Alianne Cooper carried the last box into the townhouse that she was to be sharing with her twin brother, Alex. She sat it down on the couch before turning and surveying their new home. It looked decent for what her parents could afford, not that they didn't have money. Her grandfather Tom had been heavily into the moonshine business years ago and made quite a fortune off of it. Aly didn't have a job herself but Alex did. He had been accepted as an Auror down in New Zealand and was moving there. As a spur of the moment decision, Aly had followed Alex, becoming his new roommate. The twins were as thick as thieves with each other so Alex hadn't minded when she tagged along. Their parents provided them each with a trust fund that had been building for years and now, they finally had access to it. Aly liked to think of it as a grand new adventure with a whole country just waiting to be discovered!

Alianne stands at five foot seven inch tall with long, blonde hair. She was considered to be a beauty though her most interesting feature were her eyes. They were a striking amythest color which was rare, though known to run in the family every few generations as did the likelyhood of twins. Aly had been the lucky one who got the purple eyes. Her parents had masked them whenever she went out in public with muggles as a child. They attracted too much attention to the pretty girl. It was still something she chose to hide when associating with muggles.

Aly wasn't really concerned with what she was going to do in New Zealand. She was a bright girl but it was hard to keep her attention. She didn't focus well or seem to have discovered her purpose in life. Aly was content with just having fun for the time being. She twirled a blonde curl in her fingers as she flopped over the back of the arm chair. A smile spread across her face as she waited for her brother to come back in the living room. He was still grabbing a final box from the whole moving process. She had a feeling she was really going to like this new adventure.

Small, squinted eyes looked up at Alex. Short, layered red hair curled around a narrow, dark skinned face. Two thin lips curled up in a mischievous smile. The picture of Jane McJika winked up at Alex before she shoved both hands forward, widened her eyes and began to silently yell. Beside her mouth, a speech bubble appeared, with capital letters spelling out "LET ME OUT!"

Alex grinned, his face muscles tightening, though not forcing any tears from his watery blue eyes. This picture was one of his favorites. Jane had always played around with photography and art, making funny or beautiful pictures. It was hard to believe that two years had passed since her death. No, her murder.

A noise sounded on the first floor of the house. Aly, Alex sighed. Probably bringing the rest of her stuff in. He'd already dragged his crap in and dumped it in his little room. Now he was going through one box while his sister tromped around. Quickly he slipped out of the room, his mind moving off of Jane--sorta. She was still in the back of his mind, but now he was focused on the day's chores.

He rumbled down the steps, stooped slightly to avoid the doorway--this house was not built for tall people--and walked into the living room. As he placed the picture of Jane on a cheap, though pretty looking mantle, he glanced around the place. It was decently sized, but drab, with very pale yellow paint and a dusty hardwood floor.

"We need to paint this place," he said absently to Aly, rubbing one well tanned hand through his scruffy black hair. Unlike Aly, he chose dark and darker. A dark brown T-shirt, plain black boots and black jeans were his clothe choices. "Get rid of this yucky yellow garbage. You up for that today? Or are ya too tired?"

Aly looked up as she heard Alex tramping down the stairs. She could tell he had been thinking about Jane again with the way he talked. Alex was distracted and Alianne could sense his emotions just as well as she could her own. They had always had that connection between minds, plus Alex was her best friend, no matter how much they annoyed each other sometimes. The blonde flipped herself up off the couch as he suggested that they paint the house. Her purple eyes lit up with excitement. Something exciting to do!

Aly scoffed at her brother as he suggested she was too tired. "When am I ever tired Alex?" she asked him, grinning back at her twin. She didn't think the walls were so bad but she figured he would hate the old yellow color. She looked around the room. "What color do you wanna paint it?" she asked, her voice bright. "A sky blue?" she suggested, thinking it would look nice with the dark floors and furniture.
