A first encounter with a creature.

" Well if you want to see the pond, you are going to have to climb on, otherwise have fun walking for a long time." Spike said as he just lay there patiently, he liked laying down it made him feel somewhat normal, but nothing would ever make him feel normal fully.

She smiled at him and nodded. "Okay, that makes sense." She muttered. She had only ridden twice, once western saddle, and once bare back. But, she had never ridden a centaur; it didn't seem like it would be normal. She mounted him and then said. "What do i hold on to?"

" Just hold onto my mane and it will all be ok." Spike said knowing it would hurt a little bit if she tugged to hard but it was something he would have to deal with. He stood up and slowly cantered backwards so he could get a run up for the stream.

She held on, being as gentle as she possibly could. It was hard to grip anything too hard with one of her hands; since she had hurt it tripping on her way out. It wasn't broken but it still hurt. "Okay..." She said quietly, a bit nervous.

Spike ran as fast as he could towards the stream jumping out as far as he could clearing the gap with ease. He quickly looked behind him to make sure she was still on, seeing she was her turned to her. " Well that wasn't to bad was it?" He said with a smile. " The cave's just up here, the pond is inside."

She cringed as he made his jump, for a second she thought she was going to fall. They landed almost silently, and she looked when she heard his voice. She couldn't wait to get inside. "Oh i bet my ukulele would sound great in a cave." She said, wishing she had brought it with her. She looked at him. "Want me to slide off now?" She asked, unsure.

" Might as well take you all the way, it doesn't feel any different to me." Spike said as he walked up to the enterence of the cave, to where there was a fluorescent glowing pond in the middle. " Here we are."

She smiled and nodded, staying for the ride. When he took her there she slid gracefully and gently of his back. The pond was beautiful, and she looked at it. Her aqua eyes shimmered as her reflection moved with the water. it was one of the most enchanting things she had ever seen. She turned and looked at Spike. "It's beautiful..." She glanced back at it, then to him again. "How did you get those scars, if i can ask?"

" Muggle lumberjacks attacked me seeing as I was a freak of nature and they wanted me to be a trophy for the three of them. I had to make a pain full decision and I attacked back, killing the three of them." Spike said looking down at the ground, every time he talked about it a tear would always well up in his eyes.

She heard the story, and he looked down. He didn't need to; she knew what he was feeling. Her brother... should she tell him? Could she trust him; or would he tell the forest? She told him instead, "i know what you feel. But don't be guilty, people like them deserve it." She clenched her small fist till the knuckles were white. The memories made her angry; how people could attack such a majestic creature as Spike, made her angry. She herself, made herself angry. Everything welled up into one big fireball begging to overflow into tears.

" Just don't you worry yourself over it, I saved the wizarding community from being discovered, but the Muggles and for that I would give up my life for." Spike said bowing down to look her straight in the eyes. " Everything worked out, it was just I didn't want to harm a human and I had to."

She nodded, gritting her teeth. He didn't know what had really made her upset about it. She was upset because memories of long ago, and what had happened just a few days ago, had flooded her head. "Yes, you are a very noble centaur," She said with a slight smile on her face.

Spike knew he wasn't noble, well not at least yet, he had to be fifty to be able to be a elder in the tribe and then he would be highly respected. He then looked at the girl, and decided it was time to change the subject to something a little lighter, that would stop her from looking so upset. " So how come you never learned to swim?" He asked.

She frowned a bit when the silence came. She then smiled when he asked why she didn't swim; thinking about her father made her sad, but knowing she could remember bits and pieces made her as happy as anyone in the world could be. "He was going to teach me when i turned seven; but he died." She looked around, anywhere but at him.

Spike didn't know quite who she was talking about but he guessed it was her father so he didn't say anything he just looked down at his hooves. " Im sorry, I didn't foresee that." He said feeling stupid for asking now, she would more then likely hate him for bringing up something which involved the death of her father. He hated even thinking about death.

"It is okay. Not many people know about my father. He died when i was little, and i mean, I don't talk about it much." She looked up at him and smiled. She didn't like talking about him, that was probably why she didn't. She felt sad every time she did.

Spike felt extremely bad about bringing it up and still looked down at the ground, he couldn't look at her, knowing she had been through so much pain and loss. " I honestly don't know what to say, other then I'm extremely sorry to hear that." He said as he bent down and put his arms around her, giving her a tight squeeze.

She dipped her head down to look at his face. "Hey, it's okay. I came out fine... i mean, i'm not in a loony bin right?" She grinned at him; this was why she didn't talk about her father, so many people felt pity for her when she did. She didn't want that pity, she wanted to be treated like a normal person. He gave her a tight squeeze, a hug. She smiled slightly; hugs were something very few people gave Angela, Her own cousin even barely held her. "Thank you." Was all she said.
