He didn't mind babysitting Kenna and Ignatius, but with a paper due next week on motion planning, Aodhan needed all the free time he could get his hands on. Not that he was planning on working on the paper today though, he had invited Lily over to hang out whilst he was babysitting his cousins and doubted that she would know anything about motion planning - she was studying something else after all. It wouldn't hurt to ask, however, he'd take all the help he could get at this point. While he enjoyed university, especially the parties and the basketball, he found himself struggling to keep up already. ''No, Kenna, that's Iggy's stick.'' he said at seeing how Kenna took Ignatius' pretend wand away from him, and hurriedly walked over towards them so he could give the stick back to his cousin. He loved them, he really did, but would have loved to have Keanu or Ferrah over to help him out in taking care of two three-year-olds. Aodhan wasn't a fan of wiping their poopy butts. He glanced down at his watch, thankfully she would almost be here.

Lily had been a little surprised when Aodhan had asked her to come over, but then again they obviously knew one another from Hogwarts, and after finding out they attended the same university in America, it was as though they shared this little secret between them while living in a world of muggles. She'd barely spoken to the boy while at the wizarding school, but now she appreciated having someone around that understood what it felt like to go from Hogwarts to something completely different. She had dressed in simple jeans and a jumper, wondering what it was Aodhan wanted to do today. If nothing else though, Lily was just grateful to have someone she could speak honestly too. After hearing some of her new school mates chatter about their previous experiences, it had been hard to tell them how her own secondary school had been. She knocked on the door, waiting for the boy to answer and hoping that he felt similarly to her, and that this afternoon was going to be relaxing and rewarding.

One second Ignatius was holding something between on pudgy little hand, the next, it had vanished. He looked up to see his sister had snatched his wand just as he was trying to hit the teddy with it, just like mom used to do when she wanted something tidied. His face scrunching just as a waterfall of tears threatened to spill onto his cheeks, he watched as the other boy Aody took it off Kenna and handed it back to him. It was just made a plastic and it was technically much too thick to be a real wand, but it meant that when Iggy tried to eat it, there was very little worry involved. His face softened instantly as his cousin returned to him his personal belonging, glad for it to be back in his possession, when he heard a noise, "Door!" he said, pointing one little finger towards the front door. Rolling over onto his knees, quickly getting up onto two feet, the toddler proceeded to waddle his way across the carpet, arms up high in the air as he tried to reach for the door handle. Maybe Mommy was back and had some nice food for him.

Kenna too wanted to hit the teddy bear with the stick so did what she would always do and took Iggy's stick from him. Before she could even raise her little arm, however, the stick was already taken away from her by her cousin. She pouted at him. If only she could remember where she had put hers. It had not been exactly fair of her parents to give one to Ignatius and have her play with a twig or whatever instead, but seeing as Kenna had a tendency for losing all of her toys, both parents decided that she wouldn't get anything new until she would learn to store her things away properly rather than just letting go of the toys and thinking that she'd get them again later. She jerked her head around after hearing a knock and followed her brother towards the door, though waited in the hallway for her cousin instead of reaching for the handle like Iggy.

He turned around as well when he heard the knock on the door, and smiled because he knew who'd be on the other end of it. He passed Kenna into the hallway and stopped when he reached the door. He always checked if his cousin was there with him before opening it. The student looked down at Ignatius with a soft smile on his face before saying, ''Not so fast, mister,'' and picked Ignatius up to put him onto his shoulders. He generally liked that Iggy loved the outdoors, it gave him a reason to spend some time outside, away from the mess and the smell of what he only thought could be poop inside, but then there were moments like this when Iggy tried to reach for the door handle - something told him that he didn't think that Eryk and Liberty would let him stay over during the weekends if he lost one of their children. Holding on to little Iggy's leg, Aodhan opened the door and smiled once more. ''Hey, Lily! Cool, you could make it, come in!'' he stepped aside for her.

Lily straightened her jacket and shook the hair out of her face as she waited for the door to open. She could see a few shadows on the other side and briefly frowned for a moment as she wondered what was going on, but no sooner as she had, the door swung open and she was smiling widely at Aodhan. This dipped somewhat when she realised there was both a small child attached to his head, and one a few feet away behind him. She’d been unaware that they wouldn’t have been by themselves today, and to say she wasn’t good with children was an understatement. “Hey!” She tried to keep calm as she stepped past, looking round the room to see what kind of place the Kaelens had going on. She only stayed in the Uni dorms herself so it was a nice change for her to get out and about and in a proper house for a while. “I didn’t know you were entertaining,” she mentioned, glancing in turn between the two tiny people in the room with a nervous smile, hoping either of them were going to talk to her. “This is still a good time, right?” She asked, unsure if they’d been sprung on him unexpectedly.

Iggy was pretty sure that when the door opened he was going to be able to explore. He wanted to find some puddles to splash his bare feet in, knowing full well he’d get a bath soon after. Just as Aody came over though, he was scooped up, and his arms landed in some brown fluff, which the three year old began to run his hands through. He slapped it a few times too just to be sure it was solid, but then the door really did open and he watched as another person came into the room. He tried to kick his legs to get free but since one was being held onto, only one actually moved. He didn’t know who this person was but he was very excited to have someone else to go exploring with. “You go!” He called out to her, hoping that she would agree and take him outside.

Kenna stared at the door when her cousin was busy with Iggy. Although Kenna did not have an understanding of time just yet, she knew that it couldn't be mommy or daddy on the other side because the sun was still shining brightly, and mommy and daddy usually came home when it was getting dark outside. She continued to stare when the door was open and took a few steps forward at the sight of a woman. Kenna did not know who she was, she had never seen her face before or recognised her voice. She did not like strangers into her house so cautiously, without keeping her eyes of the unknown woman, walked over to her cousin and tugged the end of his jeans ''Who?'' she said and pointed at the woman.

Aodhan tugged on Iggy's leg when the boy was slapping his head. ''No slapping,'' he told him, looking up at Ignatius. He then turned back to his friend as she stepped into the house. ''I may or may not have been keeping that from you when I invited you over,'' Aodhan told Lily. Part of the reason why he had invited her to come and hang around was so that he didn't have to bore himself with stupid university stuff whilst babysitting the twins. He could only hope that she wouldn't mind the fact that they wouldn't be alone today. ''It is, thank you for coming over,'' he added. Surely there was plenty of other stuff she could be doing during the weekend, so was happy that she accepted his invite instead. He laughed a little when Kenna asked who Lily was, and went down on one knee carefully, still holding onto Iggy's leg. ''This is Lily. She's my friend,'' he replied, smiling at Kenna before standing up straight again. He walked back into the living room and motioned for Lily to follow him. ''Please, make yourself comfortable.''

Lily smiled through the pain. She wished he had told her because then at least she could have been semi prepared to spend the day with some tots too. The kids were all over him too, which she had no doubt was going to make the conversation more difficult to follow too if they were getting interrupted every few seconds. Smiling nervously at the youngsters, removing her jacket. “I bet having some adult company keeps it balanced does it?” She joked, wondering if that was the main reason he’d wanted her over. “What are their names?” She asked, hoping they weren’t going to be unusual and obscure that she’d end up forgetting them as quickly as she was told.

Asides from being told to stop slapping his cousin, Iggy was more or less being ignored by these people. I’d they were just going to talk about boring things then he wanted to get down so he could go and go something fun instead. He began to wiggle about and whine in the hopes that Aody would let him go. He didn’t want to meet these new people, and if the new lady wasn’t going to let him out either then there was no reason to say. He was watching his sister too who seemed much more cautious of the woman and maybe he should have been too. His wiggling intensified as the boy wanted to go to his sisters side; of nothing else he had to go and be with her to look after her too.

Aodhan could see that his friend didn't particularly like that his cousins were around, and he couldn't blame her for that as he too would mind it for sure. They could be loud and annoying at times so the boy hoped that they would behave themselves now that she was here. ''That and the fact that I actually like having you around,'' he told Lily with a slight grin. He then noticed that Ignatius was starting to wiggle about and whine and looked up at him, wondering what was wrong now. He was about to ask what was the matter when he saw that Iggy was watching his sister, and instantly knew that he wanted Aodhan to let him go. ''Alright then, there you go,'' he said as he put his cousin back down on the ground again. ''Go play with your sister,'' he added and straightened up, looking back at Lily. ''That little bugger,'' Aodhan pointed at Ignatius, ''is Iggy, and the one watching you is Kenna. Don't mind her, please, she's just protective of her brother.'' He thought that it was kind of sweet for Kenna to want to protect Iggy from strangers. He walked back to the couch and closed the textbooks on the table, thinking that studying could wait for a bit. ''Can I offer you something to drink?'' he asked, turning back to his friend.

Kenna didn't know anyone named Lily so continued to watch the older girl as she moved through the house, unsure yet whether she was friend or foe. Her cousin seemed to know the girl which would normally be enough for her but now her parents weren't there with them to protect them from anything bad. She watched as Aodhan let to of Iggy and smiled, knowing that Iggy probably wanted to play with her while the big people did their thing. Once Ignatius was with her, Kenna turned away from the two adults only to glance back at them every once in a while.
