The forbidden forest was the perfect place to be on such a clear cool night like this. The tress were not too close, but not too spread out. If only Angela had a camera. She had heard many things about the creatures in the forest, maybe she could sketch one. If one would allow. She smiled and walked a bit deeper into the forest. Something cracked and she jumped.

"H-hello?" She called out. Maybe it was nothing...

Spike had been out checking the perimeter of the forest like he was ordered by Vico, the leader of his Tribe. He was told that there would be a few students coming into the forest tonight, some of whom attacked the wild life, others just sat around and enjoyed the tranquility, some used the forest as an escape to go on there animal side, either way he had to find out what was going on. He could see there was someone walking through the forest, they where small, smaller then anyone he had seen before, maybe she was a first year, but hardly any of them ever came into the forest.

" Hello young girl. Are you lost?" He asked as he stepped out into the open so she could see him, she had called out because he had snapped a tree branch under his weight.

Angela turned toward the source of the sound. It was a creature just what she was looking for. She tried not to be too excited as she let her eyes roam over the majestic creature. He was stunning; unlike horses back home. And not as terrifying as the men. She realized she had been gaping; not talking, so she spoke up.

"Oh no. I'm just in search of... i wanted to sketch some creatures..." She said, her voice meek; instead of loud.

Spike smiled it was the first time someone had wanted to draw one of the creatures out of the forest, he was willing to be drawn, he didn't care as long as nothing happened to him for allowing it. " Yeah sure, You can sketch me if you would like." He said smiling. " Im Spike, by the way. Who may you be?"

She smiled really widely and said quietly. "Thank you, thank you!" She then introduced herself. "i'm Angela, i'm a first year Ravenclaw!" She looked around and flipped open her sketch book. She remembered how when she started off she wasn't very good, and she still wasn't; but she had gotten better. She smiled and said, "just strike a pose."

Spike jumped up raising his front hooves, he had been able to do that for a very long time, with great ease, he didn't need any help to be able to do it, but sometimes he was fall down.
" Nice to meet you Angela, you can tell your a Ravenclaw, you seem as though you have a really nice personality." His back hooves began to sink into the ground, which was good it would give him extra support to stay up longer.

She smiled at his pose, and immediately put her hands to fast work, mostly keeping her eyes on him. He was so majestic; though she had already thought that. She smiled at him.

"Thanks. So, can i bother you with a typical question? What's it like? Being a centaur i mean."

" Well It is normal to me, seeing I have been a Centaur my whole life, I was born to protect the forest here, and I will guard it with my life. It can often be hard I suppose. See when a Centaur has young they abandon it at first and if it is strong enough to make it back to the tribe it is allowed to be one of us, it took me three years to find my way home." Spike said feeling down at how a parent could do something like that to him. " It is kind of wierd to think about as well, seeing as my mother was a horse that lives with my tribe and my father was a man who came across a horse."

Angela nodded, ,listening intently. If there was one thing Angela was good at, it was listening. The story of how they abandon their young made her sad. It made her think of her father, and how, for the longest time, she believed her father had abandoned her when he died. She tilted her head at the last pert, making a mental note to ask some older student how that worked.

"Wow... that's... amazing." She said, awe in her voice. "I mean, sad, but still amazing."

"But that is just a way of life, things happen out here that no one else have control over, we just have to deal with it and move on." He said still in position, on his back legs, he didn't know when he was meant to drop down or even if he could, he might get in trouble if he does so. Spike wanted her picture to be perfect, nothing more and nothing less.

She nodded. "I suppose so. You know if you get tired you can drop down and i can stop for a bit." She said. She knew how hard it was to stay in a pose like that; standing. Though it must be twice as hard for him, since he was used to being on four legs; not two.

" Nah it is ok, I can stand like this all day." Spike said not moving his masculine body at all. If he moved he could send her picture off a tiny little bit and it would ruin it completely. " So how long have you been able to draw for?"

She shrugged. "Okay, but if you get uncomfortable, just let me know." She said with a slight smile. She went a bit over board on his hair, making it longer then what it actually was. He asked about her drawing skills and she answered, "Well i've been doing it off and on for quiet a while now. I've never been really good; most of my drawings look like cartoons." She giggles.

" Everyone starts off somewhere or another." Spike said with a smile, he could draw, but he could only do it in the ground, which was really hard for him seeing as he had to bed right over to be able to do it. " Just try not to make me look to silly." He said smiling at her.

She smiled really widely. "So no bows... or butterflies." She giggled. He was very nice for a creature. she had expected them to be more resistant then what he was. "Can I ask your age?" She asked kindly. Some people didn't like to talk about their age.

" I turned twenty three, four moons ago." Spike said as he still held himself perfectly still, other then his mouth. " What about you how old are you, if you don't mind me asking?" He asked hoping she wouldn't get offended by that.

She smiled, "really, i didn't think that you were that old." He asked her age and then said she only had to answer if she wanted to. "oh, I'm only 11, and i don't mind. It's the older people that are offensive." She giggled.

" Eleven, well you look much older, I would have passed you as a fourteen year old. But that's just me." Spike said smiling at the girl as he still held his pose, he was beginning to wonder if he would have to stand like it for ever, hopefully not, seeing as it did kind of hurt his back.

"Well thank you i guess." She giggled; she already knew she looked older. "just a few more touches. If you want you can come down now. i got what i need." She grinned at the centaur, and then at her picture, which looked more animated then he was. "Thanks, Spike." she smiled, her eyes lingering on his sides.

Spike put his feet down on the ground and walked around to see the drawing she had made of him. " Woah that looks good." He said staring at the picture, if only there was a way he could get a copy of it, while she had a copy of it as well. " Your very talented."

She blushed at the complement. She hadn't thought the drawing was all that good. "Thank you very much. You can have it if you'd like." She smiled, it was of him after all.

" No you keep it, I see enough of me everyday." he said with a smile. He didn't want to take such a good drawing off of her, especially now that he knew she was only eleven years old, it was even more impressive then what it would have been before. " So, you would probably want to see the pond, that is just over that stream there in that cave." He said pointing across the stream.

"There's a pond in the 'Forbidden Forest'." She said the forbidden forest like it was a horror movie sight; though it wasn't all that spooky at the moment; not with a strong creature like Spike there. "I would love to see it. Do you know how deep it is?" She asked sheepishly; she didn't know how to swim after-all.

" It comes up to my neck, it's not for swimming in, it is a Centaur sacred area, even though humans do swim in there. If you would like to swim in there it is ok, our people have gotten used to it." Spike said with a smile as he laid down on the ground, so she could hop on, it would take him to jump across the stream to get there, or get swept away by the gushing water.

"Well that's... that's just it. I can't swim. i never learned." He got down in the grass. She gave him a confused look, tilting her head to the side. Some black tresses fell off her shoulder, blowing gently in the breeze. "Why'd ya lay down?" She asked stupidly.
