The ball was approaching Khalil faster than he had anticipated. The caretaker of the building had plenty of prep work to do, including deciding on decorations which would of course make the jobs for the professors and heads easier. Being a care taker meant everything needed to be in top shape or he'd lose his job. The older man had spoken to his sister, but she denied having a date or wanting to go to the ball. Khalil thought she'd have fun, but he was only one person and it wasn't as if he could make her do so. He wondered if Beanie had even made any friends - she had a fairly reclusive personality, quite the opposite of him.
Khalil worked and hummed, enchanting different objects to help him clean as he worked. A smile was spread on his face as he used a tape measure to figure out how much he'd need in streamers and how many magically protected balloons he might need. He thought that perhaps he could enchant some snow in them and cause them to burst - would that be allowed? The tall man shrugged, didn't matter if it was or not really, he generally had creative freedom. He moved around to the different places where seats would be set up, and places where the punch and refreshments would be, deciding on table measurements and cloths, all the while humming along to a song in his head and smiling.
