Freddie didn’t knock any more. Everyone in the hospital wing probably knew him anyway - he was in there, like, once a week for potions. So he went straight in. His leg was okay today. Pretty much normal, apart from some pins and needles, but that was okay. Didn’t hurt a lot. He just wanted to talk to one of the nurses. “Is Molly here?” he asked. That was normal too. He always asked for Molly, ‘cause she was nice. And she was Declan’s cousin. Freddie didn’t know that in the beginning. When he found out, he kinda panicked. Thought she was gonna tell Declan about his leg. She hadn’t, though. Probably. He was pretty sure she hadn’t.

In all honesty, the former Hufflepuff hadn't realised how busy the hospital wing would be. She hadn't thought about how much the kids at Hogwarts always seemed to be injured or how many students had many different medical conditions. But throughout the semester, Molly knew which ones were the regular occurrences and who to keep an eye out for more. Molly had been busy stocking up some medical potions in one of the cabinets when she heard a familiar voice enter the hospital wing and grinned. She had seen Freddie pretty much almost once a week, so his voice was a familiar one. Freddie was one of Declan's friends, and she thought the boy was nice. She placed the last potion bottle into the cabinets and closed the cabinet before heading towards Freddie with a small smile. "Hey Freddie, you feeling okay today?" Molly says with a gentle smile, ready to get to work if she needed to.

Freddie didn’t mean to smile - when he saw Molly, his face just smiled on its own. Twisting his hands in his sleeves, he shuffled forward. Auntie Thalia would’ve said not to drag his feet. “Yeah. Way better,” he said. Last week was bad, ‘cause of the fight, and stuff, but at least he could lift his knee up properly again now. He showed Molly, by balancing on his left leg for a couple seconds, how much better it was. “How’re you?” he asked. He did have a question. It just felt rude to ask straight away.

Molly was glad to see that Freddie seemed to be doing better than he had last week. It seemed like his leg seemed to go through it during what had happened last week. She had never seen Declan worried about someone before, so she knew Freddie meant a lot to Declan. Though she hadn't told Declan about the semi-regular visits that Freddie had in the hospital wing, and it wasn't her place to tell anyway. "Oh, good, I'm glad," Molly says with a grin, giggling a little as Freddie then lifts his leg up. "Yeah, it seems to be doing much better than it was before," Molly says with a grin, content with how it was looking. "I'm good, happy to see my favourite patient is doing better, though" Molly says, as she grins teasingly. She didn't mind the boy's company, though; she was quite fond of the young boy.

Now Freddie just had to not start any more fights. Yeah. Guess he’d see how that went. He made a face - he was so not her favorite patient - but he could feel himself going all warm anyway. She was definitely his favorite nurse. The best nurse he ever knew, actually, and he knew a lot. “I came because - to ask a question,” he said. “I wanna get Declan a present. For Christmas. I dunno what to get. Suck at choosing stuff.” He was thinking maybe a new tarantula cage - one with a really good lock, so Little Will couldn’t escape or whatever. But it didn’t sound like a good present. “What stuff does he like? Candy? Ooor… Yeah. Dunno.”

Molly perked up a little when Freddie said he had a question, giving him a little nod to shoot out the question he had. She smiled a little when he mentioned wanting to get her cousin a Christmas gift. "Oh, that's cool! Declan would appreciate that," Molly says with a grin. She thought for a moment about what Declan did like. "Oh, yup, he does like candy. Not the sour kind, though. Hates them" Molly starts off with a chuckle and a shake of her head, a memory popping in her head. She had given Declan a sour lolly when they were younger, and he hadn't spoken to her for like a week because he thought she was pranking him. "He absolutely loves chocolate frogs, though. They're his favourite kind. He does like skateboarding, too. Obsessed"

Ohhhh. Declan hated sour candy? So did Freddie, but that was mostly ‘cause the gummy ones were made of gross stuff. Like animal jelly. Maybe he could find some of those hard ones Uncle Rudolf brought over for Christmas. Was that mean? Yeah, but Freddie was mean. He’d get some chocolate frogs as well, so he wasn’t a complete jerk. Just a little one. “Okay,” he said, scratching his nose with his sleeve. “Yeah. He’s really good. I think I saw him in the gardens once, when I was walking.” Freddie had run away. Not ‘cause he didn’t wanna watch, but ‘cause Declan might’ve asked if he wanted a go, and he didn’t. “But what do you get for someone who’s - who likes skateboards? Skateboards are expensive.”

Molly smiled, hoping she had least Declan’s friend a little. It did make her think that maybe she should get a head on christmas shopping too if she was being honest. Gift giving was something she enjoyed. She smiled at Freddie, chuckling a little at Freddie. “Yeah skateboards are defiantly expensive. The accessories for them are expensive too” Molly said with a small smile and nod. She remembered her uncle had refused to get Declan anything else for ages because Declan had been bugging his parents for months to get him a skateboard. But Declan hadn’t minded because he was content with his skateboard after that. “Honestly, you could get him those miniature toy skateboards, and he’d be happy with that. He’ll be happy with anything you get him. Honest” Molly says with a giggle, putting her index and thumb together to mimic a miniature toy, while also reassuring Freddie.

Freddie did have the money. One of his other aunts, in California, owned like, a make-up business or something, and when she died, she gave all her nieces and nephews some money. Not a lot. He wasn’t rich. But he could probably buy Declan a new skateboard. Thalia was the problem - she didn’t like it when he bought stuff for people. She was like, ‘you don’t have to give people expensive stuff to show you like them’. But why not? Why couldn’t he? It was his money.

“Oh! One of the little - the finger ones? Those are so cool. This boy at my last school, he could do tricks with those. But then, one time, he tried to flip it, and it flew off the table, and our teacher, who was standing right there - it hit her on the butt.” Freddie was giggling. It bounced soo far. Molly should’ve seen it - she would’ve died laughing. “You’re a genius. I’m gonna get him one of those. And a chocolate frog.” And some sour candy, of course, ‘cause he wanted to see Declan’s face when he ate it. “Do you want a chocolate frog?” he asked. “I can get one for you.”

Molly clicked her fingers together, pointing at Freddie. "Yup, you got it!" Molly says with a grin and a nod, glad that he had understood what she meant. Her grin went wider and wider as Freddie then went on about a story that had been related to one of the toy skateboards. She burst out laughing along with Freddie's giggles, imagining the scene being played in her head. "Was she mad? I would pay good money to see what her face looked like," Molly chuckled with a small smile. Molly then sent another small smile to the younger boy. "Oh, I dunno about being a genius about that. But I'm happy that I helped you in some way. Always here for ya, whether it be for your leg or just help like this in general," Molly says with a grin. The boy was pretty much a close friend of Declan. And with people who were close friends of Declan's, she'd too would be there for them, like she would be for her cousin, maybe a little softer towards them though. "Oh no, it's okay, Freddie. Spend that chocolate frog money on yourself, you deserve that"

“Her whole face went bright red,” said Freddie, trying to stifle his laughter in his elbow. This was the hospital wing. There were sick people. But Molly was laughing too - she thought he was funny - and he didn’t want her to stop. “She thought he did it on purpose. And me and Vanessa, we were like, ‘yeah, he did’.” It was a pretty mean thing to do. Funny though.

Aw. Freddie didn't wanna bother Molly when he didn't need anything, but he liked to talk to her when he was feeling good, too. Otherwise she only saw him when his leg hurt. "Okay," he said. He'd get her one anyway. "Okay - I'll let you do your work, now. Thanks for helping me."

Molly chuckled, imagining how red the teacher’s face must’ve been. There were similar situations where Declan and her would pranks their family members from time to time and there seemed to be a similar reaction, which she and Declan thought were quite funny. She laughed a little more as Freddie continued.

“Alright, I’ll see you later then okay? And if there’s anymore pain or issues with that leg of yours, or just for anything in general, you know where to find me” Molly says genuinely and grins and the young boy, as she pats the boy gently on his shoulder. She did hope the boy was okay, and hoped he knew that she was indeed there for the young boy if he ever needed her for anything.
