A New Helper

[Professor Landon Carter]

Landon was getting through his rose deliveries fairly quickly, and he was quite happy with his progress so far. He had heard that there was a new assistant for Professor Kaster, one of the Care of Magical Creatures professors, and a student had confirmed that the next person on his rose delivery list was her. He had spent some time trying to find her, and she was so far the hardest to find. As the professor approached the lakefront, he spotted a Gryffindor sitting by the water, so he made his way towards her. "Veronica? Is that you?" he asked, hoping it was. He thought he recognised the face, but as it had been some time since he had taught her and she had grown a little older, he wasn't entirely certain.

Veronica found that she enjoyed spending time by the lake, especially after she had been helping out Professor Kaster at the pavilion. She enjoyed her work and the company of the professor, both had helped her calm down after a couple of years of her being quite a destructive presence. She heard a crunch behind her and whipped her head around to see Professor Carter approaching and he seemed to be looking for her. "Professor! You really shouldn't go around sneaking up on young girls,"

Landon blushed a little at the girl's comment. "Oh, um, I'm sorry." he said, before quickly digging into his basket to find her rose. He accidentally had a habit of making students feel uncomfortable, and it was definitely something he needed to work on. The man pulled out a yellow rose with a note attached to its stem. "I just have a rose for you. Happy Valentine's Day." He held it out for her to take.
