Having received a flower earlier, even if it was only a yellow one, had changed the Head Girl's mood about the day. Taking one last look at the mirror, she'd taped the rose across the top, Alana headed for the dance, pulling a dress she didn't wear often from her closet. It was a dance for couples mostly, or it felt that way, at least, so the Head Girl felt awkward as she walked in deeper, the click of her heels drowned out by the music. Alana spotted Kayleigh but she was with Desislav, so she didn't even bother to go over. She eventually ended up at a table, drink and snack in hand, tapping her foot to the beat and hoping she didn't look as sad as some of the other lonely hearts. She knew she shouldn't be. She was technically not single, but she sure didn't feel like she was married yet. She didn't wear her ring often and spoke of her husband even less often than that. Life was weird, she'd come to realize.
