It was the start of fifth year, or as most of her professors like to call it OWL year. Sky was not looking forward to the exams. she had never been the kind of person to do well at school. or do well in exams. she didn't mind. exams were rather close minded only looking at one form of knowledge, of intelligence. and she knew that wasn't where her strengths were. but she also knew that she had to actually pass them so here she was siting in the lounge a book in front of her trying to read through the techniques of transfiguration and commits the different types to memory. She fidgeted as she sat her mind trying to commit the words to something that she could process better but it wasn't going well. she sighed turned the page and picked up an orange pencil making starting to make notes of ideas for club fair and what the CAC could do over the year.

apologies for taking 600 years

Gwen was confident fifth year would be her year. She hadn’t shined the way she wanted to last year, because a stupid boy had dragged her down. She wasn’t going to make the same mistake again. The next boyfriend she’d have she wouldn’t really like, that was just an easy way to get hurt. And next time, Gwen was doing the dumping. She headed to the student lounge in search for some of her friends, scanning the room for Molly or Renata, even Crystal would do. But she didn’t spot any of them. In fact, the only person she spotted was Sky. Maybe it was a good thing neither of the other two Hufflepuff girls were here. Gwen sat down near Sky and glanced at her distastefully, saying nothing for now.
