It was the morning after sorting and Olive pinned her Prefect's badge onto her cloak. Today would be interesting; her first year with some form of responsibility. She had always expected her sister to take this place; yet Riley had missed out on being a Prefect at Beauxbatons. Perplexed as to how she got the position, Olive picked up the notebook and ballpoint that'd been discarded on her four-poster and moved down through the commonroom. Students were milling about, standing around the warm fire to counteract the chill of the New Zealand Spring. Olive smirked at the lack of uniform in the room. Everyone seemed to be in Mufti when they were supposed to be in uniform. The Prefect strolled to the door, tugging it open and hurrying down the few flights of stairs to the Great Hall. A smile crept over Olive's face, excited for her new position in school. Making her way to the Hufflepuff table, Olive took a piece of toast, sat down, and looked about at the other students. Life was behaving nicely.

Justin walked into the Great Hall, taking a good look around. He knew that he didn't exactly want to sit with the Ravenclaw's today. It was his second year as a Prefect, and he knew that he would have to step up his game if he was to obtain Head Boy next year. It was definitely going to be interesting if he did end up getting it. Because he knew there were a lot of people in his year who were equally as deserving of the title as him, and some were probably even more deserving of it then he was. Oh well, he all have equal chance of getting it. Justin thought, knowing that that was true, and that was how it would stay. It was up to the Headpeople at the end of the day, so he would have to make sure that he did a good job at being a Prefect, and just making sure that he was Head Boy material. It was what he wanted, and he would do his best to get it.

Justin saw one of the newer Prefects over at the Hufflepuff table. He probably wouldn't be welcome over there, but he was always willing to try and make a new friend and just see how it would all play out. Justin knew that as she was a Prefect, she had to have some traits that would coincide with Justin's traits. This would make her a good friend, and a trustworthy friend. Justin walked over to the Hufflepuff table, and sat across from her. He was wearing his Ravenclaw Robes and his Prefects badge, so naturally this turned a few heads. But he didn't care, he was having fun so far, and he didn't care what people would say to him. "Hey there! I'm Justin, one of the Ravenclaw Prefects. You must be one of the new Hufflepuff Prefects?" Justin asked, smiling brightly.

Hope you didn't mind. ^_^ It said open. :r

Without really watching what she was doing, Olive buttered her toast and took a bite. Some second years were bickering down the table, and she wasn't sure about whether or not she should split them up. A Ravenclaw distracted her from watching the younger students, and Olive, without really thinking about house rivalry or anything, grinned up at him. "Hey, Justin," the Hufflepuff replied to the other Prefect. Her voice was a bit high-pitched, and Olive cringed inwardly at it. She hated her talking voice. She summoned up a bit more confidence and finished her sentence, yet again wondering why someone as socially awkward as herself was chosen to be a Prefect. "I'm Olive, and I'm one of the new Hufflepuff Prefects." Justin probably didn't even notice the voice she hated, but Olive most definitely did.
