Elio grinned at Mikael, he was so excited that Rhys was here now and they were going to have a great time as Elio would show him around the castle. "Rhys!" He called to his brother, pointing him out at the end of the Ravenclaw table sitting with the other first years. "Rhys, this is so cool! Just like Bryce!" Elio had never called the man his dad, mostly because he had come into his life a little later than most fathers came into their kids lives. Elio knew Bryce wasn't his real dad, but he was very much treated like a dad, except that he didn't call him a dad, it had just never quite felt right, even if he didn't know anything about his dad. He took a seat next to his brother, forcing some other kids to shuffle up. "Let me see your schedule, what do you have first?" Potions, transfiguration, Astronomy and Herbology, decent first semester. "Ah, Herbology is up first, fair warning the professor for that is useless," he said, shaking his head at the thought of Professor Carter. He glanced over to Eury and frowned. He should have dealt with her better.

@Rhys Chamberlin @Julian Nightray @Mikael Nightray

Rhys Chamberlin hated that he was so much younger than his big brother, but oh well. He looked up through his glasses when he saw Elio coming his head, but faded when he saw the other. He was sitting next to Julian, a boy from his dorm that he had quickly befriended. He adjusted his Ravenclaw tie, since he might have purchased one ahead of time. He knew that he would follow after Bryce and Beau. "What's wrong with Herbology? I mean, the professor?" Rhys cocked his head to the side, since he did not know anything about the professors. Beau told him that the turnover was so bad, that he doubted that they would have any in common. "Elio, why did you have to bring him along? He literally looks like someone stuck a tree limb up his bum all of the time." Rhys, similar to Bryce, was a little bit blunt.

Mikael did not like surprises. One cannot plan for surprises very well. He could plan for them to a degree but he really had to admit that no one could plan for Theodore. He would have to check with that particular brand of migraine if his parents knew he was here because he was pretty sure Aunt Mikaela would have let his dad know if one of the twins would be coming. Though the fact that Althea wasn't here was already quite telling. And then the other surprise was Julian being here. As far as he knew, Julian was supposed to be attending Hogwarts Scotland like his siblings were. To have him here was both a surprise and not completely unexpected. Laurent's doing. If Mikael was lucky, he was just paranoid. If he wasn't, then Julian was definitely sent to spy on him. He glared at his first year cousin, though, that was quite difficult considering he's sat down at the table on Rhys' other side. He was snapped out of his glaring when Rhys decided to complain about his presence. He raised an eyebrow at the younger boy's description of him. "You'll be surprised -," and a hand comes up to slap his mouth shut, stopping anything else he had to say.

It was a relief for Julian to be sorted into Ravenclaw, he didn't think he would be let back home if he'd gotten sorted into Gryffindor, or worse, Hufflepuff. Father might just disown him right then and there. It was just unfortunate that the Sorting Hat hadn't let him into Slytherin and made his life so much easier. He would have to figure out a way to get information on Mikael. For now though, he was smiling a little as he got to know the boy sitting beside him - a new friend perhaps. One named Rhys Chamberlin. They hadn't been talking for very long when an older Gryffindor suddenly arrived. With Mikael in tow. Julian's eyes widened as he watched the older Gryffindor just drag his cousin. His cousin who was now glaring at him, making him try to be as small as possible and hide behind Rhys. Judging by the glare, it looked like his cousin already knew why he was here. If it was surprising to see Mikael being dragged, it was even more of a shock to see the Gryffindor just touching the Slytherin. It was common knowledge that most if not all of the children of the Nightray patriarch and matriarch were averse to touch. No one came near them in any gathering or they would be subject to a verbal lashing. And yet, that wasn't the case here. "You know them?" he whispers to Rhys because apparently Rhys knew both the Gryffindor and Mikael.

"Well," Elio started, about to launch into the entire sordid story about Eury and the fact she and the Head of House didn't get on, that no one in this school seemed to care what was going on under their noses when Rhy seemed to notice that Elio wasn't alone, noticing Mikael behind him. He was about to jump in to defend Mikael when he quickly slapped his hand over Mikael's mouth, thinking it better that whatever else he was about to stay remain in his head, and not out here in the open where anyone (impressionable young minds for example) could hear it. "Doesn't matter, he's my boyfriend Rhys and you'll just have to get used to him, besides, he's nice, I promise." He wasn't sure why Rhys didn't like him, because they'd never spent any time together, or maybe that was why? Since he didn't know Mikael pretty much at all. He realised there was another boy there and turned to see a red head, that... sorry, was Mikael glaring at this kid? "Oi," he said, smacking Mikael on the chest to get his attention (not hard, but it would be a bit of a shock for Julian probably) "why you are staring at a first year, what's going on? Rhys who's your friend?"

Rhys raised an eyebrow when Elio immediately stopped Mikael from talking. Now there was an idea. Just someone do that the entire time he was with Elio. That would make his existence so much more appealing to the young Ravenclaw. Rhys turned his head to the side when Julian asked if he knew them. He nodded, "Elio is my older brother. Half-brother technically. And that grump is his boyfriend." The tone that he used was civil starting out, but the more he spoke, the less it was. Rhys furrowed his eyebrows because of what Elio said to him. He is nice? He scoffed, a little dramatically, but it was definitely with attitude. He did not believe that for a moment. Mikael, nice? Hell no. There was no way. Rhys gestured to Julian, "He is my best friend. We met on the train, got sorted into the same house so now we share a room. His name is Julian."

Mikael couldn't help but snort at the gleaming endorsement from his boyfriend and the skeptical look on both boys. Besides, the endorsement doesn't quite work since both Rhys and Julian have quite the opinion of him already. Rhys' was apparently a "grump". He didn't know what exactly Julian thought of him, but he wouldn't put stock in it much. Julian was a Pureblood and the brother of the two newest heirs. Laurent would have had opinions he would have no doubt shared with his progenies. He turned to look at Elio as he smacked his chest before returning his gaze to his cousin after Rhys' introduction. "Julian is my cousin who I believe should've gone to Hogwarts Scotland with his siblings," he said as he stared at Julian intently, willing him to reveal exactly why he was here.

It was just about this time that Julian realized he had never been around this much people. Or at least talking to this many people. His siblings tended to ignore his presence and the less said about how Father viewed him, the better. The only person he could usually talk to was his mother. He didn't really have any friends back at the Manor. Despite living in the same manor, he rarely sees the other cousins, mostly because each family had their own wing. He'd really only see anyone if they went to the Greenhouses, but most of his family didn't tend to frequent the area. So he'd never really interacted with Mikael prior to this, just kind of saw him from afar in some events. He squirmed and swallowed under the heir's gaze, it was unnerving despite the fact he believed Sebastian and Evelyn can beat this person. "I... I can... I can go to any school I want," he said because he wasn't about to admit to Father sending him here to watch over the Slytherin. He didn't even want to know what Mikael would do to a spy. "Boyfriend?" he whispered to Rhys curiously. He was pretty sure he nor Father had known of Mikael having anyone before. A boyfriend. He was going to have to tell Father.

Elio was at least glad that Rhys was already making friends. It could be hard coming into a new school and he didn’t want Rhys to struggle. Elio had been incredibly lucky when he’d gotten to the school he’d already known a couple of people, so he hadn’t had to think about it too much. “Half brother, full brother, adopted brother, it’s all the same Rhys, it doesn’t matter, we were raised as family that’s the only important thing,” he said, flicking Rhys in the ear. “It’s nice to meet you Julian. Don’t listen to Mikael, I’ll sort him out don’t worry,” he said, reaching out his hand for Julian to shake because the kid looked like he wasn’t entirely sure if he should run or dig a hole in the middle of the table. Not that Elio could blame him, Hogwarts could be a bit scary for sure.
