Avatar KBs?

Hi there,

So I recently found a gif for my avatar that was under 80kb and the rules state that it has to be 100kb or lower but when I tried to upload it from my saved documents it said that the maximum as 30kb so I was wondering which one the maximum/

If you're uploading an avatar, the maximum is obviously what the system describes.
If you're linking to an avatar hosted elsewhere than HNZ - the maximum is the one listed in the rules (chosen in consideration of those with slower internet connections - some people have used .gif avatar files upward of 1MB which is just insanity).
