Reuben hadn't been quite sure about signing up to be a tutor; he wasn't really that smart, nor good at explaining things. But he was patient, and he did love Care of Magical Creatures, and he hoped that these two factors combined would make of him a decent teacher. Even so, as he headed to the big oak tree not far from the edge of the forbidden forest, where he and Clementine had agreed to meet, he couldn't help but think he was about to gain a lot of respect for his professors.
On the plus side, it was a beautiful day: the summer sun was shining hard over the castle, drawing the students out onto the lawn to bask in its rays. Sitting down under the shade of the oak, Reuben went over his third year notes one more time, smiling as he recalled his first lessons with Professor Malik. Had that really been two whole years ago?
