A meeting with a future

Meera nodded as Karl told her that he was okay with bread. She took the hand he offered her and got up. She dusted off the sand from her outfit and smiled as Karl agreed with the idea of dining with them. It would be a good trial run to test Alice's reaction to their new formed friendship. As they walked to the castle, Meera continued making conversation with Karl "You do eat cake for your birthday, right? When is that?" These were small details but Meera knew there were thousands of them and she needed to know each of them so as to know Karl better. They were coming closer to the castle and Meera tried to act normal and calm. If things worked out then people would be seeing her around the castle with Karl and she had to make sure she was comfortable when that happened. "I'm starving. I hope they have some vegetarian pasta, haven't eaten that in a while. Oh, by the way. I am vegetarian" she said with a grin. All this information was going to take a while to travel to the receiver end and digest, for both of them.
