A First Time Indeed

It was the time of the year when the Great Hall was adorned with decorations. Instead of Christmas carols,melodies of love,both from Wizarding and Muggle songs, being played. Students came in geoups and in pairs and they were happily chatting away. For the second year Ravenclaw,she was still outside,shuffling her feet as she waited for someone. She was happy yet anxious about this evening. This was her second year enjoying Valentine's Dance. She thought she would enjoy it just like last year with a lot of friends. She thought this year would not be any different. She was wrong. For the first time,this year it would be different.

Alexis was asked out to the dance by no other than Jackson Cade. A third year fellow Raven whom she met during her first Halloween dance. Blame herself for send him a pink rose. Nothing was wrong with that though. She found him funny and kind,remembering the time he laughed at her mistake last year.

[Jackson Cade]

Jackson was a little nervous because it was the first time he was attending a ball with a date. Once Jackson was ready in his suit he made his way down to the common room to meet Alexis. Surprisingly she was there first so he smiled at her as he made his way over to her. "You look amazing," Jackson smiled nervously at the girl. "Shall we make our way down?" He asked.

Alexis had just stood by the fireplace,not notcing Jackson came down until she heard his voice.Turning around,she gave a friendly yet shy smile."Thank you.You look great as well.",returning the compliment.Asked if they should go down to the dance,she nodded as she fell in step beside the third year.

Jackson beamed at his date as she returned his compliment and he offered out his arm. "Lets go," He smiled and led her out of the common room and down to the Great hall where they made their way inside for the dance. The hall was beautifully decorated as usual and Jackson was excited for a fun night. "Do you want to dance?"

Alexis smiled as she took the arm offered by Jackson. They had reached the hall and once again amazed at how it was magnificently transformed. She looked around to see if she had any friends joining just like they did last year. Jackson asked her to a dance to which she complied. They made their way to the floor, joining other students already swaying to the music.

[Heather Danville]

There seemed to be a never ending torrent of school organised events, and the Valentines Dance was one of many. Heather and Gabriella got ready together as they usually did and walked into the Great Hall together. It was decorated garishly and Heather's expression instantly turned into a grimace that didn't seem like it would budge all night. She grabbed a drink and surveyed the room for someone she knew or for some interesting situation. Happily, she found both. Jackson Cade, the boy that for some reason she was always drawn to even though he showed every sign of disliking her. He was with a girl, however, the same one he was with at Halloween like a year ago and they looked far too content on the dancefloor together. She told Gabriella that she would be back in a minute and she set off in their direction. "Mind if I cut in?" she drawled as she reached the couple.
