Jack walked through the streets of Paris. He was bored and it was starting to get dark. He had planned to go to a pub for the evening, but that had failed after having to postpone it to write a letter. He know found himself outside in the foggy weather, on his own, glancing in a full restaurant windows that marked the street. Sighing, he kicked a few stones in front of him and got out his wand. Lighting up the tip of it to see better, he held it high in the air and looked around in more detail. It was no wonder to him now why his cousin loved the area, it was so spacious and clean and well pretty. He had now started to love the city, even though he had lived in it most of his life. He sighed again as it began to rain. With a flick of his wand he conjured up a bubble around him and smirked at the small children that were running for shelter. He continued to walk, not looking where he was going and thinking about his future. He wanted to join the deatheaters, but he would need a cover job to keep the money coming in. So far, his options stood as flying for a professional team or becoming a professor. He wouldn't mind either, but he would still like a job. The ministry didn't appeal to him as much as it did to others and he sighed, thinking how ironic but safe it would be for a deatheater to work for the ministry.

Tristan wandered through an unknown street in Paris. He was in Europe for a few days and had decided to visit Paris. It was a place he had never been to before and he had been told that ti was beautiful, so coming here seemed like a sensible decision. Not knowing this place very well, Tristan jumped when a light came on from nearby him. It was a light from the end of a wand. Tristan copied the action with his own wand and swished it around, looking for the person that he thought was there. "Hello?" He asked in a questioning tone. "Anyone there?" He was sure the person would be friendly and wouldn't do any harm, but he didn't know this place, and he didn't know what the people who lived here were like, so he was on edge a bit. Especially seeing as it was beginning to get dark.

Jack startled as he heard someone. "Yeh, its me." He said, a laughing tone in his voice. He normally said this, especially to male voices for it was funny to gage their reaction. He stepped forward into his own beam of light and smiled. "Hi." He said, not seeing the guy as a threat at all. This probably wasn't the best idea, and he should be prepared but he didn't care today, he just didn't care. He had his wand in his hand and he could apparate, so he just didn't care any longer. His bubble remained in tact around him, keeping him dry from the now heavy rain. "Are you ok?" He asked, wondering why the boy was so jumpy.

Tristan chuckled at the boys reaction to what he had just said. "Oh yeah...me who?" He said in a jokey tone as the guy came into view. The guy didn't seem threatening, nor dangerous, so Tristan decided to approach him, getting a little closer and realizing that the guy had a bubble around him. That was bound to cause a few jokes. Tristan smiled at the guy. "Hey...and sorry too...pardon the terrible joke...burst your bubble...but I'm fine." Tristan shot the guy a cheeky wink. He wasn't afraid of being cheesily friendly in the first few greetings. There was no harm in a happy joker.

Jack laughed at this boys 'cheesy' joke. He found someone funny who acted like that and he enjoyed their company. Deciding straight away that they would probably end up as friends he held out his hand. Realising that he was still in his bubble, he laughed again and popped it. "Me, Jack." He said, smiling at the boy. "Don't worry, in my opinion, a cheesy joke is better than no joke at all right... especially in a tense moment." He added, realising that there had been none of the familiar formalities that Jack found hilariously stupid. To shake someone's hand was ok, and to give them a name was fine as well, but when it came to talking about the age, school, plans for the future, it got boring. But sometimes, they were needed when there was no conversation. However, Jack got the idea that with this boy, he would get on fine and there would be no need for the stupid formalities.

Tristan laughed as he shook the boys hand. "It's good to meet you Jack...the name's Tristan." He introduced himself. It had to be said, Tristan did love himself a bit too much, and introducing himself to new people was something that he loved doing. He loved that his name had a slightly enlightening twang to it. Tristan. He smiled at the guys next comment. "Ah I can see we are going to get along just fine my friend." He told him happily, patting Jack's back twice, each time with a little bit of force. Tristan wasted no time in making a better friend of himself to this guy. "So...let's cut to the chase...you hang round in a bubble, and have just bumped into a devilishly handsome looking man who has come to Paris for a bit of a holiday...and...it has rained...pathetic...so there's only one thing for it...hows abouts I get you a drink my friend?" Tristan said quite quickly, he knew he was rambling on a bit, so he thought it was best to get through it all as fast as possible. Tristan figured that by the way these two had greeted each other when they first met, this guy wasn't going to refuse a drink from him.

Jack laughed back. He shook the hand back and nodded. "There is only one thing that my friends have to watch out for though. And that is don't mess with my cousin, Amelia." He warned, his tone quiet but strong for a minute, wondering if this guy had been in Paris for so long, then he would have probably met her somehow, especially if her reputation for dating handsome men was still as high as it used to be. "OK now, i think we need to get this straight, i keep my handsome self in a bubble, to keep me dry, and to prevent riff raff such as yourself from getting too close." He laughed, joining in with the fun. "And then you bumped into me, felt bad, made a few terrible jokes and now we are going to go out for a drink." He stated, smiling at the stupidity of their friendly jokes so far. He nodded about the drink, and with a flick of his wand, conjured up a bubble for him and a bubble for Tristan. "Unless you want to share?" He joked, smiling now and laughing. He started to walk and tried to remember where the nearest pub was, muggle or magical.

(OOC: I think Tristan should mention Amelia, and then Jack could decide that he doesn't mind with his friend. What do you think??)

Okay, not quite sure what you mean...but yeah whatever. :)

Tristan wondered if the Amelia he had mentioned was the Amelia he had met in that field the other day. "Amelia huh? I think I might have...bumped into a girl with the same name the other day...do you recon it was her?" He asked with a cheeky smile on his face, before listening to what else Jack had to say. "You? Handsome? Since when?" He joked, playfully hitting him on the arm, to let him know that he was joking. "There's only room for one Ladies Man in this place..." He said with a laugh, as Jack put a bubble around him. "A drink it is then...and as for sharing...I think I can handle my own bubble." He said, still laughing slightly from earlier. The way these two had greeted each other when they first met a few minutes ago was more than abnormal. It was just plain strange.

Jack laughed. It was nice to finally have a friend as crazily mad as him, one whom he could truly be himself around. "She is very pretty, half-veela and has long wavy dark hair. Probably flirted, because thats just her." He said, wondering what sort of meeting it would have been with this carefree guy and his flirtatious cousin. "Since i was born, its part of being a half-veela." He said, smiling at the guy. It was true, that the female half-veelas were far prettier and had a special charm, but the male ones were just exceptionally handsome. He laughed again, thinking how fitting the two new friends were. Jack shrugged and with another flick of his wand, Tristan's bubble vanished. "Go on then." He said, a joking element in his voice still. They seemed to be good friends so far, a promising start to a promising friendship. He hoped.

'She's half-veela?!!!?' Tristan thought to himself as Jack described her. That explained Tristan's un-stoppable attraction to her. Things were finally starting to make sense now. Tristan smiled to himself as he had this sudden realization. "Oh Yeah...I'm pretty sure that was her..." He told Jack, laughing as he remember flirting with Amy. Tristan was shocked to hear that Jack -too, was half-veela. "Oh really? Well I'm sorry...your half-veela-ism's seemed to have failed on me." Tristan said sarcastically. He was making up words infront of Jack now, this guy had no choice, he just had to be his friend now. Tristan laughed as he felt his bubble pop. "Heyyy, you burst my bubble?!!" He joked, speaking in a pretend 5 Year-Old's voice. Tristan drew out his wand again, then poked it into Jack's bubble. Flicking his wand once to make the bubble disappear. "If I don't get a bubble, then neither do you." He said, continuing to act like a 5 Year-Old child.

Jack frowned. "You do know her? What was she like? What happened?" He asked, his tone wary and he had stopped walking. He would protect his cousin no matter what it took, and if a curse was needed, he would use it, even on a friend. He would regret it, he knew that, but in a moment of anger, Jack had no control over his emotions. "Oh well, thats good i suppose." He said, trying to bring some lightness back into his voice but it took a lot of effort. "Fine then. I just thought that you could conjure up your own one." He said, smiling now, but not with his proper smile. He flicked his wand up again as he felt a drop of rain fall on his head and conjured up the bubble again. "Unless you are incapable of performing such simple magic." He laughed, feeling better about his friend now.

Tristan wondered why Jack seemed to be getting so defensive over his cousin Amy, Tristan would never hurt her, or do anything against her will, it just wasn't him. "We flirted alright?...But she seemed fine with it...no harm done." He said with a smile, realizing that Jack seemed on edge about the whole thing. Tristan was glad when Jack changed the subject back to the bubble. He pretended to look shocked when Jack insulted his ability to do simple magic. As the rain started to get heavier, Tristan created his own bubble with a flick of his wand. "There...sorted..." He said with a laugh. "No need to diss my abilities Sir..." He said, bowing sarcastically as he continued to joke around with Jack.

Jack breathed a sigh of relief as Tristan reassured him. He still wasn't sure, but didn't want to push this guy any further at the moment, especially a new friend. "Sorry, she had a bad experience with one of my friends once, and now i can't stop myself getting protective." He said, biting his lip and feeling bad incase he had insulted Tristan in any way. He sighed again and waved the comment away to the back of his mind, knowing that it would never fully leave his mind until he knew everything. But at that moment, he wasn't sure he wanted to know everything. "Well, i wasn't sure about them. Sir." He added his voice like one that people would find in an old court. He bowed even lower than Tristan had and then stood up, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Tristan smiled as Jack apologized. "Hey there's no need to apologize mate...I understand..." He said in a friendly tone. He had never understood why men would treat girls with such rudeness, there was no need for it, so Tristan sympathized with Jack's over-protectiveness of his cousin. Tristan breathed out a breath that he didn't know he was holding as Jack changed the subject. He felt his shoulders drop as the tension was released from inside of him. He had gotten away with that one. "Well you should've been." Tristan joked. "So are we near this pub yet?" He asked, he was beginning to get thirsty with all this talking and bubble-making/popping that he was doing.

Jack frowned for a moment. There was still something unsaid with Tristan and his cousin, but he pushed the thought away, not wanting to delve further into the case and find himself losing a new friend or having an argument with his cousin, as he guessed it would turn out. Wiping his frown away quickly before it could have been noticed, he smiled. "Just around the corner. I promise." He said, trying to mentally imagine the place where they were heading.

Tristan tried to hide his lie from his face, he had gotten good at that over the years. Yeah, him and Amy had gone further than he had let on, but Jack didn't need to know that. It was private business, nothing that an over-protective cousin needed to know about. Smiling as he heard from Jack that the pub was just around the corner, Tristan spoke up, forgetting the previous conversation. "Great...I could do with a good drink..." He told him happily, scruffing up Jack's hair as he did so.

Jack sighed theatrically as his hair was ruined. It didn't bother him much, because he knew that before long it would fall back into its place. "Its just around here." He said, turning a corner to view a large magical pub that seemed to glow in the darkness. He walked into the pub and leant against the counter, smiling at a pretty barmaid and making her flush bright red. He smirked at Tristan again and ordered a firewhiskey. They girl blushed again as he winked at her and walked away to get him his drink.

Tristan smiled as he saw the large, glowing pub. Walking in, Tristan couldn't help but laugh as Jack immediately winked at the barmaid. "Fine I'll leave her to you...she's not quite my type anyway." He joked with Jack before he too ordered himself a fire-whiskey. "So..what's the plan...get ridiculously drunk...so we can really get to know each other...or just have a mature adult drink?" Tristan couldn't help but laugh after saying the word mature. He was anything but.

Jack laughed. "No she's not my type either and i have you to entertain me now." He said shrugging as she came back to give them their drinks and then lean against the counter. "Thanks." He said, addressing her now and then winking at her again. She seemed almost upset and walked away. Sighing and shrugging at Tristan, he drank a bit of his drink. "Well, im thinking that mature is something that you will find quite hard, so i think we should go with the former option." He said, laughing at the randomness of it all. He took another drink and turned back to Tristan. "Hey, im meeting up with my cousin and a friend of hers in a few days, will you come along with me?" He asked, wondering if Tristan would accept. He was interested to see how him and Amy got on, trying to work out what would happen, and it would be awkward if Amy was just sitting there. He knew that she would leave them alone and probably go off to the bar, but then he would feel awkward and try to watch her, making sure that she was safe. Yes, it would be so much better for all of them if Tristan came along.

Tristan laughed. "Okay sorted then...lets get drunk..." He said happily as he took his fire-whiskey and gulped down most it, leaving just a few sips more. "That's true...Me? Mature? Never?" He joked with his new friend before smiling at his kind invitation. Any chance of seeing Amy again would please Tristan. But he would be sure not to say anything to Jack's face, he didn't want to argue with him already...he had only known him 5 Minutes. Tristan wondered how far Amy would go infront of her cousin, he didn't mind whatever, as long as she was the one making the decisions. But Tristan would be shocked if she held back, she just didn't seem the type to get embarrassed or nervous because of certain presence. Not that Tristan knew Amy well at all. Realizing that he had been caught up in thoughts of his time with Amy, Tristan snapped out of his trance, before replying to Jack's offer. "Yeah sure, that sounds great to me...it'll be good to see Amy again..." He trailed off, hoping he hadn't made his attraction to her too obvious to Jack.

Jack followed Tristan's lead and gulped down the rest of his fire-whiskey. He noticed the waitress watching them again and signalled her over, smiling his charming smile at her as she came. He asked for more refills and pressed a few coins into her hand to apologise for what he had said and she had obviously heard earlier. Her noticed her smiling at him again and inwardly groaned. He didn't want to upset her any more, but didn't want her hanging around them. Realising that he had made a big mistake, he waited for her to bring the drinks back and then purposefully glanced at Tristan, almost forcing her to leave. She did and he breathed a sigh of relief, laughing at his friend slightly. He noticed that Tristan had been in a trance, and wondered if it was related to when he had mentioned Amy. But Tristan had told him that nothing really had happened, so he would have to wait until going to the pub to find out. He knew that Amy wouldn't change her character at all for him, but he also knew that if there was something suspicious going on, she would cover it up for Tristan's sake, not her own. "Im glad that her company has had a good effect on you." He replied, raising an eyebrow questioningly at him. Laughing again, he broke the awkward silence by taking a few more gulps of his drink. "By the way, drinks are on me. So don't worry." He added, not wanting one of them to get drunk and the other not enjoying himself.

Tristan smiled as he watch Jack make-up with the barmaid for embarrassing her earlier. The last thing they needed was an upset barmaid if they wanted to get drunk, so it was just as well that they had made up. Tristan decided to joke with Jack as the barmaid lingered around them. As Jack glanced at him, Tristan raised his eyebrow, as if to flirt, before winking at Jack. Of course, Tristan was certainly not gay, but if it was going to help shove the barmaid away for a while, then Tristan was willing to fool around a bit. Laughing as she disappeared, Tristan was glad to hear that the drinks were on Jack. "Hey any pretty girl is gonna have a good effect on me..." Tristan joked. "And as for these drinks...thanks...I owe ya one..." He told his new good friend, it was only fair, if Jack was going to be paying all night long, that Tristan payed another time. Tristan took his glass and took a small sip, he still had the strong, choking taste of the last glass, he couldn't down too many all at once...not just yet anyway.

Jack choked on his drink laughing as Tristan started to flirt with Jack. Managing to stop coughing, he returned the raised eyebrow and then just burst out laughing, the effects of the drink starting to take place with minimal effect. "Ok, don't play gay. Especially if you and Amy are getting together, i won't allow that. And it seems that i have no problem dealing with girls on my own, so unless you are gay - and if you are, please get out. But if not, please just be normal." He laughed, his tone joking. He laughed and took another sip of his drink. He watched as Tristan did the same and laughed. "If you were planning to get drunk doing that, then it will take a long time." He laughed, still watching Tristan sip his drink. He was slightly perturbed by the last statement about 'any pretty girl'. People not viewing Amy in the way that she deserved annoyed Jack as much as people mis treating her. Well, almost...

Tristan wondered about Jack's views on gay people. Tristan personally had no problem with gay people himself, and he could never understand why people would have a problem with them. But Tristan was 100% straight, you only had to see him with a girl to know that much. "Alright normal it is..." Tristan said, deciding to not start that deep a conversation just yet. As Jack teased at his lack of drinking, Tristan decided to prove himself. He was no light-weight. "Okay then.....in that case.....lets not hang about." Tristan joked before downing his current drink. "That better?" He questioned, as the sharp taste of the fire-whiskey trickled down his throat. It wasn't for the newer drinkers. But Tristan was no newer drinker, and Jack seemed to be coping okay, so he guessed that he was experienced with the strong tastes of alcohol too.

Jack laughed. He didn't really have a problem with gay people, he wasn't one himself and would feel slightly awkward getting drunk with one, but still, he didn't really have a problem with them. He knew that some people did, but he didn't mind them much. However, it was Amy who was on his mind at the moment, and for her sake, she was pleased that Tristan wasn't gay. Smirking as he nodded, he watched Tristan prove himself by downing his drink. While Tristan was drinking, he signalled over the closest waitress, (not the one he had been flirting with though) and whispered something in her ear. She nodded and returned with a few more firewhiskeys, placing 2 in front of the boys. Promising to refill them whenever needed, she shook her head and refused to expect the money Jack tried to give her. As she walked away to serve another table, Jack smirked at Tristan again and gulped down half of his next drink, not noticing the sharp kick that it left as it went down his throat. He was starting to feel the effects now, more than before and laughed randomly at Tristan, because he felt like it.
