It had been an interesting third year so far for Leila. With Jess feeling so down it was as if she had lost her right arm and she tried to spend as much time as she could with her best friend. So it was a shock to have been asked to the Valentines Dance by Ulrich. Leila, had seen very little of the Slytherin compared to last year. They had only really spoken in the classes they had shared with each other but there was something about Ulrich that kept him on Leila's mind. So she happily accepted his invitation to the dance and spent all afternoon getting ready for it. Once the time had come she said goodbye to Jess and hugged her deeply before she left the dorm room for the Great Hall where the two agreed to meet. She waited right by the big wooden double doors, she figured it would be the easiest place for them to spot each other.

After the incident with Brooklyn Ulrich was just looking forward to a night where he could relax and have a good time and he couldn't think of anyone he would rather do that with than Leila Walden. He hadn't seen as much of the bubbly Gryffindor as he would have liked during their third year so far and he was hoping that would change soon. He had asked the girl to the Valentines dance and his intention wasn't friendship, hopefully, she felt the same. Once Ulrich was ready he left the common room and made his way to the entrance hall where he found Leila waiting for him by the big wooden doors that lead to the Great hall. "Leila you look beautiful," He said kissing her cheek once he reached her. "Shall we go in?"

Leila spotted Ulrich straight away and she bounded over to him just before he reached the entrance to the Great Hall. "Thank you!" she said breathlessly, touching her cheek where Ulrich had just kissed her "you look really good too!" she complimented in return. "Yes! Lets go in! I can hear my favourite song playing. Quickly!" she said grabbing his hand and running into the Great Hall. They reached the dancefloor and an upbeat song was playing so Leila began to dance on her own, spinning around several times and giggling to herself, she loved dancing and she hoped Ulrich did too.

"Thank you," Ulrich smiled at Leila as she excitedly said they should go in because her favourite song was playing. Ulrich knew by now that the best thing to do was just to go along when Leila got excited so he took her hand and allowed himself to be dragged inside. "I don't know this one," Ulrich said referring to the song but it had a nice beat to it and it was fun to watch Leila dance to the music. He laughed along with her and danced with the music next to his date.

Leila shrugged her shoulders at Ulrich "it doesn't matter!" she shouted, half laughing grabbing his hand and twirling herself into him. Almost instantly the song changed to a slower one and Leila looked up at Ulrich and blushed. She much preferred the faster songs, it made things less... awkward. She broke away from him and looked to the floor, not sure if he wanted to dance to something as slow as this.

Ulrich smiled widely as Leila swung into his arms but before long the song changed to a slow one and suddenly Leila's demeanor changed. He held out his hand hoping she would take it. "We can dance to this too," He said quietly.
