Pshaw. Harry Potter is one million times better. Atleast there was actually an epic battle at the end of the series. In Twilight, just when you thought there would be this amazing vampire battle, all they did was stand across from each other and talk politely to each other.

Twilight = ewww... admittedly I've never seen the movie or read the book, but still. All Twilight lovers at OGHS (google it if you don't know what that is) should be locked in the boiler-room and shunned. Good on you Nick for expressing the sentiments of the minority group (or so it seems) of the world Harry Potter = AWESOME and cool. I didn't realize how cool OGHS (once again, GOOGLE) was until we turned it into Hogwarts. Literally. I'm in my History of Magic class right now.

I can not stand Twilight not since I read the first book way before all those emu kids got ahold of it. (I know its spelled emo but I think emu is better) Since this is a Harry Potter website I think Twilight and anything about it should be baned. I saw the first movie and it made me so bored I walked out about half way through now Harry Potter at the age of 20 yrs old Im still out there at 10pm waiting in line of the midnight opening so that I can get the best seat. And I know this is going to sound bad but my mom told me this a while back and I think its true. In real life guys that spirkle and suck are normally gay.

To be fair, you ARE on a Harry Potter forum.

The first book was terribly written, and I can see how teenage girls would find it to be a good story, and I can see why it's liked (but sparkling vegetarian vampires and werewolves that change when they're angry? Really?) but the sequels just pushed it too far. I mean, New Moon is nothing but inertia. HP6 had more action, and that's saying something.

I totally agree. In isolation, I thought the books were ok, not terrible but definitely not great either (except for the last one. Don't get me started on the ending of that one ), but as a series, it doesn't hold a candle to Harry Potter and is definitely not as good as other vampire series I've read.

Perhaps I'm a little bias since they tried to say Stephanie Meyer was the next JK Rowling... and they said that definitely prematurely but...

1.) Twilight is almost a direct rip off of the Sookie Stackhouse series (Trueblood) and isn't even as good.
Harry Potter is definitely an original!

2.) JK gave us a completely original world that was side by side ours yet perfectly hidden with so much to offer and new things to have in over 7 books, it truly was the world that kept on giving...
Meyer gave us some redneck town that was sooo stupid they couldn't even noticed the literal white doctor that looked like he belonged in the morgue, seriously if someone was looking like that at any hospital I went too I would not feel comfortable with him operating on me...

3.) JK Rowling gave us a series that build upon itself, As Harry aged and the world got darker you felt it so that before you knew it they were speaking on more adult level themes and yet you really didn't see it coming.
Meyer kept her 100 year old Vampire trapped as a 17 year old, the adult topics were relatively cut down and given an excuse as to why so that when your reading it you just feel like the Vampires are trapped in two worlds that they really don't belong in.

4.) Harry Potter is the type of book you can read when you are seven and then read again and again no matter what age you are and yet never feel like it's old and probably find newer things that you didn't catch before (even in the earlier books)
Meyers book is really directed at only one type of readers and everyone else is just like.... okay...... that's why it's more of an obsession between teen and young adult women, year there's others but not really....

5.) If your gonna pump everyone up for an Epic end battle, follow Rowling's example and do it! Even the most die hard Twilight fans had to admit the ending to the last book was just horrible!
