Appending a poll

I've sarched the Arhived FAQs, but can't find the answer.
What happens when you 'append a poll' on you topic?
I've seen the button, but always been too scared to press it

It just adds a poll to the top of your topic. Feel free to give it a go in this topic (I'll append one, too, then your FAQ topics will have two polls appended to it! ).
