where he's poked. Typical, he thought. Rubbing at it, he turned to see a first year with a rose for him. "Oh right, yeah thanks."

Freddie dropped his hand. Did he hurt him? He didn't poke him that hard, he thought, but now Teddy was rubbing his elbow like it was sore. Maybe he'd scratched him with his nail, or something. Suddenly feeling hot all over his face, Freddie held out the yellow rose.​
