This was an important milestone in the life of a wizard, and she knew that many of the students looked at their license as a taste of the freedom they'd earn on their way to becoming fully trained wizards. With the registration list tucked in a folder that was under her arm, the woman stepped into the room. She called attendance, making sure that no one had snuck into the room without paying their galleons. "Good afternoon, sixth years. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene paced the front as she spoke, her heels clicking as she moved. "The headmistress has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

Her voice echoed throughout the room. With so few students and the furniture against the walls, her voice carried easily. The woman looked at a student in the front, her blue eyes piercing into the student. "I will warn you from the start that your ability to apparate will have little to do with what house you are in or your blood status. Your ability to apparate will, however, depend on your ability to focus on the three Ds: Destination.Determination. Deliberation." She enunciated each word. "If you fail to understand these concepts, you will fail your exam. First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years who had been whispering while she was lecturing and continued, "you must move with deliberation like so." She gave the student a sharp look.

Moving towards the front of the room, Irene continued lecturing the students. She knew that some were probably expecting to apparate today but she also knew that the foundation for apparating started with this information. Soon enough their time was up, and they had done nothing but listen. "Don't forget the 3 Ds. I will see you all next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything with you to the next lesson. The less you carry, the easier it will be. If you have any questions, I can remain for a few moments to answer them." She smiled briefly, her attempt at appearing warm and inviting. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder...the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next time we meet. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place.Apparition,6,1

Bob Masters had been looking forward to Apparition Lessons ever since he had started at Hogwarts in his First Year. He arrived a little bit early to the class and listened to the ministry lady talk to them about the 'three Ds' and he frowned when it seemed more and more likely that they would not be doing any kind of apparition practice, but he still listened to her and committed what she was saying to mind so he would be prepared. When they were done he headed off to the common room and eagerly awaited the next lesson.

Darcy was surprised but excited that Apparition lessons were being taught to them at school. For some reason she had thought it would be something the Ministry did over the summer independently, but she was eager to learn how to do this. It was probably the most convenient thing magic ever had to offer and she couldn't wait to have her license for it. Darcy walked into the Great Hall where their lessons were to be held and saw all the tables against the wall to give them all the space in the middle. The Great Hall was massive but she still felt like it wasn't a big enough distance to properly practice Apparating. Still, Darcy kept quiet as she stood with the rest of the students in her year and listened to the woman begin lecturing. She took in everything she said, making sure to treat the three D's she emphasized with great importance. Darcy nodded and thought hard about how she was going to keep all this in mind when she actually began to practice. But the Slytherin was disappointed to hear that they weren't practicing anything at all today. Darcy frowned slightly at first, this was a very difficult type of magic to perform, they needed all the practice they could get before taking their test. She was even more upset to hear that they wouldn't have any opportunity to practice outside of the lessons because there would be no area of the castle lifted for them. She was the type of person to want to continually practice a spell or type of magic repeatedly until she was absolutely sure she got it just right. Not allowing her to practice outside of lessons left her feeling uneasy, she wouldn't know where she stood with her performance level of the task. Darcy sighed, frustrated, but didn't say anything as she left the Great Hall.

Isabelle was a bit scared for Apparition, especially considering it was being taught in English which was her second language. Upon doing some research, Isabelle knew Apparition was difficult and could involve splinching if you weren't careful enough. The sixth year didn't want this happening to her but she hesitantly attended her first Apparition lesson, hoping she wasn't going to mess up on the first lesson. Fortunately, they were not going to firstly try to apparate just yet and instead just had to listen to the professor talk about the 3 D's. With a sigh of relief, Isabelle tried her best to take notes and left the classroom at the end of the lesson.

Olivia was excited to apparate, though she doubted they would be doing anything anywhere near it in the first lesson. Though she was glad to have another class with Darcy. She made her way inside the Great hall and listened as the woman from the ministry talked to them about the fundamentals of apparating, and the importance of the three Ds. Olivia would have to remember those for the next lesson. When the lesson was over, Olivia made her way out of the hall, she had expected not to be apparating but still found herself disappointed that they hadn't started trying. She would just focus on the three Ds, and begin trying next time.

Hamish was sure most people in his year were excited for apparation, but Hamish himself was still a little on edge about it. He had side-along apparate enough in his life to know that it was kind of awful. He didn't like the unpleasantness of potential amputation, and he had just enough pessimism to be deeply concerned that it would happen to him. His mother had done a fine job of not leaving any parts of him behind, at least, but that meant little when it was his time to actually do it himself. Well, at least not right this minutes - he had time to get his mind around the potential drawbacks of not listening intently. It seemed simple enough, but failure really wasn't an option he wanted to endure. It was only three things - destination, determination and deliberation - it wasn't rocket science, he was pretty sure he could trust himself to at least remember the terms. A grasp of English let him know what was expected - now he just had to figure out how to stop his stomach from trying to sink into his shoes.
