With Patrick's sister having graduated, Patrick was quite anxious for what was ahead during this new year at school. It meant that he didn't have someone to look up to and ask for help when taking notes for classes. On top of that, his step-sister had now joined the school and he wasn't sure whether or not to be happy about that. After all, he wondered how she would cope with everything and hoped that she wouldn't annoy him too much as he tried to study. It was hard to get rid of distractions and he hoped that her being there wouldn't make much difference to anything, especially considering she was in both a different house and year. The boy woke up that morning however in a good mood and decided not to wait for Wilfred to go to breakfast. After all, he felt older now and his stomach could not wait any longer. He made his way down to the Great Hall and took a seat at the Hufflepuff table, placing some food onto his plate. There were definitely some new and nervous faces around the table and Patrick gave them a small smile, hoping it would help them feel a bit more comfortable.

Alexis was on her way to the Great Hall for breakfast. She was supposed to wait for Stella but could not endure the hunger anymore. Since her roommate was still asleep, she decided to go ahead and had her fill. As she was walking along the corridor, she could not help but think over the past couple of weeks. She still needed to get used to the idea of being a second year. On top of that, she was surprised to hear her cousin's name during the Sorting Ceremony. Sure, she knew that she would be starting school this year but Alexis thought that she would be going to Hogwarts Scotland or Durmstrang. The only thing she was relieved of was that Talitha was placed in Hufflepuff. Not that she did not want her in Ravenclaw but the young Courage was not exactly fond of her company. This even confused Alexis more.

Reaching the massive hall, Alexis strained her eyes and checked if her other Ravenclaw friends were already at their table. Simon was not yet there and all she could see were the Westwick twins. Next, Alexis glanced at the Gryffindor table to see whether Jocelyn and Kendji were there. Finding none of them, she opted to check Hufflepuff table, not for Talitha but for either Nixon or Gabriella. Thank heavens, Talitha was not yet even there yet. They were not yet there but Patrick was already there. With a wide smile, she bounded over to her friend and playfully tapped his shoulder. "Hey,Pat! Mind if I join you for breakfast?", she asked as she smiled at her friend who was already sat down and had food on his plate.

The young part-veela had woken up early in the morning, not satisfied to spend the day lazing around. He went for a run, a rather short one, then showered, got dressed for the day and was right at the libraries doors as they opened. He had a few books to collect before he could even get started, so by the time he was done there, the boy was hungry as anything. He walked down from the library books under his arm and walked into the great hall, the smell of breakfast wafting over him. Simon ran a hand through his auburn hair as he looked towards the ravenclaw table intending to go sit there when he spotted Alexis and Patrick sitting at the Hufflepuff table. He knew Patrick fairly well, they were friends, occasionally sat together and the same could be said for Alexis, though given they shared a house, he knew her a little better. Figuring that it would be a good way to continue his day he walked over, sitting himself down on the table in front of them with a warm greeting to both, "Morning," he placed the books down on the table beside him and had already pulling toast on to his plate and pouring himself some juice, "I am so hungry! They've got to start serving breakfast earlier,"

Now that Athena was in her second year, she no longer felt annoyed about the fact that some if not most older students had thought of her as a child, last year. Now there was a new batch of first years including her cousin and Athena was really happy that Lavinia was here. Finally, besides her twin who she saw all the time, there was someone here to whom she could tell anything. Athena was at the hufflepuff table chatting to her cousin about the school and other general, useful information, when someone next to her spoke up, and the girl was curious as to what they were talking about. It was an opportunity to introduce herself again despite her already knowing their faces. They were in her year. She glanced at the boy with red hair, Simon she thought his name was and she nodded. "Hey guys," she flashed them all a smile. "They really do need to do that," Athena agreed, genuinely wondering why breakfast couldn't be early. Athena herself was an early riser and she normally got hungry when she woke up.

Patrick had a pleasant surprise as Alexis greeted him and nodded at her question. "Yes, you may." Patrick replied, giving her a friendly smile. It was always good to have a friend to eat breakfast with and he figured that he didn't even need to wait for Wilfred at all as he had other friends he could spend his time with and was thankful for that. When Simon came over, Patrick beamed. "Good morning!" he exclaimed, watching as he placed some books on the table. He nodded at his comment. "What are you reading?" Patrick asked and jumped when yet another person in their year joined them. "Hello Athena." he greeted before pouring himself a glass of pumpkin juice. The Hufflepuff knew Athena from his classes and smiled at her, glad to welcome his friends to the Hufflepuff table, despite them being from different houses.

Alexis' smile became brighter as she took a seat beside Patrick. Just as she was about to reach for a toast, Simon took the place in front of them, greeting them in the process as he placed his books on the table. With a laugh, Alexis reached for the toast on Simon's plate while her fellow Ravenclaw was pouring himself some juice. "Thanks, Simon. Good morning to you too.", she jokingly said. "If you're hungry then I'm starving." She laughed. As soon as she said those words, Athena from Slytherin joined them. "Hey, Athena. Hungry already?", she greeted the girl with a smile. She knew Athena from the classes they shared but this would be the first time they would speak outside of classroom setting.

After placing a new toast on Simon's plate and pouring her own juice, she glanced sideways at Patrick when he asked Simon what he was reading. She tried checking the book title only to find out that there were more than one beside Simon's plate.

Simon watched surprised at the toast being snatched off his plate. He wasn't annoyed by it but he was certainly surprised. He didn't really even have time to respond when another girl, Athena if he remembered her name correctly sat down with them. The ravenclaw took another, new slice of toast, "Oh it's the defence against the dark arts book for second years," he told them, glancing at the book as he popped some toast into his mouth, "Getting a head start," Simon glanced between them as he said this a smirk on his face. The part veela was definitely keen to just get started on the reading for their upcoming classes, if he was to repeat his grades from last year then he needed to study, he needed to be on top of things, he needed to win at it. Simon had not done the best in the school, but he hadn't been that far from it, and this year he would get it. The ravenclaw took his juice and took a sip, "Any interesting holidays?" he asked the others, the part-veela glanced between them as he spoke, he didn't have anything particularly interesting to report from his holiday, he had read school books, played some sports, relaxed a little and they had no visited anywhere. But, perhaps these other people would have more, or just things of bigger interest than him.
