Irene Finch used her wand to move some chairs against the wall and looked around the Great Hall, her arms crossed under her chest when she'd finished. She'd specifically asked the Headmaster to not move the tables out of the way for the students' exam. If they were going to be licensed apparationers, then they would certainly need to possess the ability to adapt to their surroundings. They wouldn't always be able to apparate into an open field or empty room. This would be an extremely important test for those students who were interested in Ministry positions as apparating was a requirement for most positions.

Heading to the doors of the Great Hall, Irene wondered whether the students were nervous or anxious or simply ready for the exam to be over with. She stepped out, opening the door only enough so she could slip out. She didn't want the students to get a glimpse of the set up until they entered the room. Already, the students were seated on the benches that had been provided to await their turn. "Good afternoon" she greeted. "In a moment, I'll begin calling you in alphabetically by your last name. Once I do, I'll ask you to apparate to a spot somewhere in the room. You will only get one shot. I will not pass you if even a hair remains where you once stood." Irene pursed her lips. She wanted that fact to be clear because she hated the annoying begging that came when a student failed. It was just a hair, Who needs the tip of their pinky? and But my socks are under my shoes. Who would notice that? were comments that students had given her in the past, thinking that it would change Ms. Finch's mind. Each one of those students had sat for additional classes and taken the exam the next time it was offered.

Stepping back into the room, where her clipboard was already magicked to take notes, Irene glanced at the list, her blue eyes scanning and wondering how many would succeed. She called the first student forward. Once the student was inside, Irene shut the door and began the exam.

Roleplay your character's attempt to apparate to a point in the room. Don't forget that there are tables and chairs around as well.

You will get a P or T depending on whether you roleplay your character succeeding or failing. House points will be given for the level of detail in your roleplay regardless of passing or failing. Feel free to godmod me if it is necessary to your roleplay. If you have any questions, you know what to do.

The great hall hadn't changed at all; there were overturned desks and a thick layer of dust over almost everything in the hall. So many things had happened in this very hall during his six years at Hogwarts. Untold memories once were fresh inside his wise mind that the boy would never forget. Yerik Rhys Price was uncertain if he'll be able to complete their exam, it's either he'll fail or accomplish it. The sixth year could feel his whole body tense up, as his anxiety starts to kick in. He couldn't help but worry, since there are no room for mistakes. The Great Hall seems to be cluttered with tables and chair, a perfect venue for them to apparate. Entering the premises, he saw their instructor. Ms. Irene Finch, he didn't know if she's hoping for someone to fail. "Breath." he thought to himself as he waited to be called. Thank Merlin, today they'll be called alphabetically. Since he's family name is Price, it would take some time before it would be his turn. He quietly watched the rest, some failed and some apparation went well. Those bright blue eyes of his scanned the entire hall, watching everyone apparate. He could feel the chills on his skin, as a student finishes it just means he's close to apparating as well for the exam. When it was his turn to be called, Yerik Rhys approached the spot and focused on the target. From end to end of the hall, he needed to apparate flawlessly.

"Destination. Determination. Deliberation". he repeated inside his head, since the three D's helped him a lot to focus and concentrate. In just a few seconds he disappeared in thin air and began to apparate, he could feel the tube like feeling, being sucked into some kind of vortex. Yerik Rhys could feel his whole body cooperating, it didn't took long before he arrived his destination. From end to end, he landed quite smashing to be honest. He balanced himself and adjusted his stance as he landed on the right spot. He looked around, a fond smile on his face. The prefect felt relieved to finish and accomplish their exam, he hoped for a passing grade will do. Once he was done, he walked across the room and waited for further instructions from their instructor. He continued to watch the rest and up to the very last student, he waited everyone to be finish. He stood there, while his bag slung around his shoulder, ready to leave if permitted to. His thoughts wandered across his day and then back through his week, and his months worth of experience. What his brain was trying to do was to come up with a new routine for contact juggling. Still the thoughts of contact juggling helped to occupy his time for now, while waiting for the others to finish. They would likely occupy his mind for the upcoming exams as well, preferably for muggle studies.

Samual felt like his heart was beating inside his throat. He stood silently beside some chairs where they were offered seating if they so desired. Sammy slowly began to pace on an oblong. This was either a pass of fail situation, there wasn't really any in-between with this particular exam. That was what terrified him the most. Well, he wasn't exactly terrified, he just felt a little sick, like his heart moved to his throat and that he was isolated. It didn't feel good. He shook his head. This was just nerves. He had to get rid of the nerves if he was going to do this. He wanted to get this over with. He wanted to get this over with quickly and he wanted it to go well. There really wasn't much point in failure. There was no point in stressing over something that has no happened yet. Jack would be killing him right now for behaving in this way. The Gryffindor tucked his hands in his sleeves while his arms crossed his chest. He rocked on his heels. He couldn't sit down right now, he had to stand and he had to pace and think. What were the three D's? Destination, Determination and Deliberation. That was it.

The Gryffindor's name was called and that was that. As soon as he managed to calm himself down, it happened. He felt a little uneasy. He looked at the spot that he was going to apparate to. It was a nice spot. He liked that spot. he reminded himself that it was okay to breathe, and also reminded himself that it would be really unwise to fail this. Sammy wasn't sure if there was ever a time that he was more determined to get anywhere. Now he just had to think about the spot, and hopefully all would go well. The spot would normally look so close. he could easily walk there. But right now it appeared to be, so, so far away. He nodded to himself. It was within apparating distance and he was going to get there - hopefully in one piece. Other people had done it before him, he was capable of doing this. He'd done it before. There was no problem. The Gryffindor braced himself and his uneasy nerves were quickly replaced with the sucking feeling. It was still slightly comforting, as it backwardly meant that he was actually apparating and not standing around like a frightened child.

The Gryffindor held his hands out a little to make sure he did not fall down. To his knowledge, he was not in anything, that was a plus. Samual looked around when he hit the spot. He quickly counted his fingers and wiggled his toes. Everything feel fine. Everything felt like it was in place. He couldn't see an arm over there or a foot lying on the ground. A small smile grew on his face, which turned into a huge grin. It took everything to not make some sort of exclamation. He hadn't lost a limb! That was a personal achievement in his eyes.

Zayne Baros was really nervous about the exam coming up. Apparation exam and he just could barely contain it. He walked up to the Great Hall and saw that there were some students around the doors and the doors were shut. Zayne sighed and he waited with the rest of the students when it came down to this exam. He was really nervous over it. What could be done? He needed to learn how to apparate so that he could go see Kaia whenever he wanted. Though he really thought that his broom was a better way to travel than anything else. Floo was too messy too. He looked ahead and he waited for the lady to step out. Once she had, she greeted them and then they were going to be doing the exam separately. Well, that did take some nerves from him since he did not have to perform in front of many people. It was by the last name too and so he was one of the first one up there. Zayne heard his name called out so he entered the Great Hall, and he saw that there were tables and chairs still in there. They could not apparate in an empty room?

And he had one shot at it. He thought of the three D's. Destination, Determination and Deliberation. So he looked across the Great Hall and he could see where he wanted to be. He wanted it more than anything, and now it was the final one. He turned and apparated, but there was one problem. Due to his nervousness, Zayne apparated when he was not ready. When he landed, it was in the middle of the Great Hall, and he felt a white hot wave of pain coming from his arm. As it turned out, when he apparated, he left behind flesh and not a whole body part thankfully. Zayne could feel the blood pouring down his arm, and he turned to face Irene. "Uh...I need to go to the nurse..." Zayne's voice was strained against the pain, and it was enough to bring tears to his eyes. He failed the test for sure, but he was sure as hell not apparating after this. Taking his robe that he brought with him, he used his left arm to wrap around his right arm. He quickly left the Great Hall, hurrying to the nurse and hoping no one stopped him on the way,

Hades Styx the Second could seriously think that he was ready for the exam. Apparation was not that bad, since he had apparated last lesson. The rest of the exams for him was easy, but he was going to get this done, one way or another. He smirked as he approached the Great Hall, but saw that the doors were closed. Irene Find must be working on the set up that they were going to have to work around. Hades was sure that he would get it done. He looked down at the floor as he waited for the instructor to come out and tell them what they needed to do. Hades was also sure that he would be one of the last ones to be called in there since he was sure that they were going to be doing this one by one, from what he found out by Mylie.

Soon enough Irene came out, and then told them what he was suspecting. Since his last name started with S, he had to wait for a bit. Though his eyes widened a bit when he saw Zayne rushing out. Looking at the boy’s arm, Hades had to hold back his laughter because one would be able to tell easily that he splinched himself. Eventually he was called into the Great Hall. He entered through the doors and his onyx eyes gazed along the tables. So that was the bid surprise. Hades focused on what the three words were and he found a spot in the corner across the Great Hall. He smirked and he turned on the spot, and apparated over to the spot. He checked his body, clothing, and hair and it seemed like he had apparated successfully. He did not splinch anything off. He nodded to the instructor and he left the great hall, knowing he had passed.

Athena sat on the bench beside her cousins as she awaited the apparition exam. Her legs were crossed at the ankles and her hair was hanging over her face as she stared down at her feet and tried her best to not hyperventilate. Athena had done side-along apparition her entire life and she was desperate to pass this exam on her first try. As far as she knew, everyone else in her family had. Looking up as the Ministry worker came out and addressed them, Athena admired the woman’s shoes for a moment before shifting her silver eyes to the woman’s face so she could pay attention. The instructions were simple. Succeed or Fail. Letting out a breath as the woman returned to the Great Hall with the first student, Athena slouched in her seat. It would be a long wait for her. She was fairly certain that she would be the last student to go. Athena kept her gaze on the ground, going over the three ‘Ds’ as she waited. Each time the door opened, she would briefly look up. The look on the sixth years’ faces told all. Only one truly frightened her. It was when Zayne, her fellow Slytherin, had bolted off clutching his shoulder, his face pale. Athena had exchanged a wide-eyed look with some of the others before pulling her legs up and hugging them with her arms.

Finally, she was the only one on the bench. Athena stood and began to pace, her flats shuffling along the floor. It seemed to take forever before the girl before her exited, a satisfied look on her face. Athena looked away quickly, heading for the door even before her name was called. She entered the room and walked to Ms. Finch. The woman was shorter than her but carried herself as if she was taller. Athena’s silver eyes met the woman’s blue ones as she was told her destination. Turning to the far end of the hall, Athena focused on the staff table. She was to land on top of it. Taking a deep breath, Athena let it out slowly. She knew her Destination. Closing her eyes slowly, Athena thought of landing on the spot just where the Headmistress’ plate would sit. She slowly spun, the familiar yet still uncomfortable sensation of being suffocated and squeezed through a tube coming over her. When she opened her eyes, the Slytherin stumbled slightly, disorientated from the fact that she was now facing the opposite direction. Athena didn’t feel any pain and she quickly looked down to her skinny jeans and her top. Everything seemed to be in place. “Pass” Ms. Finch declared from the back of the room. Athena grinned and hopped down from the table, her feet almost sliding out from under her as her flats landed on the wax floor. Righting herself, the teen happily walked out of the Great Hall, eager to send a message to her father and Levi to tell them that she had passed.
