Arisa's Partaay

Arisa smiled and pulled her self out of Sern's arms. She gave a hug to Ari and one to Kida "hey guys, thanks for coming" she said to both of them. Then she turned to Viv and Aeon, "and would you two like a hug also?" she asked with a smile.
 
Vivienne had been sitting for a while, when she heard someone else join the group. "SURPRISE!!" she yelled instinctively, not even seeing who it was. "Oh wait, sorry wrong person! We've got to wait for Arisa." Vivienne laughed, running over to the person. But as they turned around, she realised that it was the right person. "Oh um, Arisa! I mean, um, SURPRISE!" she said, throwing her hands up and smiling embarassedly.

She began to shake her head when Arisa told her that she hadn't needed to go to so much trouble. "No no, it was no trouble at all! That's just what friends do. In fact, I had quite a bit of help from some friends.." she said the last bit quietly, pulling out her wallet to check that she'd be able to pay them in cash. "So yeah.. um.. Happy birthday!! Hoorah." Vivienne laughed, realising that she should probably stop talking now.
 
"Hi Arisa!" Aeon said, dragging himself away from the food and pulling her into a hug. "Happy birthday! How are you? Probably been pashing Sern 24/7." He said with a smile, then looked out over the water. "I wonder if we'll see any merfolk today." He wondered out loud. "You going to start eating again Viv or do I have to devour it all?" He asked, looking over at Vivienne with a wider smile. "And Sern, I think she could hear me through all the food but she was just shocked." He added, casting a glance in his brothers direction.
 
Arisa laughed at Viv, and gave her a hug. She then ran over and gave one to Aeon. "oohh cake!" Arisa said going to go look at all the food. She ran up to the food and grabbed a carrot "I think I'll stick to this for now though" she said munching on it.
 
Sern released Arisa so she could go say hello to her friends before looking to his brother and responding to his Vivienne being shocked comment, "I couldn't imagine why..." A smile widened across his face and he moved over to the water again, the smile still faint on his lips. He cast his look out over the water once more and pondered.
 
Arisa finished her carrot and moved back over to Sern. She took off her locket and opened it, "hey, my grandparents gave me this locket, and i was wondering if I could put a picture of you in one of the slots" Arisa asked quietly. "If you don't want to thats okay too" she added.
 
As Arianna watched her friends talk and eat, she nibbled on snacks, and listened. She didn't know why, but things seemed awkward. There was something about Sern that made her uneasy. She didn't know what it was, and wasn't about to ask. He was very different to Aeon, which she found odd. Sitting down on a spare table, she watched her friends socialise, and avoided eyes.
 
Sern turned around to see Arisa who had a new locket. She said it was from her parents and asked if she could put a picture of him in it. He took a moments thought before answering, "I'm sure Aeon would have at least one picture of me." His stormy eyes drifted over to the girl that was alone and he said in his quiet cool voice, "I think your friend is in need of company.." He had the strangest feeling he was making the girl feel awkward. This wasn't exactly new of course but he still hated to ruin a party for someone.
 
Sitting by the lake, Vivienne glanced around at everyone and everything. As her eyes landed on Ari, she noticed that her friend seemed different, as if she was shying away from someone. This was very unusal for Arianna, so Vivienne followed her gaze, intrigued. She soon realised that Ari was shying away from Sern, as if he made her feel uncomfortable. Vivienne hadn't known the boy long, and she bet that he was a very nice person, but she too, could tell that something was up.

Walking over to her friend, Vivienne sat down silently beside her. "Something feel off to you too?" she said, leaning in as she quietly whispered to Ari. Vivienne wasn't one to talk behind someone's back, especially when they were only a few metres away, but this time she could just tell that something was wrong..
 
Arianna was relieved when Vivienne came over and said something to her. She didn't want to ruin Arisa's party, but she was glad she could talk to somebody "I'm not sure, I just..." she said trailed off "I just wonder why he is so different to Aeon for a start. I mean you wouldn't know that they are brothers" she whispered "Maybe I should just talk to him"
 
"Aeon..I think Arisa needs to ask you about something" Sern called, yet his voice keep an abnormal quiet. He gave Arisa a faint smile and said, "Go have fun.." He paused to look out over the water, "I'll be over soon" He moved back to the waters edge and gave a sigh. Socializing just wasn't his thing. The light only cast over half of him leaving the other in shadow as he watched the sparkling water, so peaceful. His thoughts wandered to what Vivienne and the other girl thought of him. If they had heard any stories they would either hate or perhaps even nervous around him. Then again, maybe they hadn't heard the stories?
 
"Aeon..I think Arisa needs to ask you about something" Sern called, yet his voice keep an abnormal quiet. He gave Arisa a faint smile and said, "Go have fun.." Arianna watched as Sern seperated himself from the group, and sat down by the lake "I'll be back in a second" She told Vivienne quietly, and slowly walked down to the waters edge. Sitting down next to Sern, she looked out at the water too "So... you and Arisa" She said slowly "How did you meet?" she asked, decidng to jump right in.
 
Aeon looked over at Vivienne and Ari who were sitting together. Something seemed to be up and they were only acting like this since Sern came. He shook his head at them, he didn't understand how people were like that around him. Then again he was Sern's brother so was used to the way he was. He heard Sern say something and looked up at him. "Yes Arisa?" He asked as his brother walked away.
"Oh! I have an idea! How about we play tag? I love tag!" He continued cheerfully, it was a birthday party so why not play a game?
 
Sern heard someone sit down beside him and gave a near silent sigh. It was the girl who seemed most awkward around him probably come to figure out he was a nice normal person so she could feel better. She asked how he met Arisa and he closed his eyes for a moment, "Through Aeon actually..". His eyes opened but stayed looking out over the water, his near hollow expression set. Why did he have to be like this around people. He could have just said hey answered the question smiled and asked how she was, but no. He didn't.
 
Arianna judged his response, and realised she must seem like she didn't like him.
"I'm sorry if I seem as if I don't like you, I just... I'm a little protective of Arisa, because I know she'd look out for me too" She said rapidly "Truth is, all I want to do is get to know you, and be friends, since you're going out with Arisa" she said, hoping this sounded reasonable, because it was the utmost truth.
 
Sern couldn't help but chuckle at Arianna's rushed speech. A little protective Sern thought to himself, Brilliant. He finally looked to the side so that his stormy eyes locked onto hers, "I don't mind people not liking me, I'm used to it" He paused to think about what to say, "What would you like to know about?" He asked in the same near inaudible cool voice that could almost send a shiver down someones spine.
 
Arianna was startled when he looked at her. His eyes were an incredible colour, but oddly, they didn't frighten her "No, I do like you! I'm sorry, I'm just being a jerk" she mumbled, looking down "Whatever I need to know" she said "I just want Arisa to be happy"
 
"Your not being a jerk.." He paused, "Your just being cautious about a very suspicious person who happens to be dating your friend". And so she had a right to be. For Sern was, as said, a very suspicious person. She said she wanted to know about whatever she needed to and he sighed. Couldn't it just have been, 'whats your favourite colour?'. He sat there unmoving and not making a sound for a few more moments before responding, "Listen...I'm not a social person" He tried to keep his tone from going icy as much as he could. This was a party. "I don't divulge my being to someone I don't know" His eyes never moved from hers, "And i'm not exactly sure you want to know to much about me so lets just keep it to... I'm in love with Arisa and she shares that same love?"
 
Arianna smiled, and listened to his explanation "Well, that's fine by me, so... I suppose everyelse is wondering what we're doing" she said, realising they must look funny. She jumped up, and offered him her hand "Friends?" she asked "For Arisa's sake?" she added, to convince him.
 
Sern moved to his feet and took the hand before saying, "Friends.." and releasing it. He looked over to the group and said, "I think Vivienne is expecting some news..." He said before turning back to the water again. He hoped he didn't have to go through the same thing with Vivienne.
 
Arianna smiled "Yeah, she's just looking out for Arisa too. Thanks... for talking to me" she said, softening her tone slightly at the last part. "Have fun" she said, with a small smile. She wandered back over to Viv, feeling much better than she had before.
 
She thanked him for talking to her and said to have fun. Fun. She got up and moved back over to Vivienne. Aeon had mentioned playing tag, the thought made him chuckle but he couldn't help but glance over to him. Alright then, I'll have some fun. He slipped his wand out before bolting over to his brother, skidding around his side as he did. He touched his wand to Aeon's arm so that his wand lit up with a non harmful spark. "Tag" He laughed before bolting over to the other side of the party. "come on then".
 
Arianna watched as Sern tagged Aeon with his wand. She pulled out her own, and jumped to her feet. "I'm playing!" she announced, and ran away from Aeon, down towards the lake. She was now glad she had worn jeans.
