Irene stood in her Ministry robes looking as poised as ever as she awaited the sixth years' arrivals. Today, they'd finally get some practice in. She knew that some students had experience with side-along apparition, but doing it alone was a very different experience. They'd soon find that out for themselves. It was one thing to go along for the ride, and quite another thing to be the person who had to remember the 3 Ds and execute them perfectly.

"Let's go. You don't have all day and neither do I." Irene Finch urged the students forward impatiently as the first student walked tentatively through the open Great Hall doors. She took roll as they entered, shutting the doors from the distraction of younger students who wanted to see what was happening. "You don't need to be on top of each other. Space yourselves out!" she stated, exasperation in her tone. Irene gave her wand a small flourish and a large wooden hoop appeared in front of each student, falling into place before them.

Looking around at their faces, Irene stared at each student for the briefest of moments, making judgments about their ability to succeed at the task before them. She had been doing this long enough that she was rarely wrong. "Alright, let us begin. Today, you will make your first attempts at apparating" she declared, her hands on her hips as she walked around. "Before we begin, however, can someone remind us of the three Ds?" she pointed to a student and nodded her head as they responded.

"Excellent" she stated. "Now that you've all been reminded of the three Ds, it is time to put them into practice. For your safety, one of your school nurses is here" she nodded towards the corner where the nurse was stationed. "If you splinch yourself, please remain in your spot and the nurse or I will come to you. No sense bleeding all over the place" she stated with a small shake of her head, not even thinking about how startling that sentence might seem to a muggleborn. She didn't explain splinching either. Sooner rather than later, she was sure they'd learn if they didn't already know. "Begin. I will be walking around."

Points will be given to the student who answers the question. RP the lesson.
If you'd like your character to splinch themselves, please PM me first.
School nurse welcome!

Teddy was so ready for this. He’d side along apparated loads of times and he knew he could do it. It would be easy for him. He raised his hand and answered, “Destination. Determination. Deliberation.” like he really knew what the heck that meant. Then, without thinking much about it, he closed his eyes and turned on the spot and when he open them he was exactly where he started. He looked around confused, maybe the headmaster had forgotten to lift the restriction on apparating in the Great Hall. That was the only plausible explanation Teddy had as he looked around to see if anyone else could do it.

Realising that maybe it was him, he took a deep breath and gave it another go. This time he thought about those three D's properly. Destination was the hoop, determination was Teddy really wanted to be in the hoop, and the deliberation he assumed meant thinking and not rushing. He closed his eyes and tried again, turning on the spot when he was ready. This time he did feel his body squeeze and when he opened his eyes, he was stood inside the hoop. He immediately felt around himself to make sure he wasn't splinched before celebrating how awesome he was at everything.

Aura wasn't sure if she was ready for this, but she was going to give it a try, this was the show of their adulthood honestly so she didn't want to pretend that this wasn't a big moment. This was the real deal and she didn't want to mess it up, especially not with Teddy here, she didn't want to fail in front of him. She tried to breathe in, but she coughed a little bit with nervousness. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. She kept it in her mind, trying to focus as she tried not to splinch herself, that was a scary word. She locked her eyes on the centre of the room, seeing herself in her mind and imagining herself over there where the hoops it. She felt a horrible pulling sensation and when she opened her eyes she emptied the contents of her stomach onto the floor, breathing deeply to try and make herself feel better. She was annoyed Teddy looked so good doing it, like the absolute jerk he was, but at least she'd managed to do it.

Friday was exceedingly ready for the apparation lesson. She took a spot in the hall and looked to the teacher. She was spread enough out and then just looked to the professor. She looked to the hoop and rolled her eyes at who answered the question before they were allowed to actually do it. Friday nodded and focused. She took a while but felt the tug and let herself be apparated to the hoop with a crack. It was nice to have succeed, and to have not left any part of herself behind. She then was able to head out of the room.

Enoch had been disappointed by the first apparition lesson, though he didn't mind too much given that they would eventually be doing the apparition, and that provided he passed he would have it. Enoch stood in the room and glanced over the different people as the professor got started on the lesson. He stood apart like they were instructed to and then looked at the hoop which appeared on the ground. He nodded lightly, and then they were allowed to try it. He focused his attention on it, trying his best to be focused on it. He felt the tug eventually and then with a crack was in the circle, everything still in place. He felt pretty happy he'd managed it and left the hall feeling like he was definitely going to pass it.

Callie walked into the great hall with the rest of the year group. She had been doing a lot of reading over the few weeks since the last lesson and was pretty ready to finally give it a try. She took a spot in the room, and distanced herself from others when the professor told them to. She looked to the hoop on the ground and nodded lightly. it felt endlessly daunting and impossibly far now. But she cleared her mind as she had read to do, and focused in the way she was supposed to. All too quickly a feeling pulled over her and when she leaned in, with a resounding crack she was in the hoop, perfectly whole. Callie was pretty pleased with herself. She headed out of the great hall when they were dismissed.

Dominic was quite happy with all of the classes that he was taking. Some of it was boring, but the hufflepuff just tried his best to stay positive that he would get through it all. The class stressing him out the most was apparition, especially after learning that it could result in splinching. As he entered the great hall, he kept his distance between himself and the other students as instructed and waited for the Ministry lady to tell them all what they would be doing. They would be finally attempting to apparate, and Dominic was honestly a little apprehensive about it.

As the class was told to start, Dominic kept replaying the three D's in his head as he looked around at his classmates attempting it. No one seemed to be getting splinched just yet, and he saw a couple of people manage to do it successfully. Trying to stay positive, Dominic closed his eyes and cleared his mind, thinking of nothing but the three D's and the hoop he was to apparate into. When he opened them again, he beamed as he was inside the hoop with all of his limbs intact. He had done it, and he was definitely proud of himself.

Benicio was excited for the apparition lesson today because he was hopeful they'd begin practicing, and he was right. After a small review, during which he tried his best to pay attention, the students were set off to practice, a hoop in front of everyone. Benicio stared at the hope, only then realizing how monumental of a task this was. He had to get his entire body from where it was standing to the inside of a hoop that was only a bit wider than he was. Shaking off the anxiety that was threatening to take over, the sixth year took a breath and tried to avert his focus to the 3 Ds. It wasn't until nearly the end of the lesson that he felt something happening, that familiar sensation of almost suffocating and then finding himself...across the room. He'd overshot the mark by a very long amount and he jogged back to his spot, keeping his gaze to the ground not wanting to catch a glimpse of the mean blue eyes of the instructor. Benicio didn't have time to try again as she called the lesson. He was happy he'd accomplished apparating though!

Audrey couldn't wait to get started on the actual apparition. She had been reading up on the theory but there was only so much the theory could do. She thought she had a bit of an advantage with her study of theory of animagi, but transforming one's body into a different being and transforming oneself into a different place. She wondered if everyone was overly focusing on the words of the 3 Ds themselves. It wasn't about that bit, it was about focusing on where you wanted to be, tuning everything else out, and mentally willing yourself to be in that other place. Audrey stared at the hoop for a while, envisioned herself standing within it...and as she felt a pull, she went with it and found herself standing in the hoop. She grinned, giving a little jump for joy as she patted herself down and realised everything was in place. It wasn't nearly as awful as the breathless feeling as her body tried to change into animal form. She also wasn't sure if the Ministry lady had ever jumped for joy in her life, but Audrey didn't care, she was happy she'd done it.

It seemed like the instructor didn't really want to be there, it wasn't a great atmosphere to learn something as important as Apparition, but Veronica would just have to push through Ms. Finch's attitude and try to do her best. She listened as they were given a refresher on the three Ds and then a large wooden hoop appeared in front of her. At no point had they been told how to apparate. She guessed they'd just have to figure it out on the fly? She focused on the centre of the hoop and focused on the three Ds that had been drilled into them since the first lesson. She felt her whole body twist in on itself, like a hook had reached into her and was trying to pull out her stomach. When she opened her eyes she was just off to the side of the hoop. Not inside it, but she was close so she'd take it. Once the lesson was over she grabbed her things and left.
