Maisie skipped into the courtyard, finding a nice bench to set her snacks on. It was a nice night, and she smiled, turning to look up at the stars. Music drifted out from the doors from the dance. It wasn't as loud as before, feeling much nicer now that it was more of a quiet background track than verging on the point of overwhelming. She giggled and sat next to her food. "This is nice," she announced, picking up a biscuit and nibbling on it. "Thank you for coming with me," She smiled brightly at Avery.

The Yule Ball hadn't been the worst, in all of the ten seconds Avery had actually been there, but he was glad to be away from it. As the noise receded behind them, Avery felt he could think clearly again, and he took a seat beside Maisie on the bench. It was a warm night, not surprising for Summer, but it was a pleasant warmth. The Great Hall had radiated heat from the sheer size of the crowd. He picked at the food he'd brought, and looked up when Maisie spoke. "Thank you for inviting me." He said. He leaned back to look up at the night sky, and quietly enjoy the peace the courtyard offered. "Do you know many of the constellations?" He asked after a moment.​
