Ari tucked away Bethany's rose and note in his trunk for safe keeping. He read it more than a dozen times today, and it's pretty clear what he had to do. The only reason he had not act on this before was because of his forced engagement. But its been dealt when and he was free to do whatever he wanted. His father had no control, no say in his decisions anymore. And he decided, what he really wanted was Bethany.

Ari promptly dressed up for the Valentine's dance, wearing a casual two piece men suit. Unfortunately, he was luck out of red accessories wear. However, the Ravenclaw been sporting a tilak on his forehead recently. Traditionally, tilak was a red mark on his forehead to help with focus and meditation, in the Hindu practice. He would need that energy tonight if he was going to win over Bethany. Whatever it takes, he won't let her wait any longer. She was bold and her sense of humor came out through that note, and damn he appreciated that so much. It made him smile for the rest of the day, and tonight he had to do it. He had to make it right before he graduated and they were separated for a whole year. He couldn't wait that long, no he was going to make Bethany his for sure.

Bethany had always enjoyed coming to the school dances, even if she never had a partner. Just because she wasn't with someone didn't mean she couldn't have fun at these events, remembering that time she had gone around popping all the heart shaped balloons just for fun. But now that she was meeting Ari there, she could finally understand the appeal of having someone just for you to dance with and spend all your time with. Being with Ari was so natural to Bee, she loved that she didn't even have to change anything about herself and he still seemed to like her. Is this what it was like to be in a relationship? She wouldn't know, she wasn't in one, which is why she had sent a rose to Ari nudging him in the right direction, wondering what was taking him so long. She had done it mostly for fun but she secretly hoped he got the hint.

Bee wasn't usually in the habit of wearing nice girly things, but she had saved up enough money to buy herself a romper in pink and red just because she was feeling extra festive today. She made sure her large wild hair was as tame as it was going to be and then rushed down to the Great Hall to find her date. It wasn't long before she spotted him in the crowd and she smiled. Bee walked over to him and said, "Hello handsome!" greeting him with a kiss on the cheek.

The Ravenclaw boy felt her plush lips meet his cheek. He grinned, whirling around in place. Dark, warm eyes settled over her captivating figure. She wore a stylish outfit that went well with today's theme. The taller boy boldly stepped in her space, securing his hands around her middle. The boy stayed quite as he contemplated his next move. He wanted to come off as mysterious, nonchalant as he kept his vow in silence. Knowing her, this pretense in being mysterious wouldn't last. She would find a way to make him smile and laugh. He continued with this play for as long as he could have, pulling the petite girl much closer to him.

"Like to hear a story?" He would question, but wouldn't wait for an answer. "Once, there was this boy, a boring boy who had his life ridiculously planned out for him. Every step was counted for, every move he made were predictable. He was stale as wheat bread." His lips twitch to a bigger smile as he said this. It never falters, because when he was around her, rarely did you see him frown. "But then he met this girl, who he shared his fries with. She was everything he's ever wanted, everything he ever needed. Someone who made him cross lines with no regrets." He was going somewhere with this. It's like someone had cursed him with babbling curse before arriving here, and everything was a mess of incoherency. A mess that meant something to him. "He was suppose to get married to someone else....and he decided he rather eat more fries with this girl for many more days, than live in misery and let her get away.."

Bee grinned when he wrapped his arms around her and then settled against him, waiting to see if he would bring up the rose she sent him that day. Perhaps it was too pushy, or maybe she should've just asked him to be her boyfriend instead of waiting for him to ask her, but she hadn't thought things through before she sent it and in any case, she didn't regret doing it. The silence he was pulling was killing her though, and she was about to open her mouth when he finally spoke up, launching into a story. Bee laughed and nodded along, listening quietly with an amused smile on her face, chuckling when he called himself stale as wheat bread, because Bee would never describe him that way at all.

When he got to the part about meeting a girl, her, she beamed and said, "I like this story so far," eager to see where he was going with this. She hoped it was going where she wanted, where she'd led him to go with her rose earlier. But then he mentioned that he was supposed to get married to someone else and Bee's brows furrowed in confusion. "I don't know if I like this story anymore," she grumbled, even as he announced he preferred her company. Bee looked up at him and gave him a small smile. "You were supposed to get married to someone else?" she questioned. She wasn't mad, just curious about his story. Everything else was true so far, since it was about their meeting, so she knew this probably wasn't something he made up.
