Maia was angry with herself, as she trudged up the steps to her apartment. she hadn't written to Danielle in months-she'd kind of taken her under her wing, and then to simply forget about her because other things were going on?! It was inescusable, so she was going to write to her right now, really she should have been learning her lines for an audition she was going to, but this came first-people before work.

She softly closed the door behind her. knowing that one of her neighbours was sick, and she didn't want to disturb her. She looked around her clear, open-plan apartment, kitchen and dining room joint, three bedrooms, though she used one of them as an office, and the sitting-room, cozy and warm. She decided she would write in comfort, so she got herself some cookies and settled on the couch.

It was only then that she remembered her quill, and parchment and with a quick summoning charm they were in her hands-as tyhe owner of scrivenchafts-she had plenty of them lying aroun. Pulling the coffee table towards her, she began to write...

Dear Danielle,

I'm so sorry I haven't written, things have gotten complicated here, I've started going to auditions again, and I'm short on staff, so I haven't had much time-still that's no excuse-and I'm sorry.

How's second year treating you? Are you enjoying it? How's that boyfriend of yours-Ryan wasn't it? Are you getting along with his family? have you many friends? As you can see I am full of questions.

I've heard that hogwarts is recruiting teachers, so you might see some new faces next year, then again, seeing as they have different teachers for each year now-maybe you won't

I want to hear ALL your news-don't leave anything out!!

Your friend,

Maia

Danielle ran up the stairs to the owlery to see her two owls, Glee, an earless owl, and Baconstrips, a Barn Owl. (Danielle Normally, has odd names for animals, she once had a dog she named 'Meow'.) When she got there, she noticed that Glee, was sleeping, and Baconstrips, was sitting there, nipping at some nuts. She put some water, and treats in their bowls, and noticed she had a letter. See who it was from, she grinned and read it. She quickly wrote a reply.

Dear Maia,

I'm so happy you wrote out to me! And don't be sorry - I understand, if you have work you have work, there is nothing wrong with that! Don't be too hard on yourself, okay?

My 2nd Year, is awesome! I mean I was sick with vanishing sickness for awhile - but I'm all better, now. But besides, that, I am mostly enjoying it. Yes, Ryan - I have never loved anybody more than, me to him. And me and his family, we get along amazingly, one of my person best friends, is his sister. I do have many friends, I have At least, 6, which is more than in my home town of San Diego - 0. I'm glad you have many questions, because now, its MY turn!

How is the shop? Lots of sales? Are you enjoying your job? Do you have a boyfriend? Or is it still just a flirt? Do you have any roles in a play/movie or something? Just overall, how is life? And always remember - of you need anyhelp at the shop, call me up!

Now, you better not leave anything out on me! I'm glad I got to write to you.

Your Super-Duper-Awesome-Happy-Crazy-Fun Friend,
Danielle!

P.S I'm happy I got to draw these again

She tied the letter around Baconstrips legs, put some treats in the letter, so when Maia opened it Baconstrips, could get some food from his trip. She sent him, off, and awaited a response.

OOCOut of Character:
Vanishing Sickness!

Maia came in, quietly-it was quite late. She'd lost track of time at rehersal-the play was "Wicked" the very play she'd become famous for in England-and once more-she played the part of "Elphaba." She had been practicing the song "Loathing" with the actress who played "Glinda/Galinda" she was a naive girl, and a bit of a plastic, but otherwise fine. She noticed an owl on her windowsill, and opening it to let him in, she took the letter off his leg-gave him some nuts, and read her letter, smiling frequently at Danielle's enthusiasm.

When she finished reading, she took out her quill, sat at her desk and wrote.

Dear Danielle,

I won't, I love the shop, but sometimes it's a bit hard to keep up, with the stocks that come piling in, but I'm managing.

Vanishing sickness? Isn't that the disease where parts of your body disappear? It gives me the shivers just to think about it, imagine try8ing to walk with no toes, or talk with no lips! What parts of you disappeared? I'm glad things are going well with Ryan-he sounded like a good guy-strange that he's in Slytherin, but I had friends from Slytherin, so really I'm just being a bit prejudiced, a failing I'm trying to address.

Oh, i was afraid of this, but luckily I've been preparing for the Spanish incuisition, ever since I wrote to you. Don't worry-I'm only joking, I'm happy to answer your questions. The shops doing okay, there arent't too many sales at the moment, because all the students are in school, so I'm just stocking up for next term, especially with lots of First Years coming in-I'll have a lot to do.

I haven't got a boyfriend, it's a bit complicated in that department right now. My Hogwarts Sweetheart is in town, and we broke up when he was leaving school-I was in sixth year, we got back togetherabout a year ago, but some things happened that meant I left England, so I'm not sure what to do at the moment.

Yes, I have got a part in a play-Elphaba-I played her in England and it was quite a hit, so I'm looking forward to it-I haven't told anyone I got the part yet-so this will be our little secret okay?
In general-life is good, I'm trying to find a room-mate at the moment, as I have an extra bedroom in my apartment.
I'll remember that offer about the shop-you'll live to regret it, and if you need a job, just give me a call.

Your friend,

Maia

P.S. I don't think I've left anything out

Danielle ran up the stairs after dinner, to check if she had any mail. And when she got there, Sure enough, she had mail, from obviously Maia. She quickly wrote down her letter.

Dear Maia,

Yea...thats the one. Its a really bad illness! I mostly lost, my legs, I lost some of my stomach, but other than that, I didn't lose anything else. It was terrible! But luckily I'm all better now! Thanks for caring! Yea, Ryan is really awesome! And I used to be prejudiced, but I've got 2 friends in Slytherin, and a obviously my boyfriend!

Thats good, and I promise to get something from the shop, I could use a new Quill! Maybe I could stay at your apartment, in the break we have? I'd be very happy. But I understand if you wouldn't like too. I'm sure, you'll get lots more sales, in the future - just give it some time!

Hmm, Well hopefully, everything works out between you two, because, you deserve a boyfriend, I know they are awesome to have! Every time he is around me I am just happy and smiling, I just love him so much!

I promise not to tell - as Long as I get to see the play! I would be more than happy to see it! I love plays, and I would to see a play with one of my best friends in the world! Can you get me some tickets? And if you ever need a shop assistant I would be more than help you out!

Your coolio-awesome friend,
Danielle!

She walked over to Glee, and patted its head. "Hey...If you can send this letter, I'll give you a feeder mice alright?" The owl chirped, and Danielle laughed. She tied the letter to the owl's leg, and sent it off.

Maia was sitting at home, on one of her rare days off. She gone shopping earlier and now she was knackered. A soft tap on the window alerted her to the presence of an owl, and she opened the catch to let him in. He nipped her fingers affectionately as she opened the letter. When she finished, she put it down and began to write.

Dear Danielle,

"Ohhh, that sounds painful. How long were you out of school for? Ryan must have been pining for you! Yes, I've learned over the years to be less judgemental, but I slip up every now and again. Sorry.

Of course you can stay with me! I've got a spare bedroom, and an office that can be converted into a bedroom, so there's plenty of room! It'd be good to have someone else around. I've a rather big flat for one person. Hopefully you can come during your holidays. Then I could take you to see the play-cast members are given free tickets for friends-though it's not out for a few months now, so you'll have to wait.

Yes, having a boyfriend is good, Taylor was my first real boyfriend. We were together for three years or so. I hope things work out for you and Ryan, from what you say-you two seem to fit each other perfectly!

Good, because I had some assistants, but most of them have grown up, gotten married etc. So, they want to get a more permanent job, so I'll probably be calling on you for help next term, when things get busy again.

If you can come to the play, I'll bring you backstage to meet the other actors-they're pretty okay, though some of them are completely melodramatic-especially the younger girls. Lots of them have big dreams about Broadway and the West End, but we're a long way from there yet.

Your friend,

Maia

Danielle smiled when Glee came back, most likely giddy for a feeder mouse. It flew right to her arm. She took a feeder mouse and put it in the bowl. Her owl quickly flew off. She read the letter and quickly wrote her response.

Dear Maia,

Yes, it was terrible. Almost the whole first part of my second year, so 3-5 months I would say. Ohh he was, every day he would go by my bedside, or try to, its very contagious, so unless if I took my potion that day, he couldn't be near me. Oh, its fine. I used to be like that, but with 4 Slytherin friends, and a Slytherin boyfriend, its not that hard to get over it.

Thanks so much! I wouldn't want to be a bother to you, so the spare bedroom souds good..I wouldn't want to take away your office space. And if you want, I can sleep on the sofa - I don't mind. I would love to see the play!

That would be great. I really wanted to have an early job, before like you said, I get a more permanent job, but this will obviously suffice for now. Thank you.

That would be actually really funny to see, girls like that are very easy to laugh at. But I'll keep my giggles in if I can, but no promises.

Your homie-girl friend,
Danielle!
