Ariana woke early in the morning. The Los Angeles sunlight pierced through the cracks in her curtains and forced her to arise. She slipped her dressing gown onto her slim frame and headed downstairs. The penthouse apartment that she shared with her Aunt was empty. She smiled as she unfolded the copy of the U.S Prophet that lay on the counter. Ariana poured herself a steaming mug of coffee as she scanned the front page for any pressing headlines. She was greeted with the usual mundane news, Minister of Magic elections heating up., Los Angeles Hit Wizard tried for crimes against Muggles, U.S national Chaser missing - Day 5. It was the final headline that drew her eye. She read on.

Ryan Hunter. Reserve chaser for the United States national Quidditch team was reported missing five days ago at Twenty minutes past eleven. Helena Halliwell, Supervisor of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement squad tasked with finding the Quidditch star has refused to make a statement regarding the current state of the investigation. I myself believe that it is a conspiracy committed by the team itself to get rid of a player they deem unfit to wear the U.S robe. Keeping you up to date with the gripping investigation. I'm Emmanuel Pike.

Ariana tutted as she folded the paper again and sipped her coffee. Pike had been a thorn in her Aunt's side ever since she had gained authority within the Department. Ariana pulled out her wand from her dressing gown and with a wave she banished the paper to waste basket. She only had a couple of days left before she headed to New Zealand's Obsidian harbor for her school supplies and she was excited. Ariana had spent one year at the Salem Witches institute in Massachusetts but her Aunt pulled her out after the school was slated by the Department of Magical Education in the annual educational review. Since then she had been home schooled by her aunt who managed to balance her niece's education and her beat in the Department of Magical Law enforcement patrol. However since her promotion she has been unable to keep up tutoring so rather than have Ariana enroll in a substandard U.S school she enrolled her at Hogwarts New Zealand.

The morning was somewhat uneventful, so rather than sit around listening to the WWN Ariana dressed into muggle attire. A skirt and black vest. Nothing too fancy as all she wanted to do was take a walk down to the park a few blocks from her apartment. Once in the park, she could only grin at how empty it was. She sat on one of the many swings and just watched the world go by.

Felicity Castillo has yet to get use to the ever changing of the Los Angeles weather. It's never like home, well it's not home to put it simple. Home was in Cuba, where she was born and raised just last year ago, she remember the Cuban soil. How it felt, how it made her feel completely whole again. Now separated by the ocean, she can't help that her heart wasn't in the lands of America. But where her father was still residing, divided away from his family, what she miss the most was papi and singing. Los Angeles lack them both. She miss home terribly like the skies would miss the sun.

" Felicity Castillo" she heard her mom voice as she stood at the end of the porch, getting ready for another day at the park, while her sister Imagiry played soccer with the neighbors. "Si mami? Are we going now?" the eleven year old girl was bother to ask, but frankly she didn't really care if they went to the park or not. For the past few weeks the parks area constant nothing but little running children and their parents, most of them with their fathers. She did her best to ignore the scenery, blocking the world around her at most and just wishing somehow papi could hear her thoughts and know how badly he was miss. If there was such a thing as magic, she would think with close eyes, she would have her father with her right now.

She knew it was foolish to think magic was real. Mami would squish her little dreams of magic and as always force her to go play with the other girls at the park. Felicity move only to please her mom, for if she had it her way, she could be stubborn as mule. The park had so many kids, but there was very little activity at the swing set. Many were watching the soccer game going on, paying no mind to the swings. Felicity fled to the nearest one, happen to miss the older looking girl already there. The eleven year wanted to take for the skies, almost like flying, that was all she wanted. So she pump her small legs fast as she could and drown out the world, till she was in a world of her own. Where mami's foolish thinking of magic seems to disappear at her whim.

Ariana could do nothing but watch as large groups of muggle flocked to the park as the school day came to a close, the afternoon LA sun burned against her fair skin as she swung gently backwards and forwards with no thought as how she was going to spend her day. She had no doubt that she spend the rest of the day swinging quietly surrounded by Muggles. She looked up and watched as a young girl came into the park and made her way to the swings completely ignoring Ariana as she took up the free swing. The girl seemed at odds with her mother as she entered the park, Ariana didn't pay her much attention but she did glance at her. It was unlikely but for all Ariana knew this girl could be a witch took and she may not even know it.

It didn't take long before the brown eyes of Felicity meant the ones of pure blues. The girl with the pretty blonde hair and blues eyes made Felicity want to slow down on the swing set. She never been so close to a girl of fair skin and eye color like that. Except mami, who eyes were bright as the girl, the only difference between her mom and the girl was the skin color and hair. Felicity pause completely, though the swings swayed on it's own, she let it drift to its own soothing rhythm. "Hello" Felicia spoke, her Spanish tongue never hid away her accent. as much as she tried to hide, her accent was rich and thick of heritage. "What's your name?" she went on asking the absent eyes of the older girl, she seem spacious a bit. Felicia notice, she move again so she could capture the attention of the blonde American girl.
