Corey was anxious to find out the results of her quidditch tryout. She had just come off the field, she was sure she did really good but she was afraid that wouldn't be good enough. Then there was the fact she couldn't here well, but it was weird the higher up she went the better her hearing got. When she was up flying in the pitch she could almost here what everyone in the air was saying, it may help that everyone was yelling. But she knew if she was picked for the team everything would work out.

Corey walked farther and farther from the pitch till she came the lake. It was a beautiful day and the water was very clean. She pulled off her shoes and socks, and pulled up her jeans, setting her feet into the water she felt soothed from her anxiety. It felt good to feel the cool water on her legs and she smiled when she saw a small fish examine her foot. She loved animals and it made her giggle when it nibbled at her toe.

Cosette had kind of let the first two school years fly by without making too many friends. She really wanted to get the hang of a magic school, and she was also a bit embarassed by her french. She had gotten the hang of the classes, and this year she wanted to be sure to make plenty of friends.

She found herself wandering, and she ended up by the lake. She had her hair down just loose by her shoulders, and she noticed a girl about her age with her feet dangling in the water. Cosette smiled and sped up her own pace and kneeled next to the girl, looking at her own reflection in the water. "We need water to live, but it can kill us so fast." She announced, as she shifted her gaze to the fish nibbling at the girls' foot.

Corey was so absorbed in the fish, she didn't notice it when a girl walked up. Corey heard what she said thankfully, she hadn't been facing her so she couldn't read her lips but she did make out what she said. Turning so she could see the girl she smiled, "It is dangerous if you don't know what your doing. Especially if there's a current." Corey thought of her favorite place a small creek down by the orphan edge. She loved doing just what she was know sticking her feet in the water and feeling the water flow. It was really calming. "I'm Corey." She said to the girl, she wondered if she would have to tell her she was deaf. She didn't know and Corey hated telling people to speak slower or speak up. She hated that part of herself and that's why she hated telling people.

Corey knows English too, just so ya know :)

Cosette lifted her head up, and turned to face Corey. She sat cross legged and took off her shoes one by one, then both of her socks. She put her feet in the water and the surface rippled, startling the fish. "Lakes don't have currents. I don't think we have to worry here." She said with a huge grin on her face.

She had a hairtie around her wrist, and tied her hair back. There was a slight breeze that was causing her hair to fly everywhere, and she hated it getting in her face. She wondered if Corey spoke english, but really wanted to keep up with her french. Her family spoke some French at home, but she knew that her real practise was at school in France.

Cosette kept her feet in the water, and lay back to look up at the clouds. She loved to look at the clouds, she always saw things in the sky that nobody else saw.

Corey watched as the girl took her shoes and socks off. She didn't mind that she hadn't told her name yet, maybe she was shy. "Yeah but who knows what kinds of creatures are lurking about in there." She smiled, she had heard several people talking about seeing things in the lake. It didn't bother Corey she just wouldn't want to go swimming up. When the girl leaned back Corey did too, wondering what she was looking at. She didn't see anything crazy but there were a lot of clouds. Corey had never really took the time to just lay down and watch the sky, she was too busy flying in it. She pulled her normal braid to the side so it didn't hurt her head and looked up squinting through the sun. She thought she saw a shape in the cloud it looked like a heart. She squinted again and smiled pointing towards the sky, "Do you see that, it looks like a heart." She smiled glad that she had spotted something interesting.

She could have sworn she saw a cloud in the shape of Africa, but it quickly dispersed to form other clouds. The bright sun warmed her olive skin, and she closed her eyes momentarily. She could feel the grass tingling her scalp, and her hair was in the ponytail at the side. Corey pointed out a heart-shaped cloud, and Cosette turned her head in that direction. "That's really cool. I've never seen one so, hearty." She said, outlining the heart with her hazel eyes. A small black and yellow bumble bee jolted by her eyes, and she giggled. Bugs fascinated her, because they could do the most amazing things.

Corey smiled looking at the cloud until the breeze started to change it into a different shape. "Me either." Corey wondered if shapes like that happened a lot she would probably never know, she didn't sit very much. Sitting back up and kicking her feet back and forth in the water she looked back to the girl, "So what year are you in?" Corey wanted to try and befriend this girl, she had come to her after all, and she would like some friends besides her adopted family at school. "I'm a forth year." She hoped they were in the same grade but doubted it she hadn't seen her around her classes.

Cosette enjoyed the cool water surrounding her toes. It was warm, reflected from the bright sun. The heart-shaped cloud morphed into a regular, fluffy cloud, and blew away. She heard Corey say that she was in fourth year, which made her a year older than Cosette. "I'm in third year; thirteen years old I am." She stated with a grin. People tended to think she was a bit weird, but it was just because she grew up in a family that goofed off a lot.

Corey smiled she was only a year younger, that wasn't too bad. "Oh well I'm only a year older than." She smiled as she noticed another small fish in the water. She swayed her feet back and forth, but he was brave and stayed put until she stopped. She smiled at the fish, wondering where it got its attitude. Turning her attention back to the girl she smiled, even if she was a bit odd she had been nice to her which is more than a lot of kids here have been. Especially because of her disability she had it hard here. But her siblings tried to help as much as possible, even if they had all been adopted there bond was stronger the blood.
