Each year, Irene Finch represented the Ministry in coming to the school to give the students the tools they would need to pass their apparition exam. She was pleased that Minister Kingsley had approved her continuing to come to the school for these lessons. When the students began to enter the Great Hall, Irene stood up and vanished her seat. She crossed her arms, her Ministry robes settling themselves against her ankles as she waited to begin.

"Good afternoon, sixth years. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene paced the front as she spoke. "Headmistress Davershire has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

The woman looked at a student in the front, her blue eyes piercing into the student. "I will warn you from the start that your ability to apparate will have little to do with what house you are in or your blood status. Your ability to apparate will only depend on your ability to focus on the three Ds: Destination.Determination. Deliberation." She pronounced each word slowly and loudly, punctuated by the click of her heels, so that even the students standing in the back of the room could hear her. "If you fail to understand these concepts, you will fail your exam. First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated next to one of the sixth years who had been whispering while she was lecturing and continued, "you must move with deliberation like so." She gave the student a sharp look.

Moving towards the front of the room, Irene continued lecturing the students. She knew that some were probably expecting to apparate today but she also knew that the foundation for apparating started with this information. Soon enough their time was up. "Don't forget the 3 Ds and I will see you all next time. A word to the wise: Don't bring anything but yourselves to the next lesson. The less you carry, the easier it will be. If you have any questions, I can remain for a few moments to answer them." She smiled briefly, her attempt at appearing warm and inviting, but then her face turned serious again as she remembered something she had nearly forgotten to tell the students. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder...the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next time we meet. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office.

RP the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place. I'm hoping to make the next lesson more interactive.

The only reason that Rebecca Koshiba was in the Great Hall was because it was expected of her. As both a prefect and a sixth year, learning Apparition was a vital part of her schooling. She didn't really see why she couldn't learn from Eden or perhaps Elvera, but it seemed she was being forced to receive official instruction from a proper ministry trained teacher. Rebecca kept her face as straight as she was able to, given the utter disdain she had for her current predicament. Today her face was marked with angry red marker. She didn't want to be here and the zig zags on her face were a testament to that. It was the only display of her annoyance however, as the rest of her face was apathetic at most. She supposed that being able to apparate would be good, but she didn't want to be splinching herself either. Doing that would not make her very happy at all and so she kept her face a careful mask as the rest of the sixth years filed in and made their way into groups around her. She didn't care. She wasn't really friends with any of them. Rebecca didn't have friends. She didn't even like Dexter, but he seemed to keep talking to her and she wished he would stop.

The instructor started talking and despite her not wanting to be here, Bex paid attention. She knew she had to pass this class anyway, so she might as well have made it easier on herself by actually paying attention. She took mental notes about everything that the woman was saying. What was her name? Bex didn't much care, she wouldn't see her again after all of this was over anyway, so it wasn't like she would need to remember. The woman started off with a warning, their ability to apparate would have nothing to do with their house allegiance or blood status? Well how silly was that statement? It almost certainly had everything to do with house and blood status. Just knowing people that could apparate, or being passenger to it, or knowing the mechanics would give you an advantage. How dedicated you were to learning was another advantage. Was this woman really qualified to be teaching? Bex highly doubted it with what she was saying. Still, if she wanted to learn to apparate, she was going to have to pay attention. The lesson continued on like this, with Bex mentally questioning everything the woman said until it was over. She was very happy the moment she was able to leave. She didn't want to be in this room any longer than necessary.

Willow was excited to be learning how to apparate. It was something that Hazel had never really mastered. Her sister was not the best when it came to the magical side of things, but she was very good with advice and more mainstream stuff. She had never needed it though, because Samual did everything for her. It annoyed Willow to no end that her sister had ended up with him. There was much better out there for her she was sure. Still, Hazel loved Samual, so she supposed that she shouldn't be too hard on him. She mulled it over in her head as she walked into the Great Hall and looked around at the other students. She inclined her head to her fellow prefect, Rebecca, who seemed to be very apathetic about all of this. Willow admired the drawings on her face for a time, before paying attention to the woman who was to teach them how to move from one place to another instantaneously. It was all very exciting for Willow, though she was surprised that she couldn't see Rhiannon anywhere. She knew that she would be here somewhere though, because Rhiannon never missed a class, it was just her thing.

The woman introduced herself as Irene Finch and told them everything they would hopefully need to know to complete this successfully. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. It made sense that they would need to be prepared and know where they wanted to go. It would be stupid to just apparate to no where. How could you know it if you'd never been there? To be honest all that Willow wanted to do right now was give it a try. She was really excited about it if she was honest. She smiled at her fellow class mates and jumped when the woman disappeared. She looked around the room and found her a couple of metres away staring down a talkative student. Willow laughed happily and continued to listen. Soon the lesson was over and Willow walked out feeling like she really wanted to learn how to do that. She wondered if any of her cousins would be able to take her apparating at some point? But then she remembered that she would hopefully have passed the exam by the time she saw them again and so would be able to do it herself.

Kimmara nearly stumbled into her apparation class, nervous as ever, for what her brother insisted through many letters was nothing. Her break at home she did nothing but side-by-side apparate with him, and while she was less nauseous each time, she still felt nervous. That was perhaps the was Kimmara always was. She was still like that with Abel after all, after multiple kisses and time spent together she still felt nervous. Approaching where the other students were, she looked around. some she recognized, others she didn't. It was scary to think they'd be doing this pretty much alone. Her mind was weighed heavily with thoughts of being hurt.

Splinching sounded terrible, but as other students honed in on the teachers voice, Kimmara thought she should do the same. It didn't matter to Kimmara how much the woman talked about the "3d's" of this d@mn class, Kimmara was still sure she'd never be able to do it. The girl shifted uncomfortably in the spot that she stood, trying to remember what the teacher was saying. Once she heard her begin to dismiss, Kimmy was out the door, her nerves leading her to believe she was quite sick, or at least was going to be.

Dominique skipped excitedly into her apparation class. She had been running a little late seeing as she took some time to make sure her hair was nice. She had been waiting to learn how to apparate for much too long, and now that the chance had finally arrived, she was beyond excited for the chance to learn. All she hoped was that she didn't splinch herself or something - she wasn't sure she could handle an injury. What if she damaged her hair? She shuddered at the thought and stood with her fellow sixth years, trying to locate Victoria. However, she didn't seem to be here. This saddened her, but perhaps her bae was just running a little late and would probably come running in last minute like she often did.

She grinned at the woman before them and listened very carefully to what she said. It was weird not having a 'professor', but Ms. Finch looked like a serious woman - Dominique was sure she was perfectly qualified. At any rate, she had beautiful, but she tried not to stare. That'd be very rude. She giggled to a fellow student, gushing about Ms. Finch's lovely dark hair, and shrieked quietly when she appeared right beside her, and cupped her mouth. "Oh I'm so sorry!" she said quickly, not caring to elaborate on why she had spoken out of turn. She would have to remember not to talk to anyone. It was time to be serious. She ran thr 'three Ds' through her head as she left when dismissed. How hard could it be to remember them?

Dexter was excited to be learning how to apparate. His older siblings did it all the time, and he felt that it was something that he had to learn. He smiled slightly at the sixth years around him, feeling a little saddened by the fact that Mandalyn was not in his classes. She was in the year above him, so it wasn't like it was surprising, but it was still a fact he didn't like. They would be more fun with Mandalyn were there - or he'd get more distracted. Either way, he'd be willing to give shared classes a go. He stood next to Rebecca, a Slytherin he considered a friend, and grinning happily at the ministry official tasked with teaching them. She looked really serious, and he made a mental note not to talk too much in her class - something obviously missed by a Gryffindor girl, whom freaked out a little at being surprised by her. He chuckled quietly under his breath, hiding his smile.

It didn't sound too complicated, btu the thought of accidently splinching himself made his stomach twist. If he remembered the three Ds, be was sure he'd be fine - but he already knew so many D words, nameingly his family members, he just hoped it didn't fry his brain or something. But if he wanted to remain a whole man, he'd have to suck it up and not leave a part of himself behind. It sounded like a really painful thing. It was cool that they could appparate in this room, but not any others. It sort of sucked, as there was no shortcut to classes then, but he was happy for the chance to appaate at all. He waved goodbye to their teacher when dismissed, and left the room to find Mandalyn. She should have a break at this moment.

Perhaps this was the only class that all sixth years were going to attend. Perseas entered the long hall where the apparition classes were going to take place and found a lot of familiar faces that he wasn't necessarily encountering at the class he had chosen to continue with after his OWLs. He nodded at a few with his half smile, he even greeted Dex and Dominique with whom he had dueled in the past. The gryffindor didn't have high expectations for today's session. Apparition was one of the many complex branches of transfiguration and that meant they weren't going to attempt and apparate this first time. It was the first time he was seeing their instructor and made him wonder if she was part of Hogwarts' staff or a Ministry worker. Perseas folded his arms against his chest as he listened to the instructor. His pale eyes gleamed with mischief for no obvious reason. They were reflections of what was really going on in his head. If only apparition was permitted regularly at Hogwarts. He zoned in to memorize the 3Ds as they were called. He felt confident that he wasn't going to get splinched. His older brother might have never got licensed and even got sick each time he was apparating along someone else but Perseas was sure that it was going to be the best magical ability he was going to develop. The session was over and he left to find his twin.
