Irene entered the castle, her black stilettos clicking along the floor as she made her way to the Great Hall, glad to see that her request to have the tables moved had been granted. She had worked with Headmistress King for a number of years, and while they weren't friends by any means, she liked to think that there was mutual respect. It hadn't been a request for nothing though. The students were beginners and would need all the space they could get today.

"Come in, Come in" she urged them forward impatiently. "Space yourselves out...there's plenty of room" she stated with a sigh as they remained bunched together like scared little children. Once they were finished rearranging themselves, Irene gave her wand a small flourish and a large wooden hoop appeared in front of each student.

As she looked around at the student's faces, Irene's expression remained stern as usual. Her blue eyes stared at each student for the briefest of moments, making judgments about their ability to succeed at the task before them. She had been doing this long enough that she was rarely wrong."Alright. Today, we will begin to practice apparating" she declared, her hands on her hips. "Before we begin, can someone remind us of the three Ds?" she pointed to a student and nodded.

Let's try to make this lesson more interactive! Points will be given to the student who answers this first question.

Perseas had almost forgotten of his apparition class. Contrary to the rest of his classes, this one wasn't held weekly and felt like ages ago when he first arrived at the empty Great Hall when the sixth years were first introduced to the three principles of apparition. The long hall was once more empty of tables and seats. The ministry woman with the blue eyes was there awaiting them. He followed her prompting and took position, leaving enough space between him and his two classmates to his right and left. Large hoops appeared before the sixth years and Perseas' pale, grey eyes locked on his. The hoop marked the space within he should apparate. It sounded easier than it looked and with the thought of splinching haunting him, he wasn't really eager to give it a try. He noticed his classmates' faces, some looked pale, some others just with blank expression but all of them should have been a little worried inside. He raised his hand to answer the ministry's woman question, to cast out of his mind the thought of splinching for a moment. "Three Ds stand for Destination, Determination and Dimension. I mean, Deliberation." he managed to correct himself but remained nervous. The class continued for the next one hour. Perseas tried his best but didn't have significant progress. There were times when he closed his eyes and held his breath when he felt his body lighter but when he reopened them, he remained at the same spot. He left the hall pensive of what he was doing wrong, having only one more class left to do it right and get his licence.

The woman nodded her head as the sixth year began to list the three Ds. She paused in her walking around the room, but resumed her pace as the teenager corrected himself. "Excellent" she complimented curtly as she continued. "I hope that you all heeded my advice to not bring anything with you today" she began, figuring that they would quickly find out why once they began. "Find a hoop and stand beside it. In a moment, you will begin your first attempt to apparate. Breathe and remember the three Ds." The woman crossed her arms across her chest. "You may begin. If you have any questions, I'll be walking around."

Kimmara supposed her thoughts should have been with her professor when she entered class that day. However, with her arms crossed tightly across her chest the girl couldn't help but feel distracted. Apparation was scary, but what was even scarier was the thought that she was losing her friends. It seemed like her night with Abel had meant a little more than just losing her virginity to not only herself but to her friend Mitch. How was she really supposed to know Mitch was deeply entranced by Abel? The two girls didn't talk about boys, it was too touchy a subject for the both of them - especially after what she'd seen transpiring between herself and Killy. She placed a tanned hand on her forehead for a moment, before brushing her bangs to the side. She was too frustrated at that point to even realize they were being asked a question, and upon missing out on house points, but also on the review she may have needed. The blonde, with a quiet demeanor and shaking knees, wobbled over to the professor and asked, "W-what were the th-t-three D's again?"

Once given her answer Kimmara was disappointed in herself for not remembering them. She walked back over to a safer place in the room and took a few deep breaths. She wondered if she was going to even get her license, though she doubted she would. She just had to be determined - but to Kimmara that didn't come naturally. For the remainder of class the poor blonde stood next to her hoop, unable to do much else besides stand there and breathe unnaturally. Once class was ended, the petite woman eagerly rushed out. She hoped that when the exam rolled around she was in better standing emotionally and physically than she was now.

Dominique entered quietly, looking around the area as all the tables had been stacked away leaving a wide open space. She stood beside a fellow Gryffindor, Perseas, whom she had versed in a duel, once ago. She had lost, but felt no animosity towards him, and elbowed him gently in silent greeting as she admired their teacher's lovely shoes. Black stilettos so tall and thin that they could be skyscrapers, really. She wanted a pair, most definitely. She was tempted to ask her where she had brought them, but really, there was a time and place for these things. After losing points last lesson, she doubted it would be wise to speak once more this lesson.

She took a few large steps away from the other students as instructed, and grinned excitedly. She gave Perseas a thumbs up gesture when he was correct, having been thinking about the 3 Ds since learning them, and cleared her throat in an attempt to be serious. She was so ready for this. She looked at the hoop beside her, and tried to clear her mind of thoughts. She had left everything important behind, and felt that she was completely prepared to give it a go. It may have been overconfidence on her part, but she prided herself on her confidence. There was no point in being shy and nervous. She took a deep breath, puffing her chest slightly. Destination: inside the hoop. Determination: She felt she had a lot of that. Deliberation. She released and shut her eyes. She felt the uncomfortable feeling be apparating, like being pulled into a tube, and opened her eyes when it left. She looked around herself, and found that she was into the hoop, but she felt a little sick and light headed. No matter. The Gryffindor fist-pumped the air and released a quick cheer of triumphant, before quickly silencing herself so as to not disturb anyone else. But she was still jumping for joy. She felt like she was breaking a sweat and would definitely need a short rest, but she had done it.

She brought attention to herself, waving silently at their teacher, and smiled meekly. It was near the end of class. "I did it," she squealed excitedly. "Anyway, um, I was wondering where you'd got your shoes. They look so beautiful, and you look amazing in them." A giant would look amazing in those shoes!
