Apparition,6,7Irene Finch had specifically asked the Headmistress to not move the tables out of the way for the exam. If the sixth years were going to be licensed apparitioners, then they would need to possess the ability to work around their surroundings. Apparating across an empty room was convenient, but the chances of apparating to a truly empty space were going to be slim to none in the real world. This would be an especially important test for those students who were interested in Ministry positions as apparating was a requirement for most positions.

Heading to the doors of the Great Hall, Irene stepped out to greet the students who were waiting just outside. The students were seated on the benches that had been provided to await their turn. "Good afternoon" she greeted, her icy blue eyes taking them in one by one. "In a moment, I'll begin calling you in alphabetically by your last name. Once I do, I'll ask you to apparate to a spot in the room. You will only get one shot. I will not pass you if even a hair remains where you once stood." Irene pursed her lips, her expression showing the gravity of this exam. She wanted that fact to be clear because she hated the annoying begging for another chance that came when a student failed. She looked at their faces, wondering which ones she would be seeing in the courses that were provided by the Ministry throughout the year. Many people failed the exam on their first try, but the woman did nothing to reassure the students of this fact.

Stepping back into the room, where her clipboard was already magicked to take notes, Irene glanced at the list and then called the first student forward. Once the student was inside, Irene shut the door tightly and began the exam.
Roleplay your character's attempt to apparate to a point in the room. Don't forget that there are tables and chairs around as well.

You will get a A or T depending on whether you roleplay your character succeeding or failing. Extra credit will be given for the level of detail in your roleplay regardless of passing or failing. Feel free to godmod if it is necessary to your roleplay. If you have any questions, PM me. No replies will be accepted beyond Wednesday.

Orwell stepped towards the door the Great hall for the apparition exam, walking with Archie right beside him, and he leaned into the other boy's body. He was feeling a little nervous about this, but largely he was just tired. He wanted it to be passed and just be something he could do. Having managed it in the last two lessons he wasn't too worried about the exam itself just wanting to have it done was a little bit of pressure upon him. He looked to the teacher as she greeted them, and he realised at her words that with a surname like Brocken, he would be one of the first, and long before Archie had been. As soon as his name was called he stepped forward and entered into the great hall, standing to full height and mustering up all the confidence that he could, he could do this, he could do this. The teen wanted to be able to do this, and he could do this.

He stood at the teacher and listened to her instructions about where he was supposed to apparate to, he ran a hand nervously through his hair as he nodded in understanding. The king of the flowers knew he had one chance at this, and he needed to get it right, so he focused, remembering the three D's that they had been taught, he focused, he let his mind just only imagine where he was needed to apparate to. And he felt that tug, knowing what this was, having felt it before he leaned into it, and after a little rush of feeling it all stopped. He looked around himself realising he'd managed it, and then took stock, but as far as he could tell, nothing was out of place, not even the messy rainbow coloured hair seemed to have moved out of place, Orwell made sure the teacher was happy before he left the hall, rejoining Archie and remaining with him until he too and done the exam.

Despite having a few hiccups and not apparating as well as everyone else in the class, Archie walked confidently alongside Orwell to their apparation exam. He was ready to get the exam over with regardless if he would pass or fail as the stress of it had been looming over him during the past few weeks. There was no way of telling if he would pass, or if he would apparate similarly to the way he had in lessons; successfully but never on the exact spot he wanted. So all he could have done was show up and do his best while hoping his best would be enough. He sat on one of he benches next to Orwell and listened to the teacher's instructions before waiting patiently for his turn, slightly relieved it was alphabetical by surname as otherwise he would have been one of the first students due to take the test. Orwell instead was one of the first students in line so he supported his friend, wishing him luck and then smiling when the rainbow haired boy returned to the hallway.

Eventually it was his turn. Archie swallowed the lump in his throat, standing up when his name was called and following the teacher into the hall. He nodded to show he was listening and that he understood as they explained the exam and gave him a spot in the room to apparate to. He clapped his hands together nervously before moving his arms firmly to his sides, closing his eyes and focusing on the three d's he'd learned about during the lessons. He attempted to gather every feeling in his body to focus on apparating to the spot he was told and after a while of focusing he felt the familiar tug in his core paired with nausea and disorientation. When the uncomfortable feelings subsided Archie opened one of his eyes, then both of them to look around and inspect his surroundings. Much to his surprise he'd made it where the teacher had told him and he wasn't injured. It was the first time he had apparated exactly where he meant to and he was glad it happened in the exam. With a satisfied smile and a confident stance, Archie thanked the teacher before leaving the room and once again greeting Orwell. He was proud to have managed to apparate where he was told and was proud that Orwell seemed to do equally well.

It was the apparition exam today, and there were butterflies in the Hufflepuff's stomach as she made her approach. She didn't have Emily in the class to converse with, which was a shame, but she felt it was probably for the best. Her sister had many concerns weighing on her mind, she didn't need the anxiety of having to apparate weighing her down, also. This was the exam, and so it was the most important part. If she failed this, she wasn't entirely sure what would happen, considering she had done well throughout the practice sessions. She would just have to wait and hope that she didn't fail. The Hufflepuff was usually good at succeeding under pressure, so whilst the butterflies were present, they were not feared, and she stood among her brethren with a quickening heartbeat.

They would be called alphabetically, which gave her some time to play with - starting with an R, she was usually a little further down the alphabet list than others. There were a few obstacles in her way this lesson, in the form of chairs and tables, but otherwise it was all just the same as in their practice periods. She had done herself a favour and tried to leave behind every unnecessary thing that she wouldn't need to try and make it all easier for her. She couldn't leave any part of her behind or she would fail (and potentially leave something important behind and have serious damage and pain), and so the Hufflepuff focused long and hard on the task at hand. She knew her destination, and she was working on the other two Ds whilst she concentrated in the quiet room, taking note of all the potential obstacles she would need to avoid before she needed to move. There was that uncomfortable tugging feeling that left her a little uncomfortable and fatigued, but when she looked around herself, she had found that she had made it. She went through a short checklist, but didn't feel any pain and couldn't see any patches missing from her clothes or tightly held hair, and smiled to herself once she understood that she had made it safe and sound, and it was the very best she could do.

Ailsa couldn't help her nervousness as she stood outside the great hall waiting to be called in so that she sit this apparition exam. To her it was a incredibly vital part of her school career, and she wanted to be able to pass first time, to not have to go back and do it again, pass and have it be done. She had faired pretty well within the practice lessons and was sure that she wouldn't have too much trouble with it. She smiled to herself, calming herself down as she was then called into the hall, given that her name was Evans, she knew she'd be early and this was good in her mind, not the first but then not to near the end where she'd grow more and more nervous about apparating. The girl smoothed down her skirt before walking into the great hall, she knew she could do this, she just had to keep reminding herself of this fact and she knew she'd be fine.

Ailsa nervous greeted the teacher before listening to where she wanted her to apparate to. The gryffindor took in the spot and nodded, she noted all the different object which lay in her path, that would have to be walked around but with apparition she was just essentially going to jump over. The teen cleared her mind, thinking easily of the three D's that were integral to apparition. She thought about where she wanted to end up within this room. Clearing and focusing her mind just on that, and as soon as she began to feel what she'd become aware was the pull of apparition she leaned into it and within an instant it had stopped and she was at the location. Ailsa let out a deep breath, everything seemed to still be in place, she didn't seem to be missing any body parts from what she could tell. Clearly she'd managed it, and even though the teacher had not yet confirmed it, she felt pretty confident about it.

Isaiah sat outside the great hall, the apparition exam was not something the blonde teen felt overly nervous about, he was more than certain that he would be fine in it, like he always seemed to be when it came to exams, he never really had much trouble with them, of course, Isaiah did study a lot, but apparition wasn't really something that could be studied in the traditional sense of studying, it just couldn't be. but, regards of that, the Ravenclaw felt pretty certain that he would be fine, he'd managed it in the last lesson and the one before and he wasn't really the type to get jitters and lose his concentration. Isaiah was sure he had quidditch to thank for that, but it meant that rather than being nervous or worried about this exam, he was rather excited, eager to have it done and be able to just move forward with his life, one step closer to being a full fledged wizard.

Finally, his name was called and Isaiah made his way into the hall, he stood where he needed to stand and listened to the instructions given to him by the professor. The hall he noted was not like it had been when they were practicing, now there were objects in his path, not that he really imagined that this complicated much, he was still feeling pretty confident. The teen smiled to himself as he focused, clearing his thoughts and centred his mind on where he wanted to end up, he imagined himself in that location and in one sudden move he felt the tug, and then was just where he had imagined he wanted to be. The teen looked at the professor with an almost smug, look at how well i just did manner. But he was happy, he had managed it, he had done it, just like he had known he would.
