After removing her Ministry robe and placing it on the nearest chair, Irene Finch set to work preparing the room for the exam that the students were about to take. It was much easier to move around in her dress without the robes hampering her progress. The woman finally decided that the room was just the right amount of full for the exam to take place. She'd specifically asked the Headmaster to not move the tables out of the way for the students' exam. If they were going to be licensed apparationers, then they would need to possess the ability to adapt to their surroundings. Apparating across an empty room was convenient, but it wasn’t going to be likely that all of the apparition attempts would be to empty spaces. This would be an especially important test for those students who were interested in Ministry positions as apparating was a requirement for most positions.

Heading to the doors of the Great Hall, Irene stepped out to greet the students who were waiting just outside. The students were seated on the benches that had been provided to await their turn. "Good afternoon" she greeted. "In a moment, I'll begin calling you in alphabetically by your last name. Once I do, I'll ask you to apparate to a spot somewhere in the room. You will only get one shot. I will not pass you if even a hair remains where you once stood." Irene pursed her lips, her expression showing the gravity of the situation. She wanted that fact to be clear because she hated the annoying begging that came when a student failed. She looked at their faces, wondering which ones she would be seeing in the courses that were provided by the Ministry throughout the year. Many people failed the exam on their first try, but the woman did nothing to reassure the students of this fact.

Stepping back into the room, where her clipboard was already magicked to take notes, Irene glanced at the list and then called the first student forward. Once the student was inside, Irene shut the door tightly and began the exam.
Roleplay your character's attempt to apparate to a point in the room. Don't forget that there are tables and chairs around as well.

You will get a P or T depending on whether you roleplay your character succeeding or failing. House points will be given for the level of detail in your roleplay regardless of passing or failing. Feel free to godmod only if it is necessary to your roleplay. If you have any questions, you know what to do.

Sage Ottavi was pretty excited about this exam. This was the first time she could say she'd been excited about an exam ever. it was just the kind of thing that she was looking forward to and not just because of what it meant outside of this school. She was pretty happy about being able to learn, and now all she had to do was pass it. She had managed it in class so she wasn't exactly worried about not being able to do it here and now. Which was exactly why she was excited about it. It meant that when she left school she'd be able to go places she'd never been before. See new things, try new things. It was just a way for her to expand her horizons and escape quickly if need be. She was pretty happy about what this day would bring her, as long as it went well. She stepped into the Great Hall, and was faced with tables and chairs. Well, this was a curve ball, she didn't remember the hall ever having other things, but she figured that was part of the learning process or well, being sure that she'd be able to do it after in the wider world. Sage sat on the bench and waited for the professor to start the exams. It appeared that they'd go one by one alphabetically. This was the point where Sage was glad her last name began with O.

This sixth year class however was not that large, so it wasn't long till the woman called her name. Sage stood up and walked to a certain point in the room. She looked to the woman to get an indication to start, not wanting to rush into it. Sage took a small breath when she got the indication she needed. She knew the spot she needed to be. It was blocked by tables and chairs. She focused, reminding herself of the three D's, Destination, Determination, Deliberation. She knew where she wanted to go, so she pictured the destination, she was determined to get there. She concentrated and for a few moments nothing really happened then she felt the pull. Sage just let her concentration grow at this point and focused. Allowing herself to be pulled and allowing that feeling to move her. When it all stopped Sage let out a breath and then checked herself over, one ensure that she'd reached the point and then ensuring that she was all together. She didn't have even the slightest hair out of place. Which ended up being fine. Sage felt pretty confident that she had passed that exam. it was really one of the few times that Sage could say with such certainty that she'd probably passed. The slytherin prefect waited for the professor to double check it before telling her if she'd passed or not. In any case, Sage was sure she'd sit this test as many times as it took. She would never allow herself to not be able to apparate.

This was it. Today, they would be having their apparition exam. Aaren sat outside the great hall, waiting for her turn to arrive. She would be lying if she said that she wasn't nervous, for she was. Failure was not an option in this exam. She had to pass, otherwise, she didn't know how she would face her parents. She had failed them too many times to count, and though usually, she would tell herself that it was fine and that she wasn't hurt, sometimes, it does affect her greatly. She glanced around and watched the rest of the sixth years. They weren't many. She tried to gauge their reactions. Were they as nervous as she was? Or were they confident that they would pass with little difficulty? She shook her head. No. Now's not the time to think about such things. She shouldn't compare herself with others. She had to focus on passing. Still, that did little to calm her nerves. She would be less nervous if they were allowed to practice outside their apparition lessons. But they weren't. She bit her lip, waiting. Sitting there with nothing to do but wait for her name to be called was like waiting for a death sentence. It wasn't a pleasant feeling at all.

Soon, their Professor briefed them about the exam. They would be called one by one, alphabetically. She watched the first student enter the room, silently praying that there wouldn't be much trouble. Sure, she was worried about passing, but that wouldn't stop her from wishing other people well. Then it was her turn. She stood up, took a deep breath, and entered the room. Well this was it. She had only one chance. She wouldn't fail. She couldn't fail. She had her hair tied in a tight bun for this. She looked around the room. It was filled with tables and chairs. That would increase the difficulty of the exam. She had been hoping that it would be as spacious as when they practiced, but apparently, she was being too optimistic. She stood at the end of the room, scanning it, taking a quick mental picture of it, noting where the tables and the chairs stood. She looked at their Professor, waiting for her instruction. There's no use being nervous now. She had to trust herself. She would succeed. She had to. She would pass this exam. She nodded when she had been told where she had to apparate. The top of the table at the left side of the room. She glanced at it, there were a couple of chairs blocking it, and it was a few tables away from where she stood. She fixed her hair and muttered a few words of encouragement to herself. She knew the process that she had to take. She reminded herself of the three Ds, Destination, Determination, Deliberataion. She focused on the place where she wanted to go. Blocked out all the unnecessary thoughts until only her desired destination remained. She pictured herself getting there. She had to get there. She had to. She had her eyes close, concentrating. She repeated the process, constantly reminding herself of the three Ds. And then she felt it, she felt the pull. She didn't resist. She allowed herself to be pulled, refusing to lose focus. When the feeling stopped, she immediately checked her position. She was in a higher point than she was earlier. She glanced at her feet. She was on top of a table. Good. The question was, was she able to apparate on top of the right table? It was as if her heart was doing somersaults as she checked her position. Be on the left side of the room. I have to pass. Tell me I passed. And then she laughed. Unable to contain her happiness, she laughed until she felt tears forming in her eyes. She did it. She succeeded. She was able to apparate to where she was supposed to go. She reached out to her head, and the checked herself, making sure that she didn't splinch herself. Good. As far as she could see, she was able to apparate completely. She stood up and jumped off the table. She walked to where their Professor was, waiting for her to deliver her verdict, to tell her whether she passed or not. She was hoping that she did. She didn't really want to entertain the possibility of her failing.

No, Mandalyn was not ready for that morning. She had an empty stomach, too nervous to eat. She felt ill just thinking about the exam. She had done well practicing, but this was different. If she didn't manage to get through this exam she would never reach her goals. What kind of wizard couldn't apparate after all? The terrible kind, the kind that learned nothing from nowhere, and failed in life. Mandalyn would be a failure. The poor snakes eyes welled as she entered the room, trying to calm her nerves. Her friends told her she would be just fine, but she was such she wasn't going to be. She was going to fail. She wouldn't be able to make it across the room, she would hurt herself she was nearly sure. She wouldn't get her license, and she was going to lose track of finding her mom because she wouldn't be able to afford flying. She had written a letter to Rosie about it, obviously anxious. He offered encouragement constantly but it was never enough to calm her mind. Mandalyn was much to harsh on her self, her ambition to be the best telling her that she was the worst. Still, she had to swallow her pride, as the exams began.

Mandalyn was third in line, responsible for watching other succeed and set the bar high. The first woman was another slytherin like herself - Sage right? She was a prefect, there was no way she could fail. She watched her make it across the room, completely safe, completely fine. She was beautiful, graceful without a hair out of place. Would Mandalyn look like that, would half her hair get splinched off? Would she lose an arm, and be forever disfigured. Maybe, maybe she would pass without a hitch. Doubtful. She then watched a Gryffindor, petite in size and kind in nature, approach to do her exam. It was nerve wracking to watch one after another person succeed in their attempts to do something Andi had only dreamed of doing before. She sighed, before she knew it, she heard her name called. Her stomach did a back flip. She was sure this was going to be it, she was either going to die - or worse, fail.

Mandalyn approached and waited for a nod and then stared ahead. She first looked at the obstacles that she needed to avoid no matter what. She didn't want to land on a table and break something. She then looked where she needed to go, repeating the three d's in her mind. She was prepared, she could do this. She had to do this. There was no fail, or else she was going to be out of luck. So there she was, closing her eyes and picturing the place. The exact spot. The x she needed. She needed to go to it - and in that moment, Mandalyn was whisked away. She kept her eyes squeezed shut, and the room spun for a moment. Her stomach was more and more upset by the second. She opened her blue orbs briefly - she had made it to the right spot. She was about to begin celebrating when last night's dinner made a come back. It was such a small amount, but enough to completely embarrass the part Veela. Before knowing whether or not she passed, she made a dash out of the exam room, sure that they had a spell to clean it up.
