Kit eagerly awaited for people to arrive on the field for tryouts. She had most of the team down, but with a few positions open, she knew she'd had to really focus on making the team as good as possible, finding people who wanted to be a teammate and not to just a "quidditch star." The Pukwudgie held onto her broom, running her finger over the brand name at the top until she looked at her watch, realizing it was time to start.

"Alright, then - let's get started! I'm Kit, and I'm a chaser and the quidditch captain again this year for our team. If you were on the team last year, you can help out those trying out - just don't take it easy on them, okay? We gotta focus on making a solid team. If you were an alternate last year, sorry, but you gotta re-tryout just so we can see what you got, okay? If anyone has any questions, let me know, but start by saying your name and what position or positions you're going for," she said, knowing that some folks would play anything just to be on the team, even if it didn't quite suite them. "Cool? Let's get going!" she finished excitedly, kicking off on her broom so she hovered a bit before seeing who the first student trying out was.

OOCOut of Character:
Former players just need to post in tryouts to keep their position. Second years and up are welcome to tryout - just say your name and the position you're going for. I'm hoping to have people who can consistently post in a game and practice. If you have any questions, PM me!

Already being on the team meant that March didn't have to worry about trying out this year, so the fourth year was a lot more relaxed. He gave Kit a nod as she made his way to the pitch and settled in for a mostly cozy session, he figured, he'd help out with the tryouts for alternate and whatnot, but other than that he didn't need to work too hard, he'd done his work last year and before. He was always intrigued to see what would happen honestly. "Hey Kit, let me know if you need any help."

Mason had just joined the team last year, and he was ready to play for another year. They had to win this year; Mason was determined about that. The boy got to the Quidditch pitch and listened to what Kit had to say, and then they were off into the skies. Mason ended up doing his own thing most of the practice, not wanting to waste time on those who were trying out, smirking as he managed to hit what he could. Though closer to the end, he reluctantly helped out those who were trying out.

Summer turned up to the Quidditch pitch for the new years try-outs and waited to see who would want to get involved with the team. She made herself available to Kit if she needed any help setting things up.

This was Hadrian's last year, which he felt a little sad about, but it just meant he had to put in a real effort. He had been caught up in trying to improve his grades in recent years which meant his Quidditch training had slipped, but he thought he had a good plan for how to balance everything better. Most importantly, he aimed to have fun this year. He was too old to be intimidated by the girls (that was a lie, Kit was still kind of intimidating) and he nodded as he took to the skies and passed the quaffle around with the others.

((I caved))

Ray hadn't been that keen on playing Quidditch at first. It wasn't baseball. But he supposed it was the closest thing he could get to playing baseball at Ilvermorny, if he played as beater. His sister had been the one to push him into it, and now he felt more confident on a broom he supposed he ought to give it a try. It had taken a little bit of work to get used to the beater's bat compared to a baseball bat, but with enough practice he was sure he'd manage.

"Aloha," he greeted the captain with a shaka, a habit that wouldn't change even if he felt a world away from Honolulu. "Ray Hamasaki, trying out for beater." He mounted up and started flying around, taking a few moments to get his bearings. He wasn't bad on a broom, but he was certainly a little better at swinging a bat with his feet on the ground. He felt decently confident, though, and as he got into it he was able to focus less on balance and more on swing accuracy. By the end of the tryout he was hitting more bludgers than he was missing, and even managed to hit a couple of the other hopefuls. Happy with his output, he thanked the captain, swinging his bat as he walked away.
