Closed A New Tradition

While Maisie had enjoyed going to the dances before, she was also loving how much fun this new tradition was. Go to the dance, dash in and grab a bunch of snacks, then make it back to the courtyard with Avery. She settled down on the bench, setting down her plate of treats and her drink. "This is fun!" She giggled, nibbling on a macaroon.

Today had been strange. Avery was not dressed for the Valentine's Dance, since he hadn't expected to go, yet he'd somehow found himself with Maisie again, ducking into the Great Hall for only a moment, then back out to the courtyard again. He turned over a heart-shaped jam biscuit in his hand, and looked over at Maisie. "Is it?" He asked, more curious than critical. They hadn't really done anything but run around yet. She seemed more excited about it than he was. It was a strange day, but it was just another day. "Thank you for the rose. That was nice." He told her. When the note had said she wanted to hang out again, he hadn't realised how soon that had meant.​

Maisie giggled at Avery's question and nodded. "Of course it is, silly!" She winked at him. "Doesn't it feel like some grand adventure? Rushing in and out of the dance, stealing our treasures and escaping again in the blink of an eye!" She gestured dramatically with her half eaten macaroon before giggling again and settling into her seat. "Besides, I always like spending time with you," She told him, finishing her snack. She smiled brightly as he thanked her for the rose. "You're welcome! I'm glad you liked it!" She returned easily.
