A Gift of a Different Kind

Alexis pursed her lips a Izaak's question. It was clear what her love wanted and she knew he would be more then extatic with either, as would she. "A little boy. Just like his daddy." She flashed her love a soft smile as she squeezed his hand. She couldn't help but imagine having a little red headed, blue eyed boy with an affinity for the surf. She imagined their little boy riding a surf board before he could even walk, between herself and Izaak, she knew that this little child would be exposed to the salty, ocean that their whole family adored. "Do I even have to ask if you'd prefer a girl to a boy?" she asked playfully, touching her finger to his cheek. As the young couple left the corridor, she couldn't help but want to hug every person that she passed on her way out because she was to be a mummy like she had not planned for but so wanted now.

Knowing that her family would be judgemental of her, Alexis wanted to tell only Leah and little Jay that afterall he would have a cousin like he had asked her about hen they had told their family about the engagement. But she would do it, she would tell them, it would just take some bravery that she wasn't too sure that she had but Izaak would help her find her words when her parents came over, there was simply no way that she was going to tell such life altering news through the mail or the phone to the people she would depend on most for advice during this.
