Sixth Years, Lesson Three

James wasn't a huge fan of the sixth year curriculum, they had so far just been learning about the various types of shielding charm and there seemed to be little end in sight. They would be learning yet another variation of the protego charm and he wondered if his students were as bored of it as he was. Once everyone had entered the class he raised his wand to have the classroom door close firmly behind them. He sighed as he got to his feet so he could announce how they would be spending the next hour of their lives. "Welcome back, in our last lesson we discussed Protego Horribilis and today you'll all be delighted to know we'll be learning about Protego Totalum, would anyone like to tell me what Protego Totalum is so we can get on with our day?" He paused to allow a student to answer the question. "Excellent, now pair up to practice duelling with Stupefy and Protego Totalum, you know the drill," The rest of the lesson went by pretty quickly, or slowly for the ones who weren't duelling fans. James patrolled the classroom stepping in to help when needed. When the lesson was over he flew open the classroom door and dismissed them.

Perhaps Mikael couldn't be blamed that he was just a little bit disappointed that they would be learning another shielding charm. His lips curled - how many variations of the same spell were they learning this year? Couldn't they have learned this closer to the time when they were learning Protego? He sighed as it was once again time to practice. This time, he cornered Hinata to give her a bit of a break from Horror. Well, she doubted she would have a better time with him but that was fine. Hinata was a more defensive dueller than he was anyway.

Hinata went to class, listened to James-san and practiced the Protego Totalum with Mikael.

Theo strolled into Defense Against the Dark Arts, twirling his wand between his fingers. He couldn't help but pout and grimace about learning another shield charm. How many shield charms even existed? Was this what they were going to be doing the whole year? At least duelling practice was going to be awesome. Last time he'd had to ask the professor to partner up but he was quicker this time with getting in front of @Bailey Walden-Cade with a grin. "Come on, you and me," he said, "I'll even promise to behave." His fingers were definitely not crossed behind him. "Besides, think about it. You can finally stun me into next week and not be in trouble." Whoever would end up as his partner, he would practice the spells with. Still, he hoped Bailey would agree. How could she not? She'd have unlimited tries to hit his @ss.

Her dad really needed to do something about the sixth year curriculum because it was boring to come back and do another lesson on shielding charms. Yes, they were upgraded from the first year charm they learned, but surely there were more important things to learn about during such an important year in their education? After going through the new spell, they’d be practicing it was time to actually do it and pair up, unfortunately for her, Theo seemed hellbent on practicing with her, she rolled her eyes and looked around for Hina, but she was paired with Mikael. “Fine,” She paired with him and as soon as he wasn’t fully paying attention, she hit him with a stunning spell.

The middle of the semester was always the most boring of all though it would go fast because by this time, all classes had their materials ready and in full swing. Homework was often given. Horror Zhefarovich could spend his time doing research. He liked looking things up and learning whatever he could. Whatever he felt that could benefit him down the road. Horror checked the time and saw that it was time to leave. He finished getting ready and left the Slytherin house to head out before he might end up locked out. Horror did not want that against him since he had worked hard to get the grades that he needed after all this time.

Horror walked in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. This time they would be learning Protego Totalum. And then they were paired off. He practiced with someone else this time because Mikael wanted to give his favorite victim a break. Suit himself. He practiced the spell for the remainder of the class period, and by the end of it, he was feeling confident in the strength of his shield.

The blonde made her way to the classroom and found her usual spot in the front close to the professor. As he explained what they would be doing today, she knew it was gonna be an different variation of an shielding charm once more. But it seemed an bit boring. When the professor asked an question she raised her hand and wondered if anyone was sleeping or they were just dumb. And got chosen to answer. But the professor made it seem like he didn't even liked what he was doing, so that was strange. '' Protego Totalum can be used to shield an area, used to stop any intruder or spell from the protected area.'' The blonde explained. Than they had to partner up and June chose someone she didn't hate. Practicing firstly the new spell first, an was able to achieve quickly and than turned positions to cast an simple stupefy. And practiced further until the lesson was over.
