A New Chapter

Maria thought of something that she always wanted to ask Max. '. I was wonderig, that day when you saw with Hamza that night. How did you feel?'
 
"Well honestly I can't say I liked the guy at first." He then said"But he seems to be okay now."
 
' I don't blame you, it was a bad experience.' Maria replied. Maria began to play with one of the buttons on her cardigan. There was noone else out here except them which gave them all the privacy in the world.
 
Max looked at her and decided to ask"So what do you're parents do? I know it is a little random but I might as well get to know my girlfriend better." He said laughing. But Max was honest he really wanted to know more about her after all she was someone he cared about deeply.
 
Maria looked up and replied ' They re both doctors and run their own clinic. It really keeps them busy.' When Maria finished she looked don, these days they had no time to even contact her. She had been close withthem but now it felt like they had forgotten her
 
Max looked at her and realized something was wrong."Whats wrong? I didn't mean anything bad by asking. why don't you say whats wrong." He then put his arm around her to comfort her since he knew something was wrong.
 
' It just that my parents and I have always beenclose but since their clinic has taken off they hardly ever write to me or come visit. My brother writes to me saying that mom and dad at busy so I'm writing to you and I know that at times he writes the letter but signs it mom and dad. I don't mean to sound childish....' Maria finished. Jason was the ony one who was being a parents to her. Her parents didn't even stop to realize how it was effecting Maria.
 
Max looked at her"I am sorry I had no idea." He felt really bad for Maria he knew what it was like to not have his parents around so when she said she didn't mean to sound childish it made him feel bad."I know what its like to not have you're parents around to be there for you and it truly makes me feel bad to know that you are going through this pain."
 
' Thanks.' Maria said and gave him a weak smile. Her brother was the only one who cared how she was doing at Hogwarts. ' Im just surprised that they just forgot about me. I was always the baby of the family and I just to get annoyed by that and now I miss it.' Maria concluded
 
Max looked at her and smiled a little."Well you know ill be here for you at least." He then hugged her hoping it would comfort her.
 
Maria hugged him back. ' I know you will.' Maria replied in a quiet voice. Part of her wished that her parents weren't as successful but if they weren't she would have been able to have the childhood she had. ' I think my brother is planning on visiting me though.' Maria stated
 
Max looked at her and said"Well there is something to look forward too." He smiled then said"So when is he supposed to visit you?"
 
' He said sometime next week but no promises.' Maria replied. Jason's job had just started and he didn't want to ask for days off right away and Maria could understand that. ' Is anyone coming to visit you?' Maria asked
 
Max looked down when she asked if anyone was coming to visit him"Um no..."He wasn't sure what else to say with no family and no idea if anyone else was close to him he had no idea if someone might visit him.
 
When Maria saw his reaction she felt bad for asking. ' Oh Max Im sorry I didn't mean it....' Maria said.
 
Max looked at her and said"No I am sorry." He then got up and started throwing rocks over then cliff edge. After a few minutes Max broke down and started crying. He was in so much pain because of being alone."Why am I all alone!" Max screamed through the crying, then put his face back onto the ground.
 
Maria got up and quickly made her way to him. She hugged him an tried to comfort him. ' Max your not alone I'm here for you and I always will be.' Mariasaid in a gentle voice
 
Max had his head still on the ground when Maria said she would be there for him always."How can you be so sure?" Max said while tears still came down his cheeks.
 
' No matter where we are and what we are you can always count o meax that's a promise.' Maria said. She always kept her friends close and never gave up onthem. Max was hurting and she was not going to give him false hope
 
Max looked down while he listened and said"Thank you that means a lot to me..." He then looked out to the ocean and wondered if he would ever be able to over come the pain he was feeling.
 
As Max looked out to the ocean Maria stood a two feet behind him and said ' I know there s alot o pain inside you and you can't get rid of it but you can exchange it for happiness.' Maria felt like he wanted to be alone so he quietly turned around and began to walk back.
 
Max got up and walked over to Maria and said" I am sorry I should have realized I have you now and it makes me happy." He looked at her and hoped she wouldn't leave him he was just worried about losing more people he cared about especially her.
 
' I thought maybe you wanted to be alone to get your thoughts straight. It's okay i don't mind.' Maria said with a little smile. ' I ll see you later.' Mariasaid an began to walk away once again

Max walked over and said"will you at least meet me at the Great Lawn tomorrow? for a picnic."
