Elara was WAY too excited to be delivering roses to people, whether they were for friends or boyfriends or girlfriends or whoever! She had sent a few herself, mainly to the yet-to-be-named troupe. Glad to see a few familiar names on the list, she made her way to the newspaper, hoping to get a good word in with the editor so that maybe she'd get a chance to write this semester. "Hi, Nell! Elara," she said, hoping the girl actually did remember her name but not expecting the older student to hold a spot in her mind for a meer second year. "I have a rose to deliver to you," she said, holding out a pink rose in front of her face. @Nell Wright

As much as she enjoyed Valentines, Nell couldn't help the fear gripping her. Had confessing her feelings to Jasper been a mistake? She didn't know, and now it was too late to take it back. She hoped he would appreciate her silly little reference to their first conversation, if nothing else. She was trying not to let her thoughts consume her by focusing on work, though her thoughts were quickly interrupted. "Hi Elara!" She said brightly, pleased to see one of the paper's newer interns. Those thoughts were quickly overshadowed though as she took in the colour of the rose the girl was holding, eyebrows shooting into her hairline. It was pink. "Oh!" Nell said quickly, feeling the thumps of her heart echoing all through her body as she took the rose, opening the note with shaking hands, desperate to see what it said.

Elara quickly handed Nell the rose, seeing that she didn't look as excited as others had when their flower had been delivered. "Did you not know you had a crush?" she asked curiously. Even though she didn't know the older girl well, it still couldn't hurt to ask.

happy valentine's day

wanna kiss?

Jasper

Nell had known sending a red rose herself was... a statement, to be sure, and she had known better than to expect the same in return. Still, it was hard not to feel a little nervous as she opened the note, nerves that only compounded as she read the note. What did this mean?! Her rose to Jasper had been funny, sure, but she had tried to be as clear as she could about what she wanted; a relationship. But this sent her mind spiralling all over again. Was Jasper just hoping to make out at the dance again? She was so absorbed in the note she forgot entirely to respond to the girl who had brought it to her, mind scrambling to try and understand Jasper's intentions.

Elara stared eagerly as she waited for Nell to respond, dissatisfied when she didn't get an answer. Maybe it was too secret to share with a second year, and Elara shrugged. "Well, happy Valentine's Day, Nell!" she said, giving her a wave. Elara figured she wouldn't press her luck since she wanted to write an article for this semester's paper.

It took Nell an embarrassingly long time to remember she wasn't alone, looking up with a quick smile to Elara. "Thank you!" She said a little too brightly. "Have a good Valentines too! Good luck with the rest of your deliveries!"
