Irene Finch stood at the front of the room, her Ministry robe nicely pressed. She watched, a serious expression on her face as the students filed into the Great Hall. Some looked nervous while others seemed as if they were ready to begin apparating already but only time would tell if they would be able to. She was pleased to see that the house tables had already been pushed off to the side, leaving plenty of room for the students to gather for their first lesson. It was one less thing for her to do. The school had been extremely accommodating in providing her with space to prepare the students for the exam they would have to take in order to earn a wizarding license.

As the last sixth year entered, Irene patted down her robe and began first by taking the roll. Once she was done, she sent the clipboard away and faced the students. "Hello everyone. My name is Irene Finch and I'm here on behalf of the Department of Magical Transportation to prepare you for your apparition exam." Irene took a few steps and continued. "Your headmistress and deputy headmaster has been kind enough to lift the enchantment placed on this room so that you will be able to practice apparating within these walls for the duration of our lessons."

Glancing over at a girl who looked rather nervous, Irene continued to lecture. "In order to apparate successfully, you must focus on the three Ds: Destination. Determination. Deliberation." She pronounced each word slowly and loudly so that even the students standing in the back could hear her. "First, you must choose your destination. Next, you will focus your determination and once you feel you are ready..." With a small step, Irene apparated to the back of the Great Hall and continued speaking, "you must move with deliberation like so." Now that she was no longer with child, apparating had gone back to being as easy as pie. It hardly took her any effort to send himself from the front of the room all thw way to the back.

Strolling back to the front, Irene checked the time and realized that more time had passed than she’d realized. "I think that will be all for today. Don't forget the 3 Ds and I will see you all next time. Be prepared to put the words into action." She smiled briefly, but then her face turned serious again as she remembered something she had nearly forgotten to tell the students. Holding up a hand, Irene asked them for their attention once more. In a warning tone, she told them "And, just as a reminder... the moment you step out of this room, the enchantment will be put back in place until next week. It would be very, very unwise to consider apparating anywhere on the school grounds until then." With that, she dismissed the students and began to gather up her things so that she could get back to the office. She had quite a few reports to write up.

Please rp the lesson. Nothing fancy is necessary, but remember that these lessons are so that your student can earn a license. This is just the first of only three lessons before the exam takes place during the Brightstone weekend.

Also, whenever you get a moment, don't forget to enroll your student in the gradebook so that he/she can receive their grade :)

Learning how to finally Apparate was like a dream come true for Ariah. All her older brothers were able to do it and so were her parents so she really wanted to finally join them and be able to Apparate instead of feeling like a tag along whenever they traveled to somewhere far away. Although Ariah had absolutely no idea what to except out of these Apparition Lessons she was going to be attending for the next few weeks or so, all she knew was that this was something she really wanted to learn so she was going to have to give it her best shot. Alyssa was nervous and felt a bit in the dark about how this whole thing worked because no one had ever really explained how it worked, all she knew was that it was all Sixth Years attending the lessons this year and that getting an Apparation licence was a big thing in the Wizarding World, especially for the younger crowd who had yet to ever experienced it like everyone else had. Ariah was still only sixteen as well, which meant that she was still underage in the Wizarding world and would continue to stay that until May of this year so it made Ariah wonder that if she did manage to pass this if she would even be allowed to Apparate as she wished to. Well either way it would be something useful to have to she was going to go for it. Maybe it would impress her brothers enough to get their attention for more than ten minute's or something. They all had women and jobs now so it was pretty hard to keep their attention on her for awhile. The older she got the harder it got to impress them and that was just a complete and utter let down. Oh well, it wasn't like she was any less important than the rest of them anyways. Ariah would make sure that one way or another she'd get the attention she deserved from them. She was a Slytherin Prefect, she was doing well in all her classes, and she was freaking adorable! What more did they want.

Ariah Rowan gathered into the Great Hall along with the other Sixth Years that were bold enough to take their Apparation Test. Well right now it was only the lessons for it but one had to be bold to ever consider coming here. They all had heard about tales of people splinching. Ariah decided not to focus on the splinching and tried to think of something else. Like how different the Great Hall looked with all the house tables taking up all the space they usually did and were now pushed away to the side. The Slytherin Prefect listened closely to the woman as she spoke about the key points of Apparating and also how the charm that prevented people from apparating within the castle grounds had been lifted for the purposes of these lessons. Oddly enough most of the time Ariah forgot that the charm even existed because she never had a reason to remember it. Shaking her head softly for a moment Ariah refocused her attention onto the Professor just in time to hear her talk about The three D's. Something that would apparently become a very important key if Ariah wanted to ever be able to Apparate Properly and not kill herself in the process. 'Destination. Determination. Deliberation..got it!' Ariah carefully repeated to herself in her mind a few times before she smiled and looked around the room with widened mint green eyes. Watching people Apparate was so cool, it made her want to learn to Apparate more with everytime she saw someone else do it perfectly. Then again how many people were as clumsy as she was? Although though they didn't get to do any actual apparating today Ariah was just happy the lessons had begun for her, she still needed more practice and confidence before she tried anything in this class anyways. Slowly and steady was good for someone who was accident prone to injuries and such. Right after listening to Professor Finch's warning not to try apparating or anything Ariah nodded with a small smile on her face and left the Great Hall, repeating The 3 D's over and over again in her mind. Ten galleons was put on that she would be forgetting those within the hour or so.

--The Apparation lessons was something that the young Gryffindor Prefect was dreading. Ryuu Arai was not very good in performing magic which was a great setback because Apparation required great magic anyway. Ryuu really did not know how he would be able to perform such a task. Ryuu actually had no idea who would be teaching it but he hoped that it was not a professor that he could not stand actually. Though there was not a professor that Ryuu did not appreciate in some art or form. Getting dressed in his Gryffindor robes, the badge on his chest, Ryuu made his way to meet with the other sixth years to the Apparation lesson. Ryuu glanced around the Great Hall with the other sixth years to see that they were all here for the lesson as well. The Great Hall itself had the tables pushed off the side. There was plenty of space in here now. Ryuu laid his eyes on the Ministry woman that was teaching thing this time rather than a professor. She introduced herself as Irene Finch from a whole other department of the ministry that Ryuu had never heard of actually. And then they were told that they must focus on the three Ds. Ryuu thought, Okay, it is Destination, Determination and Deliberation. Just have to remember that. Ryuu heard the pop and then she had apparated, demonstrating her apparating to the back of the Great Hall. It did not seem so hard actually, and maybe Ryuu could do it as well. He hoped that he would anyway. Apparating would prove useful. Ryuu repeated those three Ds in his mind, and he listened to her warning and then the dismissal. Ryuu took his time in leaving, so that he would not have to get caught up in the crowd. He left the great hall so that he could remember the Ds.

Amaryllis had arrived at the Great Hall a little later than her fellow sixth year students and it had made her rathe uncomfortable, she didn't know any of the sixth years, her only friends since transferring from Hogwarts Scotland were Riley and Jennifer, both of them in their seventh years and set to graduate and leave her behind. But Amaryllis Bella had guessed that apparation lessons were mandatory or some kind of requirement, so the clumsy girl had pulled on her uniform as she hadn't been told what the dress requirement was, so when she had arrived she stood at the back of the crowd and listened carefully to the woman in charge, standing lightly on the tips of her toes so that she could hear better. She was pleased they weren't trying anything too soon, just having to remember the three D's that she had heard announced and explained and then heard a little frightening crack! and the ministry worker was gone. It seemed easy enough, though the Slytherin girl had to admit that it probably wasn't so she repeated in her head; Destination, Deliberation...No, Determination, Deliberation. The sixteen year old assured herself she would be fine if she could remember those three words, and Jennifer could always help her if need be.
