Tori wouldn't admit it to anyone if they asked, but she was kind of excited about the Yule ball this time around. Well, it wasn't that she hadn't enjoyed attending last year with Nox, because she had, but she was specifically excited that he had asked her. He could have asked anyone, and he'd decided to ask her. She hadn't been able to keep the slight heat out of her cheeks the entire day leading up to the dance and she had tried to dodge Lili's questions. She was sad her best friend wasn't going to the ball, but she guessed she could kind of understand why honestly. Everything that had happened with Demi. Tori looked down at her knuckles as she thought about it, before shaking her head and asking Lili for help with her hair. She wasn't sure she wanted to talk about tonight yet, she didn't even know how it was going to go, but she always had fun when she was with Jasper, she just hoped he would be on time today, she didn't want to be left out in the cold as it were. It didn't make sense to her that it was winter themed either, since it wasn't exactly winter right now. "Thanks Lili!" She said as she headed out of the student lounge and down to the great hall. She could have met Jasper up in the Common room, but since she had wanted Lili's help with her hair, she had opted to meet him there. Maybe she could wow him with her red dress.

Jasper didn’t have a lot of friends at Hogwarts, but the ones he did have meant a lot to him. His best friend was Tori and he knew she had been through a rough term. He heard a rumour she punched a Ravenclaw, though he hadn’t directly asked her about it. He figured that if she wanted to talk, then she would. Instead, he just tried to be a good friend in his own way, like playing gobstones with her and inviting her to the Yule Ball.

He did not want to let her down after she agreed to go with him, so he’d tried really hard to be on time, even early. So early, in fact, that he arrived before Tori. When he finally spotted her, he went straight over. She looked great in her red dress. "Hey, Tori! I like the dress.” He almost blurted out that she reminded him of a red gobstone but decided against it. Instead, he added. “Very colourful.”
 
When she saw Jasper approaching, she grinned, she was actually surprised he'd shown up before her because he was usually the one who was late actually. She was kind of impressed that he'd put in the effort, flattered, really. She straightened out her dress a little and looked him over, "you look really good too, black suits you," it probably suited a lot of people she supposed, it was a popular choice for a reason, but she liked it on Jasper. "Very Gryffindor too I think," she pointed out, doing a bit of a spin on the spot. "Thanks for inviting me, and for being early." She had been trying to lean on her friends a lot more lately, but it wasn't always east to figure out what to do or who to talk to.​
