Maybe it had been the amount of homework and Quidditch practice Jasper had had to suffer through recently, or maybe it had been the first year that had approached him the other day, asking for advice in pranks. But Jasper had realized he had gotten boring, lately. He hadn't pulled off anything big since the Toilet Incident last year, and that hadn't even had an audience. He had been in the mood for something bad, and what better day to do it than Halloween? Jasper had stocked up on glitter bombs a while ago, and now he was carrying a few in his robes. His costume was fairly simple, but the real fun of the night would be causing some mayhem and glitter explosions. He was hoping to catch a few people off guard, though he hadn't entirely worked out how to do that yet. Jasper wasn't much of a planner, usually. But there was little that could go wrong in throwing some glitter around.

Selene made her way to the great hall. Halloween had always been fun in her family even before school and it was still fun now. she liked getting all dressed up in costume and this year was no exception. unlike last year when she had been in skin-tight super villain costumes this year her clothes were fairly normal if not a bit wrapped and stained. however she had worked hard on the makeup. She had decided to go as a zombie. she entered the great hall and paused looking at people as they filtered past her. she wasnt sure what she wanted to do this evening. she looked ans saw Cyzarine on the dancefloor but didnt feel like joining her. at least not straight away. instead, she made her way past the events again pausing to watch one lucky person hit the pinata. before making a beeline past the mirror houe to the food. before she got there she saw a familiar face. and smiled. she and jasper had never really seen eye to eye. not after he had got her in trouble all the way back in fifth year. but they were adults now. it was her last year and she had enough of arguments and grudges after bing on the harsh, even if not unjust receiving end of one. 'Happy halloween jasper." she sad. and continued to talk before her conscious min could remind her of what she had just decided on about grudges. "Is the punch okay to drink. or should i stick to something else like Braaans" she said. stretching out the last word to make it sound more zombi-ish.

Jasper reached into the pocket of his robe as someone approached him, noticing it was Selene as she came nearer. He thought her costume looked pretty cool but didn't want to tell her so. He had never really liked Selene, she always seemed like too much of a goody-two-shoes. And after breaking Nell's heart, he definitely didn't really like the girl. So it was kind of perfect that she approached him first. He grinned at her. "Happy Halloween, think fast!" He said, throwing the glitter bomb at her, aiming for the floor before her feet. The bomb would create a glitter explosion all around the area where he threw it, after all.

Selene didn't know what had made her talk to jasper. he wasn't someone she spoke to. she wouldn't say that she avoided him but she sort of did, it wasn't consciously intentional but ever since he had almost got her in trouble her in first, or was it second year she really just didnt interact with him. maybe she had been too quick to judge him. she was trying to make up for things she had done to people in the past. it was their last year and she dint want to leave the school with bad feelings towards her classmates. most noticeable of them was nell. but other people mattered too. as he though a small ball her way she took half a step back with reactons slower than an actual zombie. she certainly would not make a good quidditch player. before she knew it she was engulfed in a shower of sparkles. "Oh great. now i look like a sappy teen vampire more than a zombie." she said in a tone that wasnt entirely serious and tittered slightly towards teasing. despite her doubts getting the prefect bage in fifth year and now head girl had increased her confidence a lot and even though sh knew there would have been people better for the job than she was she appreciated the faith the headmistress put in her.
