It had been eight months, getting closer to a year before he had left his throne for a while. Asparuh Zhefarovich the Third had been looking nonstop. Volos had seen Danielle, and Asparuh had seen it. He had demanded why Volos had taken so long, but Volos had only told him that he had been to see Danielle to see how she was coping, but Asparuh shut him up with a heavy blow to the head. That was months ago. Asparuh was looking in scroll after scroll, but it seemed like the search was not getting anywhere. He had considered pausing it, to begin again, however he saw no need. If he was going to pause it, then it would mean that it did not matter, and it did. He was looking for a way to cheat death. And he was going to keep looking. Sitting down in his chair, he opened another scroll, one that the ink had started to fade, and it was definitely older than he. He looked over the words, before he heard Volos going through other books. The servant had done well, and Asparuh was very pleased. He would keep the house elf for around as long as he needed. And he would need him for a long time. Asparuh looked forward, and then put the scroll down for the moment. He turned around in the chair, to see Volos, before he narrowed his onyx eyes. He wondered if the house elf had given up hope. It had been eight long months. Asparuh put the scroll to the side. He inquired, "Volos, honest answer. Do you think that this journey of mine is a waste of time?" Asparuh dared the elf to give out his opinion, but either way, it was not like he was not going to listen. It was going to be worth it. Immortality, something that others would not dare for, and others would not ever hope to achieve. He was a powerful dark wizard, he believed, and he would be able to to do it. Asparuh did not doubt his power or abilities, though he knew, others would by now.

After acknowledging the elf's opinion, Asparuh went back to the scroll. He read the scrolls, and then there was an unfamiliar word. There was something there, and it was in Bulgarian, the scroll was but this word was in English. Or Latin. Then he found it. The word, it struck out to him after he had tried everything he could for the past eight months. Horcrux. The information came flooding into his brain, as he looked and translated the words on the scroll in his mind. 'The Darkest object, to maintain a way to live but at a terrible price.' However there was not another bit of information there. He rolled the scroll up, and though he knew that a Horcrux was a dark object, but this had peaked his curiosity. They were rare, he knew no one that had one, but he would have to find out what it was exactly. It was a way to live. Live forever perhaps? He put the scroll into his robes, after he had looked through nearly every book, and every scroll, this was the only one that even mentioned the word. There was no known incantation, information, nothing more on it. This was frustrating. Asparuh rose up from his seat, and he looked toward Volos. There was evidence in his eyes that he had found something. He would ask the elf, as he had been around for a long time, if he had heard of anything like it. Asparuh approached him, and knelt down. He got the scroll out of his robes, unrolled it, and he pointed the word out to the elf. "Tell me everything you know about this item, and how do I manage to find or make one." Asparuh didn't know yet that it would involve ripping a soul apart, a killing involved, but he just found the word, and read that it would be a way to live, even at a terrible price. He would go to the ends of the Earth to see what this price was, and see if he was willing to take it. Asparuh waited for the house elf to answer him.

Volos continued to read the information, learning more than any house elf should. He read on wars, Herpo the Foul, everything else. Volos was exhausted but he continued to serve his Master. Volos looked toward his Master, when Master imposed a question upon him. If this was a waste of time. Volos drew in a raspy breath, before he uttered, "Master, Volos worries over this journey. Nothing has been found in nearly a year. Volos believes, we would have seen something by now if there was a way to live forever. Volos is sorry and seeks forgiveness." Volos watched as the tall Master turned from him and went back to looking in an ancient scroll. Volos grew worried. What if he managed to find something risky, something that would be forbidden? Something that was needed for him to die, and then they fail to be brought back to life? Volos hoped that they would not be able to find anything, then they could go back to normal. Then everything would be right. Mistress would be fine, the family would be perfect, and the spread of pure-bloods would be eminent. He missed the children that were being raised in the Manor. Volos continued to look and read, but then he heard something. Master rising from his seat, and approaching him. This was not usual or common. Volos used his magic to make the books that he was reading to go back into the shelves. The scroll was unrolled in front of him, and he squinted at the word that was pointed out to him. As soon as it clicked in his mind, Volos gasped, "Master! Master cannot look in the magic that we dare not speak of! Volos knows not much of this cursed magic! Just that it is very dangerous, and one would lose one's humanity!" Volos collapsed onto his bony knees, and he bowed in front of his Master. He was not of any help, and had no means holding the Master here.

The Death Eater could not be more disappointed than what he was right now. The mention of the word Horcrux left his servant shaking in his skinny, ancient bones. This was interesting, so how dangerous was this Horcrux? He was going to find out all the information that he could on it, and he was going to seek out how to make one. He wanted to live for all eternity, and he was going to find a way. He had no idea what it was though, and he would find out. Asparuh repeated, "The magic we dare not speak of, hm? This is interesting, a way for me to reach my goals, and it leaves you quivering where you stand. For an object that you claim you don't know much about, you sure seem frightened by the mere mention of a horcrux." Asparuh was curious now, and wondered if the house elf knew anything at all. However he believed Volos. The elf had no reason to lie to him, and if he had, then Asparuh would have known. He stood up on his feet, and he snapped, all the books and scrolls that he had been looking through, and his elf as well, going back into their places. Asparuh looked around before he remembered some advice that his house elf at given him at one point. Perhaps seek out the dead for a way to live forever. Instead of asking them that question, he would contact a few older ghosts, to see if they knew anything about a Horcrux. If he could not find anything, then he would ask the other question. Asparuh murmured, "Seeing as I won't get any help here, Volos, go help out the family. I don't think I will be finding my answers here." Asparuh made sure that his cloak over his robes was fastened tight around his large shoulders. Asparuh would going to be leaving the Manor, for who knew how long. He had never vanished from the family for too long without coming back. This time may be different. He wouldn't tell anyone where he was going, or what he was going to do. He inclined his head in the direction of Volos as he heard the question from the raspy voice, "Master, where are you going? Pray tell, Master." Asparuh had debated on not telling him anything, so he was not about to tell him exactly where he was going. "I'm going out." And then Asparuh was gone. He had left the premises and his home, to find out the things that he needed answers for.

To be continued in a matter of in-character months...

It was November, and it had been one solid year since he had left his throne. Asparuh had not worried over his family, his search to see what the Horcrux was, and how it could assist him in living forever would do. However he has not figured out what it was just yet, but he was going to. That was why he was taking the advice of Volos, which was contact the dead. He had contacted with many ghosts, but he was going to someone he knew which was Nicolette's mother, someone that had been around as long as he, perhaps even longer. She was a ghost now, and he was sure that she might just know something. His mother wouldn't talk to him, but then again, Asparuh had not tried his mother either, who was around for the longest time. Asparuh arrived to where he believed Aurelie rested, for some sort of rest anyhow. Asparuh entered the large house, and he closed the door behind him. Asparuh narrowed his eyes, and he could tell that no one had been in here for years and years. Almost in ruin, however he figured that this place would be a good place to rest if he had ever found his answers. Asparuh started his search for the ghost around the place, before he entered a room, where he could find the ghost. The ghost of a Death Eater, and he folded his arms across his chest. The ghost herself was quite beautiful, but Asparuh was not about to say that, since he did not find anyone attractive at all. Asparuh leaned against the doorway before he debated on how he was going to ask about Horcruxes.

Most ghosts seemed to look at him like he had been asking them how he would want to die. He never wanted to die, and he was not going to either. He was not going to become a ghost, and he was not going to have a grave. He would rule his family for as long as it took, even though he planned on having Kalif handle the family one day. Asparuh finally made his presence known, "Aurelie Hensel, I need a few words with you, if you don't mind." She had all the time in the world to have a few moments with him, but he did not have all of the time in the world. Asparuh knew that every minute that he was here, he was getting close to his own death that was a long time away, but he was not going to let it get any worse. He would pause it eventually however. Asparuh was sure that Aurelie would not run from him, since they never crossed paths in a harsh manner. After all, Aurelie's daughter married his son. He didn't know how she was killed, but Asparuh didn't want to know either. It would not be in his best interest to ask her how she died, since he was here for one purpose, and one purpose just.

<COLOR color="#000">Aurelie was completely aware of the fact that someone was inside of the manor. Someone fully alive unlike herself and the others that resided within the decaying manor. When one was dead, there really wasn't anything else to do. Aurelie no longer had a need for food, for sleep, for love, basically she was an empty shell that remained on the earth for reasons unknown to everyone. Aurelie missed being alive. In fact she could barely remember what it was like to be alive. Just that it was a world far more amazing than the one she was trapped within now. Aurelie was unsure who the being who entered her home was, but chances were she would just scare whomever off. People from the nearby town often heard ghost stories featuring the family that once lived here. This made them travel inside to see if the stories were true. Aurlie hated them all. Was it too much to just be alone and let the family whom died here live in peace? Apparently so. The living were often so careless and stupid with their lives. It wasn't until they were faced with the fear of dying did they learn to really live and appreciate their lives. Even her own children neglected to appreciate the fact that they were alive while the rest of their family perished. But who was to blame them? Humans often never appreciated the things they had, until they no longer had them. It was disgusting.

Aurelie turned her ghostly head and eyed the man that had entered her home. She was surprised to Asparuh Zhefarovich standing there. This was a man she knew little about, except that she was many or so years older than him and his eldest son was married to Nicolette. He was also a friend, or lover, or something...to Danielle. Aurelie knew her a little bit more but that was just because that woman had a unique way of going about her business. Aurelie had great things about all of them. Aurelie was curious as to why Asparuh was here. Was it something about Nicolette or something else? "No. I don't mind." It would give her something to do other than float around and whatnot. Aurelie would never recommend this kind of life for anyone. Not even her enemies. Surely Asparuh had something important to speak to her about or he wouldn't come all the way to Russia and seek her out. Hopefully it was not about her daughter. Sometimes Nicolette could be very blunt with whatever was on her mind.

Aurelie was around the age of his mother and father, and as such, would know much more than he would ever know. Until now that is. Asparuh had always come for business, and it was rare that he had even left his throne in the Zhefarovich Manor, where everyone did what he ordered, and he was like a ruler, a god. It fulfilled his thirst for power, for now. Asparuh had asked what it was like to die when he had last spoken to his dead mother, which was a long time ago. Lady Lydia loved it, every moment of it. He never saw how that is. Dying itself, it showed weakness, and he would find a way to evade that. He was so close to his goal, he could practically taste the everlasting life he would soon possess, something that he would keep to himself so no other person could think to outdo him. However it had probably be done before. He just didn't want anyone in his family living forever. Only he was allowed to. "Nicolette is doing well, if you want to know. Still a faithful Death Eater and a skillful Animagus." Even he knew, no matter how skillful that was, it still brought her torment. His family were not exactly known for letting people be, no matter what they were. Except for Parselmouths.

There were things that should always be kept hidden, but Asparuh did not care. He was going to find out what he wanted to know, and he would do it soon. His time would run out, and then he would never become a legend in his family, despite the facts that he already was. He would accomplish the impossible. Perhaps he would tell Danielle, but he didn't know why he would. She knew the type of man he was. Surely she did not expect him to tell her everything, since they were not in 'love', something he had long ago dropped. "I came to ask you one thing. Do you know anything on horcruxes?" Perhaps there was more information on these things, and he was sure that he was going to find it eventually. Perhaps asking someone that was so much older than he would know. Asparuh would have known more on them, if Voldemort had shared information. Since Voldemort had not, there were other ways to finding out what they were, which were through a single book that existed out there. It would have the spell to make them in there, but the trick was, to find the book itself. Asparuh was unaware of all of this, but he would be soon made aware.

<COLOR color="#000">Aurelie didn't at all expect Asparuh to bring news of her youngest child and only living daughter, Nicolette. For a brief moment she wondered if he was here on Nicolette's behalf. But Aurelie soon dismissed the thought. He was the Patriarch of his family so she doubted he would be here for anyone else. Plus Nicolette knew better. "Has she been staying out of trouble? That girl seems to have a knack for finding it sometimes." Aurelie asked, her voice having a ghost wail to it almost. But that could not be helped. She was a mourning spirit. Her family was gone, she was dead and forced to remain here for the rest of, well however long she was meant to. There were times when she was reminded of how it used to be when she was alive. But her death happened nearly fifty years ago. She could just be imagining things. But Aurelie really wished she could remember. She missed being alive so much. There was no way she could ever describe how lonely it was being a ghost sometimes. Particularly when she was around those who were alive. It made her envious of them. Which explained why Aurelie never really was fond of the living visiting her old home. But Asparuh appeared to have a purpose. So Aurelie would tolerate his presence for now. He was not one to come around without reason. Aurelie just hoped that it wasn't something that Aurelie wasn't used to dealing with. What he did ask however, made Aurelie pause for a brief moment. Asparuh Zhefarovich was one brave soul. That much was for sure.

"Why on earth would you want to know about a Horcrux?." Aurelie asked as she turned to face him. The only person Aurelie knew of in existence that was brave enough to mess with the power of a Horcrux was Tom Riddle. He was crazy enough to create multiple. Why on earth would Asparuh want to subject himself to the same thing that man wanted to. Aurelie sighed. She might as well answer the man's question. He deserved an answer at least. "Horcrux is an object that a Wizard or Witch has hidden a fragment of his or her soul in for the purpose of attaining immortality. Or are you looking into how to make one too?" Aurelie could tell him so much more. But she wasn't sure how much he wanted to know. What was his purpose for wanting to know anyways? She was hoping that it was just his curiosity. But of course, it was far more than that. Why else would he come seeking help from her? A phantom.

While Asparuh did not really care for the Hensels and how they were, his private thoughts on them were not exactly positive. However, very few could actually be useful, but at the time there were not any, alive, except for Nicolette. She made his firstborn stronger, through means he had no idea, but he presumed it had to be that love business, something he refused to get into. It was weakness. "As far as I know, she is. My son has kept a strong eye on her, however she is now unable to have children. I see it as a blessing, considering that they would have had ten by now." Asparuh hated having a large family, but alas he knew that it was partially his fault as well. He had quite a few children with multiple women, and he regretted none of them except for perhaps Prodan and Iulia. The mother was worthless, so the children were just as much. All he needed was a good reason to kill off Prodan, and he would. Even Prodan's children looked like they were about as worthless as he was. The only entertainment one would receive from Prodan was when he skipped out on his medicine, and revealed the darker side to him. However that was also when the part that rendered him a crying mess came around. Asparuh felt that Prodan was the weakest link, that was the part that was horrible. Asparuh waited for his question to be answered, but he knew that if she did know anything about them, then he would be questioned on his motives. It was not like he was going to answer her however. Right now, he was looking into it.

"My reasons are private, simply researching for now. Most of the dark scrolls I own does not have the information to satisfy," answered Asparuh, though not truly answering the question. If it was one thing that he was good at, it was lying. He was practically perfect at it. Asparuh listened to what a Horcrux was, and it was splitting of the soul to obtain immortality. That sounded rather simple, as he believed that he didn't even use his soul, but the thing that got him was the word immortality. He nodded slowly, his expression not changing at all. He continued speaking to the ghost, "Yes, I am looking into how to make one, including how to splitting a soul." Asparuh was unaware of how crucial the information was, and how much he would change once he did this extreme dark magic that left his house elf shaking. What was so bad about these things, that would cause an old elf to shake, and why it was the magic that one never spoke up. Asparuh simply had to know. What was so horrible about these Horcruxes, and why no one was obtaining immortality by doing so.

<COLOR color="#000">Aurelie almost smirked. She knew that one day her daughter would have many children. She just seemed like the type to have a lot of children. But there was no issue with this because it just meant the Hensel like was spreading. Onix and his muggle friends had won the battle but it would appear as if they had lost the long war. Onix had made a large mistake by not getting rid of his two remaining children while he could. Now they were here to stay along with their children in tow. "I'm proud of Nicolette. Even if she doesn't know it, she has done us all proud. I normally don't allow those alive to wander within our home. But you're an exception as long as you do not make this into a habit." Aurelie explained. The living did not belong around the dead. Aurelie was jealous of those still alive while she was not. That was why she didn't appreciate the living being around. Especially when she didn't see them appreciating their life. It wasn't until someone no longer had a life to appreciate that they realized how important it was. Asparuh wouldn't be here unless he had some important reason, plus he was searching for a way to prolong his life. Aurelie kind of appreciated that. Aurelie floated down a little bit more so she could look at Asparuh more easily. His eyes were so dark and unreadable. He was surely one able to handle the horrible task behind creating a Horcrux. He must really fear death if he was willing to go this far to make sure he stayed alive. Aurelie sighed. She might as well reveal to him what must be done.

"To create a Horcrux you must split your soul. To split your soul you must murder another, then encase a portion of their fractured soul into a chosen object with a spell. It is written down somewhere but I not know the name of the spell by heart. Especially as I have never made one before." Aurelie explained. That was about all she knew about a Horcrux. Well that and their destruction but she was sure even Asparuh knew what those were. Unless he actually didn't then she would probably have to explain that too. Aurelie wondered if he was planning on making one anytime soon. Who would be the poor soul he would trap into that Horcrux? Aurelie couldn't even begin to pretend like she understood why Asparuh was doing this. Hopefully he wasn't planning on killing any of his family members. Aurelie kind of feared that one of these days something would happen to her precious baby.

"She has done us some good as well. She has produced one of the next Heads of my great family. Although even if I wanted to come here more often, there's not much you can do to stop someone. You are a ghost. However I will guarantee you can live your afterlife in peace." Asparuh would not bother a ghost. He had several living in the Manor with him, why would he bother her still? He had better things to do than to just sit around and bother a ghost. They were not really useful anymore. All they did was talk and make people shiver. He never saw the reason why there would be ghosts around anymore. They were useless and almost pathetic. He had Arnost back, but Asparuh was thinking that he would be better off dead. She looked into his eyes, but he ensured that when she saw into him, that she would see nothing. The information was revealed, and Asparuh raised his head a little bit. Commit a murder, and split the soul. Then place the fractured soul into a chosen object. There was a spell, but it appeared that she did not know it. "I appreciate your knowledge and wisdom. You have assisted me in finding out what I desire. I'll go find the spell, and see exactly how to do so." He turned on the spot, and he vanished, apparating away.</COLOR></FONT>

Several months later...September 2031

Asparuh had been on this long journey for almost two years now, and he had been longing to return home, where he belonged, however there was the thing. He found the spell needed to create the Horcrux, but the thing was, he did not know if he was willing to split his soul, and become different over this all. He would be unstable, and if anything happened to the horcrux, he would be vulnerable, again. He had chosen an object, something that meant something to him. It was the skull of a raven, as a necklace. It was given to him by his grandfather, Asparuh Zhefarovich II. Currently, Asparuh was in a motel room out in England, where he figured that he would be safe for now. Should he do it? Asparuh was getting anxious, but he was not feeling very good about not doing it. Asparuh let out a sigh, and he decided to make one final contact with his wife before he would choose whether or not he would go through and make the horcrux. He was still thinking on it, now that he had everything in place, but he needed to think long and hard on the entire subject before jumping into it. Going over to the desk, he retrieved a piece of parchment, ink and a quill and he started to write. Once he was done, he rolled it up, and he summoned his crow over to his side, before he sent the letter off to the Zhefarovich Manor, where his wife would receive the message.

Letter said:
<COLOR color="#000"><FONT font="Times">Danielle,

I realize I have been gone for two long years, and perhaps you may be worried, or not. Fear not because I am fine. If you are upset over my absence, feel free to go over the times you did something similar. I am on a mission, and won't come back into the mission is complete. When we were married, we swore to remain together until the days that we die. Upon my return, I may be different.

Be prepared. It has not been decided yet, but prepare yourself either way. Once I return home, I may not know just how much about myself has changed. Keep an eye on the children, and other members of the family.

Late January 2032

It had taken months to decide on whether or not Asparuh would make the horcrux. He opened the door to the house of the victim that he had chosen. The woman was home, but her family was not. He'd tie up those loose ends soon enough. Asparuh flourished his wand, and with a slight wave, the front door unlocked, revealing the pleasant house. It was small, and he ducked his hand slightly as he entered. The woman was reading a book, and Asparuh didn't even know her name. Just that she was living in Germany. She was Bulgarian, but living in a place like this. Disgraceful. Asparuh looked at the woman, whom just noticed him. He didn't to make this fun or anything. He had a ritual to do. Making a horcrux would prevent him from moving off if he were to die, if his horcrux was destroyed, but he was willing to take that risk. After all of the things he had done, he doubted that he would enjoy the afterlife very well anyway. Asparuh thought that this woman knew too much about him and his family, since Liyla couldn't keep her mouth shut. Danielle was the other one she spoke to, but this one, would have to die to become apart of his experiment. The woman saw his wand as he raised it. He looked at the door and it slammed shut.

"I don't have time for pleasantries, but you are a fool to live so far from society. No one will know you are gone. You know too much about my family, and myself." The woman screamed and cried, throwing herself to the ground, almost at his feet. He looked down, with no expression on his face. It was time. Any sort of 'good' feelings he might have developed over the years, he would surely get rid of now. "Pathetic. Avada Kedavra," incanted the ancient Death Eater. The shining green light hit her and she died just like that. After some time, and a spell was said, the darkest deed of magic was done. He held his horcrux in his hand, and he closed his hand around it. He put his wand away, and he bent down to grab the body. Gripping the shirt, he apparated away, to dispose of the body. After that was done, he looked once more at his necklace, and he put it around his neck. For now, he would keep it. Asparuh didn't feel any different, but now his soul was unstable. That was the least of his concerns now. He was now a person living against the laws of nature. Right now, he was focused on one thing, which he knew that the one thing was messed up. Now he would go to repair it.

Asparuh was coming home.

End of the Horcrux making plot
